Dear Ellena, may I ask you to show us how to style and accessorise light weight clothing for very hot weather 35⁰C+. Scarfs are impossiblely hot, as are multiple layers and boots. Even trainers are out of the question. It is challenging for all of us. A lot of my summer clothes are made of cotton voile fabric. It is actually cooler to cover up than wear tank tops and shorts as the fabric protects from sunburn and wicks away moisture.
Could you please make a video on how to style clothing with bags and shoes? Not only in the perspective of colors but also considering the structures and shapes. Shoes and bags always seem to be the hardest ones to match with the outfit!

Thank you for your informative videos. Please address how to be elegant in a semitropic area. I live in florida where at 9am the temp is already in the 80 to 90 degrees. Neck scarves, sweaters, and the layered look will cause heat stroke in less than an hour. Please help the over 60 ladies here.

Except for my university days, I've always lived in a tropical/sub-tropical climate that makes it so hard to use the "third layer" style tip. I LOVE blazers, sweaters, and cardigans but can only stand to wear them about 3 days out of the year. As an "apple" the third layer would be so helpful, but even lighter layers can be uncomfortable in +90 F. Can I please have some cheese with my whine? 😉
I've just discovered your videos and am really enjoying everything! I do want to ask you do make some high-heat summer styles. I live in New England (north east of US), while we get colder falls and springs and freezing winters, our summers are very hot and humid - I'd love some pointers since this season needs a lot of help not to look boring or overly casual. Please give this some consideration :)

For sure I’ve been using your tips to improve my style. All in my closet and forgotten vs unsure on how to combine them (scarves, button down shirts, etc). I realized most of my tops are tshirts, tops sleeveless and either black or white with some patterns. Button down are the more difficult to use for me as they either tend to open at the breast level, or when sitting tend to inflate as a balloon. Shirts are tricky. Do you have any hints/recommendations to meake them more user friendly? Thanks
Really enjoying your videos. Wondering if you can discuss dressing with health issues…such as footwear with bunions and arthritic big toe, knee replacement and knee brace, and I also use an abdominal brace. All this makes wearing a long dress the only option to hide all the under braces such as knee and abdominal. Footwear with stiffer sole. Layering with a large bust is NOT an option. Wish you would discuss busty women who are short waisted.
in the outfit with neutral beige silk long skirt, adding the long cream sweater cuts you in half until you added the cropped trench which visually creates the 1/3 - 2/3 proportion. Loved the look but is it practical?If you remove the trench because it is too warm indoors, the awkward proportion returns. How do you manage that style conundrum? Do you keep a belt in your bag? Same question about the next look with a long black vest layered over black wide leg trousers. For that outfit you were cut in half at the hem of the vest. Even though there is continuous black and not a harsh line of contrast, would the outfit be further improved by applying the 1/3 - 2/3 rule with a short vest or defining your waist with a chain belt or something? I have a large bust too and I use a V-neck t-shirt instead. It doesn't have to be very deep, just showing a bit of skin there makes everything looks better and the overall vibe is the same. Then, you could go for white because it is not so close to your face, but I have also find that cream or ecru work just as well as white as basic colors. But I would pair them with blue jeans one or two shades darker, just my preference
I also look drained in white and have a full bustline. I agree about a V-neckline tee in ivory, beige, or cream, which has a yellow under base color. Having your colors done can help you find what your ‘white’ shade is for your complexion. I am ‘Autumn’ in coloring. We can wear any color bottoms. But what is next to our faces is what determines our best colors. I also agree that a dark wash denim is what I would wear for myself, age 75, and not a pale blue. To me, it is a younger color and more casual for my style. I live in a dry climate but cold winters, hot summers. Colorado has cooler nights and summer can be in 100 degree range. She is showing here more Fall/Winter season clothing. In summer I would layer with a necklace vs a scarf. If you are cool tones in face wear silver or white gold, platinum. My skin is light with golden undertones. I wear either gold or rose gold earrings. But I go wear white metals sometimes. It’s not set in stone these rules. Often fabric stores can help you locate someone to get your colors done locally and help you identify what is your season. Fall is warm tones. Winter is cool tones. We can choose to wear any metal colors. But our complexions are either cool or warm. And hair color also determines what clothing colors look best on us. I am a retired accountant and not a stylist. But I always ‘wowed’ my co-workers at the corporations. Also try vertical stripe tops/blouse vs a horizontal strip. They are out there. I am really learning a lot from Ellena’s color combinations she puts together. I am enjoying her videos. This is my experience with fashion and colors. I understand the layering of different types of colours and fabrics,,but to be honest hanging a sweater over a sweater in Vancouver Island, Canada looks a bit weird and it’s also too hot to do in spring and summer.
Regarding outfit 4 - It looks gorgeous on you, Ellena, but I wonder if it looks the same on someone like me who has an hourglass figure and not as thin as you are. What do you think? Wouldn't a tighter top be a better option for curvier ladies (I'm asking because I have a similar skirt and I'm not sure which top to pair with it)?

I think if you have 30% of your clothes basics in all the silloettes you love in neutral colours black white, cream,grey & camel then 30% same sort of basics and sillotte pieces but in colours and patterns red blue green stripes checks then 20% statement pieces 15% outerwear and 5% shape wear and seamless underwear this is not including accessories and footwear 😂❤ but you should then always have something to wear and not bland boring colours and silloettes really beautiful outfits ❤
I definitely have black pants and blue jeans, but I'm not a beige person or stripe person. I don't call striped fabric prints either. Stripe is stripe; prints are like florals and geometric patterns.

