We NEED you all to post that one panel of Jamie saying "...I need some C-4"!!!!! that needs to be on Letter-Shaped Upper Body Garments (Take THAT Bots!) and Stickers and EVERYWHERE! 🤣
Agreed! I feel the show wouldn't be the same without them. I can't say I can think of any other show that ever utilized blueprints (other than cartoons lol), so it makes it such a signature Mythbusters element! ❤ Granted z the show would be great still, but these just.... added to it so well! It summed up what was being tested in such a quick, succinct way, and set a mental stage in the viewer for what to expect.
Everyone on the MB team is a special talent. Even those who were constantly behind the scenes. The team was looking for props and everything else. One carriage is a barrel to be blown away)))
I had the joy of meeting Grant at a Los Angeles Halloween Party in 2012. I told him about a myth I had always thought would be interesting for them to test and he agreed, though at the time I assumed he was just kindly humoring me and my geeky fandom vibe being in his presence. I had no idea until today that Lane Weaving was actually tested! It aired initially in Australia in July 2013, nine months after my conversation with him! So cool!!
Reminds me of the good and exciting times watching Grant, Tory and Kari throwing something amazingly creative together in an amazingly short period of time! RIP Grant! You’re such an inspiration to young people
I was fortunate enough to get the Christmas special blueprint from the last charity auction. So happy to see other fans will have a chance to get one and help the charity.
@@zachmoyer1849 He never really was interested in being on camera from what I heard. I think he saw it as a necessary evil to do what they did on MythBusters. Even in the later seasons, Jamie look uncomfortable in some scenes.
Yea, he's around in some capacity. He recently did a couple videos with StalaTube, a Finnish tube steel company. They were cute and it was good to see the man again! _(which is what Irwin was referring to)_
Yessss!!! I remember the episode where you guys tested the myth / theory of rock skipping on the surface of the lake, only with something big and heavier - the cars. I like this episode; this is one of bunches of episodes that made Mythbusters one of my favorite show ever.
Car Skip is probably my favorite myth. I just love the thought that Hollywood could have had the real thing in their movie if they'd just had the guts and ingenuity.
Adam _did_ do some of the drawings. Watch: "Can Your Fillings Catch Radio? - Mythbusters - S01 EP104 - Science Documentary" at the 33 : 27 mark and the following minutes. Same skin, pale freckles; and the ring on the left little finger* is conclusive: you see him on the phone with the same ring on the little finger as he holds the receiver up to his ear. _____ * Curiously, in this present video, Adam and Eric have identical rings, but on their ring fingers. I find it highly unlikely _both_ would be in the habit of alternating where they had their rings.
thanks adam. among other things the white presto correction pen was the unsung hero. i remember watching a tested and immediately went out and bought a pair on amazon. first one has lasted so long and is used for everything, mainly now.... to differentiate between vape cartridges for my son. these were insane to go thru as the skipping car had the blonde (name escapes me) instead of kari... she went on to pursue a land speed record which in the end killed her. RIP
There's so much chemistry between them, just in the timing of how they sign a page and move to the next one. A show of true understanding between two people.
Loved to hear you guys talking about all of these lovely pieces of art but it was a bummer that when you were talking about themYou didn't have a full view of them for us to catch what you were talking about.
We NEED you all to post that one panel of Jamie saying "...I need some C-4"!!!!! that needs to be on Letter-Shaped Upper Body Garments (Take THAT Bots!) and Stickers and EVERYWHERE! 🤣
Speaking as someone who has seen a sled shaped roughly like a car (even had 4 wheels on the bottom) and heavier than a car fired off of an aircraft carrier catapult, they sure as hell CAN skip! I would love for Adam to do an episode on how blueprints work, and why they were the way they were. For those unable to wait, it's the same process as a mimeograph, just done optically instead of using the mimeographs typed master. We had an Ozalid white printer in high school (same as a blueprint, but it was blue on white, not white on blue). Meaning a white printer made a white paper with blue lines instead of a blue paper with white lines. Sucker was expensive to use, so we only did one white print a semester in drafting class.
In a sense, this was hard to watch seeing how it brought back so many memories. I recall watching the pilot episode when it first came out and I got hooked on it. Years later I became less involved with TV and into games (Teen years) but I always did enjoy mythbusters when I'd catch it on. Always wanted to submit some stuff about revisits for myths such as square wheels, flamethrower vs fire extinguisher. Adam, Jamie, Tory, Grant, Kari, Scotty are the mythbusters to me, people that cant be replaced or equaled if the show were to be rebooted. Sadly, they will never team up together again thats what makes me sad about it. Always wanted to go to a "Con" where they'd be at, never had money to do so. (Still dont! Dx )
We all know Adam and Jamie aren't the best friends but I think they don't hate each other. It's nice when Adam brings those Mythbusters members to talk about the show, maybe some day Jamie could be a guest. He doesn't seem to love being on camera but it would be great to see the duo together one last time.
Blue lines replaced blue prints in the 1940's. The reason is obvious to anyone who has tried to read blue prints. I did not know you could even purchase blue print paper.
Iconic scene of concrete truck pulling up I built foundations and pumped those and walls and precast southern style summer bomber hanger warehouse and test and inspect now and now that's all I see
Regarding the 50cal... Honestly, from watching Kentucky Ballistics and him doing close up shots on ballistic gel dummy torsos.... I believe all those things!! _(with fake bones and innards)_ He shot some military TRAINING rounds, which are plastic (even the bullet casing was 90% plastic!), and that also decimated the torso. But when he has them point blank, the expanding gas coming out, just eviscerated the torso, ripping it apart... Very shocking. Also did a test with a dummy head up next to the muzzle brake/compensator vent, which uses the exhaust thrusted backwards to mitigate recoil, and even THAT turned the head inside out... 🥺 So yep! I don't think "blowing shoes off" is a stretch to believe 😅 I would definitely heed those warnings to not fire it indoors - _especially_ at an indoor gun range, which is just a concrete echo chamber!
It bothers me how you used blue ink on blue paper for the signatures, lol you mean to tell me in that entire workshop you don’t have a black sharpie? Good luck and mad props to what you guys are doing!
2:20 I see those filled in wheels, I've MADE those filled in wheels, and I'll BET he messed those up, tried to salvage them, then scrapped the whole thing when that didn't work because I've DONE that! 🤣
8:25 - "one guy said he saw someone get Knocked Out Of Their Shoes by firing one" sup dawg, we heard you like bustin myths, so we put a myth inside of a myth so you can bust while you bust

It's gonna be a killer.
Eric's Blueprints were one of the most memorable "signatures" of Mythbusters. Eric's a great illustrator.

Oh my god, the good-time memories are just flooding back. 🥰
I can say without a doubt that Eric's sketches from Mythbusters are simply iconic.
I actually paused the video a few times to read the comic strip. It was amazing!
8:16 Man, this sounds SO much like a myth that they could've tested. Fits right in, and makes the nostalgia real...
exactly what i was thinking!!!!
Came here to comment that Adam's face was like: "Shoot, we should've tested this"
Grew up watching Mythbusters and now as a 20 year old I love watching your tested videos! Can’t wait to meet you at Fan Expo Vancouver Canada .

The exploding bumper is true. If you involve certain stresses to the shock absorbers behind the bumper it can violently decompress.

the car skip blueprint if I remember is one of the myths the late Jessie Coombs was in. She would have made a great permenant mythbuster.
Awesome 👏🏼

Great video sir
Did he also illustrated the MythToons? (I hope I got that right - finger in the barrel) I want more of that! :D
