Yes, she is amazing. You guys should look her up. She grew up with classical ballet training, but later found that she really enjoyed contemporary. If you go to her website you'll see her resume - huge list of all the productions she has performed in. She is a pro!
It it nice to see thoughtful choreography that suits the dancer...absolutely beautiful intriguing performance! Great body placement, you don't see that often!!
Anyone who says this girl should not be a dancer should go ahead and take a look at her perfect alignment. Her pelvis= perfectly aligned. Her ribcage= Not once out of place. Clearly this girl has been trained exceptionally well in ballet or classical modern, or else she wouldn't have such amazing form. And anyone that is about to sit there and try to hate on Nicki Loud's choreography should put their choreographic successes up against her's and see who has the bigger list. She's a beast.
wow you are amazing ! it was simple in a really beautiful way. and i'm glad that you had a costume that wasn't busy because you don't need anything distracting from your beautiful lines !
If you watch Bob Fosse's choreography, you'll notice that there are hardly ANY pirouettes at all. Yet he is a legend for his style and edge. I think Kristin has perfected the contemporary-ballet style without the need of tons of pirouettes. I find it absolutely refreshing, as I am more of a leaper than a turner myself. With her center/control, I'm sure she's an awesome turner. It just makes me feel better that a beautiful routine doesn't require them after all :)
That was beautiful! She is so gorgeous! It's interesting to see the comments that critique it. I never would have seen any flaws in something so smooth and flowing
i definitely DID feel emotion from her in this. maybe shes just not overdoing the emotion is all. the song stays simple and almost monotone. she apears indifferent, numb, hurt past the point of having the energy to really show it. idk i loved it. so beautiful!
Though most seem to think that "feeling" is something solely expressed on faces, the amount of emotion put out by the dancer, whom I admire, reflects quite harmoniously the desperation heard in the voice of the singer, whom I also admire. The same can be said of the choreography; fancy turns and gravity-defying leaps would seem out of place in so melancholy a song. Choreography is merely an interpretation of music, and Nicki Loud interpreted very well.
Seeing as this was when she was 17, and 4 years ago- look at her recent accomplishments. SYTYCD CA and now employed with the Bad Boys of Dance that tours all over the world.
Oh ok...thanks...the way she moves her body is so fluent and she makes it look so effortless....ive never watched this kinda dancing....u can tell shes very strong, her muscles are sick!! (sick in a good way) lol
oh hey, look! i saw her do two seperate single pirouettes, and they were perfect and beautiful. there ya go. proof. she can turn. i mean, c'mon people. you'd have to be a moron to watch this and not assume this girl do whatever turns she wants. i think some people don't understand what choreography really represents: a FREEDOM to express movement, music, emotions in whatever way the choreographer deems appropriate. everything about this-movement and feeling-fit the song. it was breathtaking.
Lyrical dances to the lyrics...its lyricism through movement. Modern is a codified technique based in different disciplines i.e. grahm, horton, limon Contemporary is a 'newer' idea in dance, its more of a hybrid of lyrical, jazz and modern. meaning, it doesn't rely entirely on the technique listed, its more grounded than lyrical, but organic, not flashy... I hope this helped? I don't pretend to know everything but this is as far as i know correct.
@JJboy1992 she can do both sides and they are AMAZING!! but naturally most people are better on the right side, so when you're at competition, wouldn't you rather do more of your best side?
listen, the truth is a lot of dancers do dance with eating disorders. and EDs don't automatically mean someone who is completely wasted away and bordering on organ failure and death. there are different stages, and different kinds of EDs with varying levels of severity. maybe she eats enough to be able to do this but not enough to maintain a normal weight for her height/build. an eating disorder doesn't mean she eat NOTHING. you can maintain being underweight and not get larger or smaller
She is so beautiful. I think this song matches her style and technique well. I love watching her dance!!!
The song is "the hill" by marketa irglova. She did amazing.
bloody seamless! this dancer is fantastic!
Kudos to the choreographer for giving the dancer a beautiful piece to work with.
Congratz
Such talent!!!!! Breathtaking... stunning, beautiful
I'm speechless...incredible control and expression. Beautiful choreography. Thank you.

Oh my god I am speechless. You inspire me.
This is great!
just watch the time it takes you going from one session to other, i can see clearly how you wait for the music to come...

Agreed! Some people just don't know "shit from shinola" This was very good. Hopefully we can see Kristen clips in duets!
Cheers
That was beautiful. I thought it had plenty of feeling and I think you did wonderfully! They are just looking for a video to critique...
@silenthillmaster755 in dance arches are pretty important! it extends the line of your leg, and gives a solid point
This is perfection.
her technique is amazing and the way she extends her limbs is so goregous! loved it

the hill, marketa irglova. its from the movie Once. (:
WOW. and i thought my arches were good...but geez the extention is AMAZING. i wish i could get my developpes that high...
This is her SYTYCD audition and all of her solos from the show all combined into one performance.
They say there is no such thing as perfect. That was just proved wrong
The song is •Once-the hill
holy shit, that was insane!
wow, your absolutely, memorizing to watch, i couldn't take my eyes off you.
Oh ok...thanks...the way she moves her body is so fluent and she makes it look so effortless....ive never watched this kinda dancing....u can tell shes very strong, her muscles are sick!! (sick in a good way) lol

it's called "the hill" by marketa irglova :)

she reminds me of jamie from sytycd in a verrry good way. technical, yet not rigid. beautiful work!
perfection!
lovely lovely lovely.
I loved it! (:
oh hey, look! i saw her do two seperate single pirouettes, and they were perfect and beautiful. there ya go. proof. she can turn. i mean, c'mon people. you'd have to be a moron to watch this and not assume this girl do whatever turns she wants. i think some people don't understand what choreography really represents: a FREEDOM to express movement, music, emotions in whatever way the choreographer deems appropriate. everything about this-movement and feeling-fit the song. it was breathtaking.
Phenomenal.
omg i love her gracefulness...i'd love to see her do pointe
one word , perfect
Son en dehors est absolument parfait
La danzatrice è Kirsten Wicklund, non Irglova come indicato per sbaglio in altro video.
Gorgeous extensions.
Marketa Irglova "The Hill" from movie Once...
yeah she does, but she's now with Washington Ballet II
too bad she couldn't have been doing contemporary solos earlier! cuz she is just soo good
Sure there were a lot of extensions, but she's very fluid and absolutely mezmorizing to watch.

She is so free, really good dance (: perfect !
but , what's the song name? (:
beautiful lines! grat extensions. amzing body well defined. did u win? cuz this performance is looks breathless
Kirsten, you are beautiful inside and out.
I was thinking the same but she has beautiful lines
@rabbitheart333 not if it's in the early stages, but anyway I think her weight is being talked about more than her beautiful dance
@JJboy1992 she can do both sides and they are AMAZING!! but naturally most people are better on the right side, so when you're at competition, wouldn't you rather do more of your best side?

@itbeme14741 i think that she really wasn't trying to stick it, i think that was choreographed
Thank you !
