This works at the Venetian. I made reservations for 2 rooms 2 weeks ago. When I got to the hotel I slid the clerk her sandwiched $20 and didnt say anything . she smiled and went to work. she told me she had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor facing the back of the hotel for us but if I would give her a few minutes she will speak to the manager about releasing more rooms. when she returned 3 minutes later and set us up with 2 a joined rooms facing the strip on the 32nd floor. the view was amazing. Thank you so much for the tip. The upgrades would have equaled $130 a night if I had booked them that way.

Just back from Vegas. The 20 dollar worked a treat. 9 nights with the hotel practically full (The Linq). I was upgraded from a standard room $1000 to a king suite $3000. Happy days. The perfect start to my hols😀

I am planning to visit in July 2019. It will be a monday to Friday kind of visit. I am not sure where I will be staying yet but thinking about Treasure Island or MGM Park. I am a little nervous as I don't want to embarrass myself (lol) and I don't want to break any rules or anything like that. I am so happy that you posted this video. You don't have to be secretive about it... Just ask them with a $20 in your hand where they can see it, ask if they have any complimentary upgrades, if they say yes then just hand them the money. They are allowed to take tips freely, and comps are already budgeted for. THEY WILL NOT ALWAYS GIVE YOU YOUR TIP BACK... so don't hand them it until they say there are comps available, unless your fine losing your $20.

Sure! That's exactly what I do. Check out my Palms Casino Trick video....I had a basic cheap small room reserved and I asked for a suite with a spa tub...and I got it! Hi Joseph, my wife and I are travelling from New Zealand with 2 teenage kids (17yrs) and will spend 3 days in LV. We're booked at the Tropicana check in Wed 13 Aug - check out Sat 3 Sep. Hello Paul and Family! To answer your question, I would always advise to check in as near to the check-in time as possible. I personally, have had luck checking in 1 hour before the actual check-in. For most guest, to check in early they would have to pay some sort of fee. However, when I do the $20 trick...those early check-in fees seem to disappear. Now, as far as "outside" of Vegas....sadly no. I even tried it at a resort at DisneyWorld when I went last year and it didn't work. However, it doesn't hurt to try. What's the worst that can happen? They tell you, "Sorry no we don't." So, give it a try in LA and SLC and see what happens. But, please make sure to come back here and let me know what happened in LA & SLC...but also in Vegas! I love hearing your success stories. :-)
Kaylee, YES!!! Try it! As long as the rooms are in one person's name...then go for it! For example, let's say the rooms are both in your name. Then, when you check in, you will be the one doing the trick. However, keep this in mind, if you are looking for two rooms next or near to each other, that may limit your "luck" and at best you might get the room you booked, but on a higher floor with a better view. However, if you are open to being on different floors with different types of rooms, then you have just increased your chances for a better room! Karolina, great question! I think it all depends on the original room that you have reserved and what other room options they have that are "better" than the room you reserved. I would stick with $20, and just ask, "I was wondering if you had any complementary upgrades of a larger room that we can have please, that can accommodate my family of 4?" Well, it's worth a try....however, just remember...you will either end up with your request...or a better room within the category that you booked in. So, please let me know how it works out! Aloha Cadinha! It's funny to see this lovely greeting....because I just booked a trip to Hawaii for Feb!! Anyhow, I would definitely give it a try. The best that can happen is you get upgraded to a spectacular room, or to a room that is slightly better than the one you book, or at the least they may give you some free amenities or something. However, if they can't do anything for you, they will give you your money back. It's worth a try! You'll be in Vegas...so let that be your first gamble of your trip!! I booked my trip for July at the MGM Grand when you do the tip is the $20 just a cash payment and they bill you for the upgraded room since they have your credit card or is it a free upgrade room? Thanks!
I tried this at the stratosphere this summer and it did not work! Got put in a bad room which was smoking, having booked a non smoking room, and they swapped it next day, but not for a particularly better one, despite giving the tip!

