Man my first Miata had the exact same specs, same color, same softtop, same steering wheel, just the wheels were different. Sadly the front structure had rust directly were the dampers are mounted to the frame and i had to trash it shortly after, leasons learned!
the 6 speed in the miata is the bane of my existance, such a love hate relationship plus side a nice knotchy 6 speed, downside a gear box that loves to not find the proper gears 70% of the time
I think the only reason why it "doesn't work" in the USA is the lobby dollars given to those in power by companies that would be hurt by these trains. There's little political will to change things when your party is delivered millions of dollars a year. Political parties need that money to stay in power, and so even if they are not being told directly- they won't do things that are against the interests of their top donors. It might even be cost-competitive if government subsidies were removed from airlines, oil companies, and auto manufacturers.
