    They dont suck. They are just different. Youll never make an ICE car have the low end of an electric, and an electric will never give you that mean v8 growl.

      And you’ll never have the range refresh of an ICE in a pure EV. Everything has its place

      The next gen batteries are literally coming to market in the next 3 years, and charging circuitry is limited by batteries, not power flow.
      In 10 years, which is literally nothing in terms of technology advancement in the past, we will likely have cars that can charge in 3-5 minutes with a 700+ mile range, and a 0-60 in under 2 seconds.
      We already have major car companies (toyota) annoucing 745 mile ranges with 10 minutes to 80% charge times on vehicles they plan to bring to market in 2027.
      So....

      @@iso-c ICE enthusiasts I know say that it is important for them to be able to drive like a 1000km continuously. I think that is mostly a fake requirement because in reality they will not drive more than three hours before needing a break anyway. Currently I think the main reason for 1000km range is that during major holidays you will have problems with the charging infrastructure if everyone would drive electric.

    Heres your engagement for the algorithm.... they are the perfect daily for people on a budget (imagine a big golf cart you take to work) . The part that sucks is they are not budget people friendly. They focus too much on luxury and less on utility. They could easily limit power to increase battery longevity and make them simpler to reduce cost. But the companies that own them are greedy and don't care about that.

  • @chrisdavidson911
    @chrisdavidson911 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    It's not like engines are perfect, companies have been making them for over a hundred years and they still have timing gear problems and other "known issues" that shouldn't exist any more. The Ford 3 valve with the oil blockages, things like that.
    For some people electric is ideal, for others it's useless.

    EVs and v6 and v8s have their own place. the sound of a supercharged V8 gets me wood, but you fork over your wallet at the gas station more frequently than a EV needs to stop to charge. they each have their own place.
    Unless we are talking about the mustang EV. That thing is a abomination.

      @TheRealStrikerofLife 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree. and in What context. Like yes if we are talking extreme long range Electric will need to take lounger due to needing to charge. but just how often are you travelling from Montreal to Toronto (550 KM)?. Chances are your average trip is 25-50 KM round trip. and sometimes you got 250 KM.
      So in terms of not being there since your long range trips are maybe 1-2 per years electric car's are more then suited to modern life.
      Like how often does the average Canadian/American go cross country or even more then 1-3 counties over?
      Like yes if all you focus on is the range there not as good, but if you think for the average person who can do at home charging there better. (note this is only the case if you can charge at home)

    Biggest issue with EVs right now is battery tech is still not where it needs to be. An ICE vehicle will go the same mileage for over 10yrs with basic maintenance. EVs however have battery degradation and that range slowly lowers. Temperature, weather, driving style, and charging routines all have an effect.
    Diesel electric however gives you that raw electric power while still maintaining the long range. Your vehicle also becomes more efficient as you run a generator at its optimum RPM. The future for cars is nuclear far in the future. But I'm still looking forward to hydrogen.

    • @zachmoyer1849
      @zachmoyer1849 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, the propulsion is not the issue, so no, lol. Any successful system could be applied to anything, really, as long as it has whatever sensors and cameras are required. Self-driving technology is like 95 percent there, but it turns out that the last 5 percent is a mother trucker. There are so many non-standard scenarios encountered in the real world that it is proving difficult to account for them all through training data alone. I don't think we will see a fully developed product until they have a system that can truly see something it has never seen before and still make the correct decision. This is in the works but likely still a ways off.

    They suck, because they build them with low battery range. If they would use different batteries that last longer, and have shorter recharging times, then yes, EVs would be better.

    • @Capthrax1
      @Capthrax1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      they have decent range and batteries last a reasonable amount of time.
      Increased capacity, Longer cycle , quicker recharge time and cost are all in competition with each other.
      How much range do you need? base model teslas will drive 3 hours on the freeway before needing to be charged, another brand has a EV with twice that range.

    Some people having a shed full of of ICE cars is perfectly fine. Tinker with them, drive them on the weekend, race, whatever. But boring daily miles are perfect for electric.

  • @1985Cookiedude

    The problem will always be that electric cars won’t have second hand value and so will never dominate the automotive landscape, they will have their place somewhere but eventually something else with less issues will win the day. I’m gonna guess synthetic or hydrogen but it won’t be electric purely because of the issues with mining the exotic materials and the child labour problems in Africa🤷‍♂️

    I love electric cars. Unlike most posers, I actually care about accelerating fast. It’s what makes cars fun for me. It used to be “electric cars are slow, they’ll never compete with muh 350hp mustang!” And now that electric cars are fast it’s “it was never about speed, it’s about the experience”
    Sure bud, cope. I’d rather drive a 70 camero with an electric motor swap that does 0-60 in the 2’s than drive the same 70 camera with a 350 Chevy POS that makes maybe 400hp and 0-60 in 5-6 seconds.
    Admit it, all the car guys that like ICE cars more than electric never cared about speed, they cared about being obnoxiously loud under the pretense “but it had to be to be fast!”

      its not ideal putting the batteries in the trunk or in the engine compartment is not the safest thing in the world since they are basically guaranteed to be damaged in a bad collision and catch fire it can also interfere with the original crumple zone design of the car unless you are talking more like classic cars then ur just screwed anyways.