Hello Ronald! That is a good question. Sadly, NYNY is not as "high end" as it once was. Many of the newer hotels have stolen that title away from NYNY and a few others. So, my advice for you, is stick with $20, but try to check in at the start of the check-in time, if not a little before. Just follow my advice I gave in this video and you will do fine. Trust me. +Go Live It Up So from the results i know he upgraded me to a room with more space cause they didn't have any bigger rooms. We originally had two queens but gave us a room with 1 king with more space and a complimentary roll away bed with no charge which was nice. Weird thing I noticed was that when he gave my card and ID back, the $20 was still in there and he knew it was in there when I gave it to him and decided to give it back anyways. I was thinking the whole time "why didn't he take it?" Anyways as a kind gesture I gave him the $20 just of the free upgrades (but didn't tell him that of course) I did the right thing right? Cause it seems like he didn't want the $20 lol

However, when you check in and do the trick, after you hand them your ID/Card "sandwich"....I would say, "My spouse and I are here in Vegas for the 1st time for our 5 year anniversary...." and then go into the rest of request as I spoke about in my film. Hello Hally...the short answer is "yes" they do and what sort of an upgrade you get all depends on the numbers of nights you are staying and when during the week you are staying. Ohhhhh...good question! Well, it does work at Harrah's. However, if you are going on a busy holiday weekend, your chances lessen. Let's say you want a room upgrade (of the same type of room you booked) on a higher floor...they may be able to accommodate that. But, if you want a whole other type of room or suite...that might be more tricky. Depending on when you check in, is going to be key and also remember that if they can't upgrade your room, see if they have any other types of complementary upgrades like tickets to The LINQ, Shows, Restaurants, Buffets, or even the Spa for you and the other people in your party. When all is said and done, if they are not able to get you any type of upgrades....they will give you your money back. So, it's worth a try! Hey Jenn! This is what I advise. Since the Strat is a lower end hotel...I would just stick with the $20 and give it a try. However, the two rooms need to be reserved in one person's name. If not, then I would advise that you and your friends check in together and each of you give the receptionist a $20 each and request an upgraded conjoining room. TSgt, this is my advice to you since it is the same weekend as a huge event. If you arrive at Aria at the start of the check in time (or even a little before hand), then try $50. However, if you are arriving later at night, just go with the $20. Even, if it is a busy weekend, you might still be able to get a higher-up room with a pretty sweet view for $20; but if you arrive early at do $50, you might get something a little better. Hello Robertino2001! To be honest, I wouldn't waste $50 at a hotel like the Linq. I feel $20 is the right amount for the Linq. Now, if you were staying at a more higher end hotel like the Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, or Aria (ones that have rooms that range in price between $800-$1000+ a night)...then I was say go for it and see what happens. But, the Linq is a moderate range hotel with not so many "thrills" as the higher end hotels, so there is no need to do $50. At the Linq you might get a lower floor room with no view before you do the trick; however, after the trick, you will most likely get one on a higher floor, with some sort of awesome view, and the room may have larger square footage. If you try it, please let me know what happens!! Thanks!

Hello Betzy! Yes, the upgrade will work, because you will have to check in to the hotel, no matter who you book it through. I book my hotel stays through Hotels.com, but when I check in it has nothing to do with them. So, when you get to the hotel, just do the trick and ask, "I was wondering if I could please get a complementary upgrade to a room on a high floor with 2 beds?" This should do it. Car...I want to thank you for the confirmation that this trick works! However, I am sorry that it did not work for you at the Flamingo. You must had got a new employee that didn't know they were allowed to receive tips and give upgrades. I will try to book a room there in the coming months and try it again. You could try it for the resort fee. It would be worth your while if you are staying more than 3 nights. Most resort fees range from $30-$50 bucks. So, it would be like you are paying for a fraction of one night, but getting the rest of your nights free with no resort fees. So give it a try. Hello DMlloyd01 ! You pay for whatever you booked. So, let's say you booked a basic room at Bally's for $49 a night, then that is what you pay. When you do the $20 trick, that is a tip for the front desk clerk and in return, in most cases, he/she will give you an upgrade to either a room on a higher floor with a strip view....to anywhere to a room that is 2-3 times more the nightly rate as the one you booked. However, all you will pay for it is that $49 a night!!! But keep in mind...many hotels in Vegas have "resort fees" that cover: pool, spa, gym, internet, etc....and you will still have to pay those fees, with or without an upgrade. Yet, they are usually a flat rate per-night of between $25-$55 a night. So, make sure you book the cheapest and always add in the "resort fees" when booking a room. This works at the Venetian. I made reservations for 2 rooms 2 weeks ago. When I got to the hotel I slid the clerk her sandwiched $20 and didnt say anything . she smiled and went to work. she told me she had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor facing the back of the hotel for us but if I would give her a few minutes she will speak to the manager about releasing more rooms. when she returned 3 minutes later and set us up with 2 a joined rooms facing the strip on the 32nd floor. the view was amazing. Thank you so much for the tip. The upgrades would have equaled $130 a night if I had booked them that way.

