    Hi Matthias, I really liked your approach on how to build this template and some of it's features like the buttons for projects, docs.
    Something that I didn't thought about when I build systems is how you stored team dashboards into a database, that approach was awesome!
    I have watched in the past more videos from your channel and I have to admit there is no difference with the work you do in comparison with other Notion creators who have millionaire followers / subscribers.
    Keep the good work 💡 👏🏻 🙏🏻

      @@mfreihaendig Yes, how to create views from a single database for assignees so they can see only the tasks that are assigned to them 🥲 😄 - I believe that would be the most demanding feature in Notion - hope to see it soon!

      @@mfreihaendig Well, guess what..😁I would like to setup different views from a single database where each view would show only the tasks that are assigned to corresponding assignees without the possibility for them to be able to see other database items except from the ones that are assigned to them..🥳🥲 Hope to see that feature soon! 🔜

      Onboarding can be tough to give general advice on - really comes down to your individual needs in your business, the role of the person and so on
      I‘ll make a video on that in the future with some guidelines 💪🏻
      Make sure to use user groups as detailed in the beginning of the video and then set the access rights to can edit content as explained in the end

    Amazing guide! Thank you. Curious why you didn’t use the sub item feature of databases, What’s your use case for this feature?

    • @mfreihaendig

      Usually not adding sub tasks unless necessary - they have a few interactions in the system that don’t make them super easy to use, so unless the team really needs it, we skip it 💪🏻

    Thank you very much Matthias! can you explain how to map a team-member relation propery from the user person using make?
    It would be great!

    • @mfreihaendig

      Yes of course! Basically, you need to retrieve the ID part
      To do so, it’s best to have the Notion account on the team member database - that can be used to retrieve the corresponding ID per person and then you can fill it into whatever person property you need ☺️

    • @Carlos-kam

      @@mfreihaendig Thank you Matthias! Done with make! Also, for achieve this, you can filter by user inside of an automation, really cool because people could have an only read role but the change it's made in the page because it's Notion who makes it.

  • @stefanmangold8895

    Hi Matthias! Great work! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I like the business template. Is it possible to create a database for notes in the backend and limit users' access to their notes? If not, what would be a good workaround for a note taking system for individual users?

    • @mfreihaendig

      Granular access rights is notions biggest weakness right now - basically, you can’t set easy rules to say „show these parts of the database, but not those“
      So for a notes database, you could restrict access overall and then give access on an individual basis, but that’s quite cumbersome
      My recommendation in general would be: if possible, embrace transparency and encourage everyone to add notes to one central database - then, you can use filters and views to ensure everyone always only sees relevant information (just be aware that everything could be accessed)
      Or define several access levels and use this method here:

    Hi Matthias, thank you very mutch for create this. I have a question thoug... How can I do to do the Projects Bar Progress if I have more than one database for tasks?
    (I already know that the easiest way is just create on data base for all tasks, but I already set up my companys workflow with this 3 databases)
    Can you help me?
    Ps. English is not my native language, so I hope you can understand me.

    • @mfreihaendig

      With three databases, you need to connect them all to the project db and then use formulas to a) sum up all individually completed task and b) divide by the sum of all tasks across all dbs

    Hey man, firstly your super helpful and I appreciate the time you put in to make this. I'm just wondering tho... What's the reason for the team directory database if there is a responsibility page already there the (person) property. I hope you understand my questions sorry if a little confusing

    • @bartekstanda

      Also what would be your main choice for highlighting on new databases you'd create

    • @mfreihaendig

      What do you mean with highlighting? 🤔

    • @mfreihaendig

      Well it’s mostly to have a central place that contains all relevant information about your team - like how to reach them, roles, teams etc.
      You can use the person property well to assign things, but since it doesn’t allow you to query it anywhere you’d only have “traces” everywhere in the system, not a central place ☺️

    • @bartekstanda

      I basically want to understand which property I should use when assigning a member onto a new database. The notion account or the database you created… it’d be easier for me to stick with one. What would you recommend?

    • @mfreihaendig

      @@bartekstanda for assigning items, you always want to use Notion's built-in people property - because that allows you to set the flexible "me" filter afterwards 💪🏻