Layering is cute, but you go from easy summer outfit, T-shirt and jeans, to cold spring one, including a trench coat. Will not work for summer. All your looks are pretty, but will not work for hot weather. And all stylists keep recommending layering.

Thank you for your informative videos. Please address how to be elegant in a semitropic area. I live in florida where at 9am the temp is already in the 80 to 90 degrees. Neck scarves, sweaters, and the layered look will cause heat stroke in less than an hour. Please help the over 60 ladies here.

Except for my university days, I've always lived in a tropical/sub-tropical climate that makes it so hard to use the "third layer" style tip. I LOVE blazers, sweaters, and cardigans but can only stand to wear them about 3 days out of the year. As an "apple" the third layer would be so helpful, but even lighter layers can be uncomfortable in +90 F. Can I please have some cheese with my whine? 😉

I've just discovered your videos and am really enjoying everything! I do want to ask you do make some high-heat summer styles. I live in New England (north east of US), while we get colder falls and springs and freezing winters, our summers are very hot and humid - I'd love some pointers since this season needs a lot of help not to look boring or overly casual. Please give this some consideration :)

For sure I’ve been using your tips to improve my style. All in my closet and forgotten vs unsure on how to combine them (scarves, button down shirts, etc). I realized most of my tops are tshirts, tops sleeveless and either black or white with some patterns. Button down are the more difficult to use for me as they either tend to open at the breast level, or when sitting tend to inflate as a balloon. Shirts are tricky. Do you have any hints/recommendations to meake them more user friendly? Thanks

Really enjoying your videos. Wondering if you can discuss dressing with health issues…such as footwear with bunions and arthritic big toe, knee replacement and knee brace, and I also use an abdominal brace. All this makes wearing a long dress the only option to hide all the under braces such as knee and abdominal. Footwear with stiffer sole. Layering with a large bust is NOT an option. Wish you would discuss busty women who are short waisted.

in the outfit with neutral beige silk long skirt, adding the long cream sweater cuts you in half until you added the cropped trench which visually creates the 1/3 - 2/3 proportion. Loved the look but is it practical?If you remove the trench because it is too warm indoors, the awkward proportion returns. How do you manage that style conundrum? Do you keep a belt in your bag?
Same question about the next look with a long black vest layered over black wide leg trousers. For that outfit you were cut in half at the hem of the vest. Even though there is continuous black and not a harsh line of contrast, would the outfit be further improved by applying the 1/3 - 2/3 rule with a short vest or defining your waist with a chain belt or something? Thanks for your excellent videos. I wish I had your lessons when I was 20!

I have a problem...I look absolutely gastly in the ' round neck white t shirt '....I have a larger bust so the round neck does me no favours and the colour white drains me!!!

I have a large bust too and I use a V-neck t-shirt instead. It doesn't have to be very deep, just showing a bit of skin there makes everything looks better and the overall vibe is the same.
Then, you could go for white because it is not so close to your face, but I have also find that cream or ecru work just as well as white as basic colors.
But I would pair them with blue jeans one or two shades darker, just my preference
I also look drained in white and have a full bustline. I agree about a V-neckline tee in ivory, beige, or cream, which has a yellow under base color. Having your colors done can help you find what your ‘white’ shade is for your complexion. I am ‘Autumn’ in coloring.
We can wear any color bottoms. But what is next to our faces is what determines our best colors.
I also agree that a dark wash denim is what I would wear for myself, age 75, and not a pale blue. To me, it is a younger color and more casual for my style.
I live in a dry climate but cold winters, hot summers. Colorado has cooler nights and summer can be in 100 degree range.
She is showing here more Fall/Winter season clothing. In summer I would layer with a necklace vs a scarf.
If you are cool tones in face wear silver or white gold, platinum.
My skin is light with golden undertones. I wear either gold or rose gold earrings. But I go wear white metals sometimes. It’s not set in stone these rules.
Often fabric stores can help you locate someone to get your colors done locally and help you identify what is your season. Fall is warm tones. Winter is cool tones.
We can choose to wear any metal colors. But our complexions are either cool or warm. And hair color also determines what clothing colors look best on us.

Also try vertical stripe tops/blouse vs a horizontal strip. They are out there.

I understand the layering of different types of colours and fabrics,,but to be honest hanging a sweater over a sweater in Vancouver Island, Canada looks a bit weird and it’s also too hot to do in spring and summer.
I agree. It is so impractical to layer a sweater over another sweater. Plus, it's another piece to be constantly fussing with.

Regarding outfit 4 - It looks gorgeous on you, Ellena, but I wonder if it looks the same on someone like me who has an hourglass figure and not as thin as you are. What do you think? Wouldn't a tighter top be a better option for curvier ladies (I'm asking because I have a similar skirt and I'm not sure which top to pair with it)?

I'm a 16/18. Not sure larger pants will be slimming me down...just the opposite. I'll stick to straight leg.
I think if you have 30% of your clothes basics in all the silloettes you love in neutral colours black white, cream,grey & camel then 30% same sort of basics and sillotte pieces but in colours and patterns red blue green stripes checks then 20% statement pieces 15% outerwear and 5% shape wear and seamless underwear this is not including accessories and footwear 😂❤ but you should then always have something to wear and not bland boring colours and silloettes really beautiful outfits ❤

Layering is cute, but you go from easy summer outfit, T-shirt and jeans, to cold spring one, including a trench coat. Will not work for summer. All your looks are pretty, but will not work for hot weather. And all stylists keep recommending layering.