Just back from Vegas. The 20 dollar worked a treat. 9 nights with the hotel practically full (The Linq). I was upgraded from a standard room $1000 to a king suite $3000. Happy days. The perfect start to my hols😀

You don't have to be secretive about it... Just ask them with a $20 in your hand where they can see it, ask if they have any complimentary upgrades, if they say yes then just hand them the money. They are allowed to take tips freely, and comps are already budgeted for.
THEY WILL NOT ALWAYS GIVE YOU YOUR TIP BACK... so don't hand them it until they say there are comps available, unless your fine losing your $20.

Sure! That's exactly what I do. Check out my Palms Casino Trick video....I had a basic cheap small room reserved and I asked for a suite with a spa tub...and I got it! Hello Paul and Family! To answer your question, I would always advise to check in as near to the check-in time as possible. I personally, have had luck checking in 1 hour before the actual check-in. For most guest, to check in early they would have to pay some sort of fee. However, when I do the $20 trick...those early check-in fees seem to disappear. Now, as far as "outside" of Vegas....sadly no. I even tried it at a resort at DisneyWorld when I went last year and it didn't work. However, it doesn't hurt to try. What's the worst that can happen? They tell you, "Sorry no we don't." So, give it a try in LA and SLC and see what happens. But, please make sure to come back here and let me know what happened in LA & SLC...but also in Vegas! I love hearing your success stories. :-)

Kaylee, YES!!! Try it! As long as the rooms are in one person's name...then go for it! For example, let's say the rooms are both in your name. Then, when you check in, you will be the one doing the trick. However, keep this in mind, if you are looking for two rooms next or near to each other, that may limit your "luck" and at best you might get the room you booked, but on a higher floor with a better view. However, if you are open to being on different floors with different types of rooms, then you have just increased your chances for a better room! Karolina, great question! I think it all depends on the original room that you have reserved and what other room options they have that are "better" than the room you reserved. I would stick with $20, and just ask, "I was wondering if you had any complementary upgrades of a larger room that we can have please, that can accommodate my family of 4?" Aloha Cadinha! It's funny to see this lovely greeting....because I just booked a trip to Hawaii for Feb!! Anyhow, I would definitely give it a try. The best that can happen is you get upgraded to a spectacular room, or to a room that is slightly better than the one you book, or at the least they may give you some free amenities or something. However, if they can't do anything for you, they will give you your money back. It's worth a try! You'll be in Vegas...so let that be your first gamble of your trip!! I tried this at the stratosphere this summer and it did not work! Got put in a bad room which was smoking, having booked a non smoking room, and they swapped it next day, but not for a particularly better one, despite giving the tip!

Hello Ronald! That is a good question. Sadly, NYNY is not as "high end" as it once was. Many of the newer hotels have stolen that title away from NYNY and a few others. So, my advice for you, is stick with $20, but try to check in at the start of the check-in time, if not a little before. Just follow my advice I gave in this video and you will do fine. Trust me. +Go Live It Up So from the results i know he upgraded me to a room with more space cause they didn't have any bigger rooms. We originally had two queens but gave us a room with 1 king with more space and a complimentary roll away bed with no charge which was nice. Weird thing I noticed was that when he gave my card and ID back, the $20 was still in there and he knew it was in there when I gave it to him and decided to give it back anyways. I was thinking the whole time "why didn't he take it?" Anyways as a kind gesture I gave him the $20 just of the free upgrades (but didn't tell him that of course) I did the right thing right? However, when you check in and do the trick, after you hand them your ID/Card "sandwich"....I would say, "My spouse and I are here in Vegas for the 1st time for our 5 year anniversary...." and then go into the rest of request as I spoke about in my film. Hello Hally...the short answer is "yes" they do and what sort of an upgrade you get all depends on the numbers of nights you are staying and when during the week you are staying. Ohhhhh...good question! Well, it does work at Harrah's. However, if you are going on a busy holiday weekend, your chances lessen. Let's say you want a room upgrade (of the same type of room you booked) on a higher floor...they may be able to accommodate that. But, if you want a whole other type of room or suite...that might be more tricky. Depending on when you check in, is going to be key and also remember that if they can't upgrade your room, see if they have any other types of complementary upgrades like tickets to The LINQ, Shows, Restaurants, Buffets, or even the Spa for you and the other people in your party. When all is said and done, if they are not able to get you any type of upgrades....they will give you your money back. So, it's worth a try! Hey Jenn! This is what I advise. Since the Strat is a lower end hotel...I would just stick with the $20 and give it a try. However, the two rooms need to be reserved in one person's name. If not, then I would advise that you and your friends check in together and each of you give the receptionist a $20 each and request an upgraded conjoining room. I did the trick there about a year ago (I still need to upload the film for that trip), but I just booked the cheapest room and got upgraded to one of the newer rooms on the top floor with a full view of the strip! TSgt, this is my advice to you since it is the same weekend as a huge event. If you arrive at Aria at the start of the check in time (or even a little before hand), then try $50. However, if you are arriving later at night, just go with the $20. Even, if it is a busy weekend, you might still be able to get a higher-up room with a pretty sweet view for $20; but if you arrive early at do $50, you might get something a little better. Hello Robertino2001! To be honest, I wouldn't waste $50 at a hotel like the Linq. I feel $20 is the right amount for the Linq. Now, if you were staying at a more higher end hotel like the Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, or Aria (ones that have rooms that range in price between $800-$1000+ a night)...then I was say go for it and see what happens. But, the Linq is a moderate range hotel with not so many "thrills" as the higher end hotels, so there is no need to do $50. At the Linq you might get a lower floor room with no view before you do the trick; however, after the trick, you will most likely get one on a higher floor, with some sort of awesome view, and the room may have larger square footage. If you try it, please let me know what happens!! Thanks!

