Great video. Just two Comments: 1) Keep the touch cable connected to the touch panel circuit board. This will give you a little less room to work, but it saves you the trouble of reconnecting it. 2) Removing the touch panel circuit board from the thin plastic display tabs is tricky. The thin white strip at the top of each connector is like a clamp and needs to be flipped up to release the plastic display connectors tabs. Once released, the tabs come right out.

So I am not looking to replace my screen, but to replace my 256gb SSD with a 1tb SSD in my Acer Aspire R5-571TG-7229, and I stumbled across this video which really helps take a look inside the bottom panel of this laptop without opening mine up just yet. Do you have any tips for going about this replacement procedure? Also, what is a cy piece? I don't wanna have to rip and pry off the bottom panel and risk breaking the laptop
Awesome - worked like a charm - You could skip a step; keep the touch cable attached and only remove the touch panel digitizer circuit from the screen. My fingers aren't nibble enough but I am sure its possible.
How to replace the "touch Screen" only (NOT LCD) ??? The touch screen glass is available as spare part BUT I can find any video clip showing how to separate it from the LCD screen . The spare pat Digitizer glass comes with 2mm wide double sided glue tape.

Is there a command perhaps in Linux where I can try to detect the touch sensor before purchasing a new one? The screen is cracked and I believe it goes down to the touch censor board.

1. If you haven't changed the screen, your touch screen may be broken. 2. If you are changing to a new screen, please check if your touch cable is connected well or reinstall the touch driver. None of the above methods can solve it. I suggest you change to a new screen.
I attempted this today and thankyou your the only one with a imdeped video about my computer but I had not done one thing I didnt put the touchpad in because i messed the bristles up can you please tell me where i can get a replacement touchpad and if that's the correct name text me back when get this please
Does this support nvme ssd? recently I installed 500 GB NVME SSD, Now Every time I restart my pc the SSD disappeared from the BIOS and I need to turn on and off the pc in order to work. Please suggest
Great video. Only part I would change is that the touch board piece on com 6 & 7 fold down and not pull out... I have no IT knowledge so those who already know might get it but I struggled a lot and had to rewatch that are a few times. Overall, extremely helpful and save me lots of money. Thank you!

Can I replace only the touch screen part? When I open my laptop, every things goes well. But due to horizontal crack in screen, upper part of touch does not work but lower part touch work very well.
@@firstlcd7665 My laptop screen work very well as normal, but there is one horizontal line crack from one corner to another. And the upper part of touch does not work but lower part works properly.
@@nirajshrestha703 Then you need to buy a touch screen digitizer glass and heat it with a hair dryer to soften the glue before you can remove the digitizer glass you are not working on. This is a slightly complicated project.
I have that on my aspire m5-583p-6428 but the fucking touch clips do not open the top clip broke off the pos wont open so my new screen works without touch function. Where do you get the board from? everybody and their dog only sells the screen itself not that tiny pos board on the back
