Making Plant Spirit Altars

- Altars can be a place where the worlds overlap; in plant spirit work they become a liminal space where the green realm and our everyday human experiences meet in the middle. When we craft an altar, we set aside space in our lives to call in the green blessings of the plants for medicine, magic, and ritual- and all of this can be both simple and incredibly beautiful!
There are countless ways to honor our connection to the plants and engage more directly with them as we walk our paths- making altars is a great one! I consider these dedicated sacred spaces 'altars' rather than 'shrines' because I do work here- making and receiving herbal medicine, charging and feeding herbal magic, meditation, spirit flight, journey work, study of our ancestral plant folklore, and so much more.
Altars are a great way to mingle your creative energy with the invoked presence of the plants- make them your own, and make them feel great for your work!

I love this spiritual approach to connecting with plants. There is a lot of talk about teas, oils or baths to connect with the plant, but little is said about this more spiritual and telepathic connection with the being that lives in the plants.
I loved this video. I’ve yet to purchase either of your books so I’m curious as to whether either of them include sections as refence material on the specific energetics and magick innate to each plant you talk about or if they’re more devoted to the process and the ethos. Thanks!
@@askanthonyy both are more 'learning how to learn from the plants', but the reference section in both contains great resources dor materia medica and materia magica! Spiritual Herbalism focuses on medicine and is a great one to begin with, then The Green Arte is essentially my personal working grammar for occult herbalism and the plant spirit path 🌿
For beginners, do you recommend focusing on just one plant at a time until you have a good connection? I made the mistake of trying to connect with multiple plants at same time and ended up not feeling connected to any of them for 2 months now.
@love25147 definitely! One at a time for 3 months. Then you can work with one per lunar cycle. After some time you can hold space for many at a time! I've always preferred one at a time for deeper connection and a space on my altar (and in my heart) to honor all of them.
@@TheGreenArte Thank you and how can I connect more with a plant when it doesn't have a smell to make an oil, isn't it possible to make tea too? I don't think these are necessary things, but I have no idea how I can get closer to a plant that doesn't have many resources. In this case it's an Alocasia cuprea