Yes I did. It worked and we got a free view upgrade, though she did try to upgrade the room nothing was available.

Hello Betzy! Yes, the upgrade will work, because you will have to check in to the hotel, no matter who you book it through. I book my hotel stays through Hotels.com, but when I check in it has nothing to do with them. So, when you get to the hotel, just do the trick and ask, "I was wondering if I could please get a complementary upgrade to a room on a high floor with 2 beds?" This should do it. Hi Thanks for watching! If both reservations are in 1 name, then the person who's name the reservation is under must do the trick. In that case...only do $20. However, if they are 2 separate reservations, then the 2 people should go to the clerk together and do the trick at the same time...with each person giving $20. Does this make sense? Christopher, I have never stayed outside of the Las Vegas area. However, why don't you give it a try and see what happens. The worst that can happen is that they give you your $20 back and say sorry. Yeah!!! It worked but they didn't upgrade the suite cuz it was full but they didn't charge the hotel suite!!! Thanks for the tip!!!
I do this all the time but when we stayed at the Flamingo it did not work.
Car...I want to thank you for the confirmation that this trick works! However, I am sorry that it did not work for you at the Flamingo. You must had got a new employee that didn't know they were allowed to receive tips and give upgrades. I will try to book a room there in the coming months and try it again. I have stayed there a few times in the past, did the trick, and received an upgrade with no problem. So, keep an eye for that Flamingo video during this summer sometime. I feel ripped off. Did this “trick” and got charged $200 extra for a suite that isbt even worth that much. Ended up paying $600 for $400 room @ Luxor. 😔😒

You could try it for the resort fee. It would be worth your while if you are staying more than 3 nights. Most resort fees range from $30-$50 bucks. So, it would be like you are paying for a fraction of one night, but getting the rest of your nights free with no resort fees. So give it a try. The worst that can happen is that they say, "No." Good luck!

WOW! 3 weeks...that is a long time in Vegas! Are you a performer? The longest I have stayed is 1 week. However, I find the $20 trick works best for shorter stays...you get more bang for the buck, especially if you are staying mid-week. Well thanks for watching Absolute Muppet!

It never hurts to ask! I've been combing YT for tips and several have said IF no upgrades are available to ask for that as a concession. If you just want that up front I'd say you have a good shot! Good luck!

Also, when you are there, there is a restaurant a few feet next to the Stratosphere called Tacos Mexico.....they have the best tacos in Vegas! Jonathan! YES! It has worked for me and many others there. I booked a basic cheap room, but because I checked in on a Friday...the best they could do me was the same room, but on a higher floor with a strip view. Which is a couple hundred dollars more than the one I had booked. Just follow my steps in this video and you should do fine. Please let me know what happens when you try it!

Hello DMlloyd01 ! You pay for whatever you booked. So, let's say you booked a basic room at Bally's for $49 a night, then that is what you pay. When you do the $20 trick, that is a tip for the front desk clerk and in return, in most cases, he/she will give you an upgrade to either a room on a higher floor with a strip view....to anywhere to a room that is 2-3 times more the nightly rate as the one you booked. However, all you will pay for it is that $49 a night!!! But keep in mind...many hotels in Vegas have "resort fees" that cover: pool, spa, gym, internet, etc....and you will still have to pay those fees, with or without an upgrade. Yet, they are usually a flat rate per-night of between $25-$55 a night. So, make sure you book the cheapest and always add in the "resort fees" when booking a room.
