Alright guys, read your comments and here is just my thought process in regard to rules for the series.
The whole point is to showcase new structure decks every episodes. Something new a refreshing each time. The gems being bought are meant to just be used to unlock 3 of each structure decks and nothing more. The rest is essentially free to play.
Crafting rule : I feel like it makes the most sense to be able to dismantle cards to gain CP. Mind you, I still have to get lucky to pull UR and SR from Master Packs. Every 3 UR/SR is essentially any 1 UR/SR . I also want this to be the most realistic as possible, because why wouldn’t anyone on Master Duel not being able to CRAFT cards by dismantling the useless ones. Again the restrictions is I have to buy master packs and nothing else - and using only the FREE GEMS I’ve obtained on SOLO/Rankings. The whole goal is to showcase each deck and their strengths and try to climb up rank using essentially free earned gems. I feel like Freely crafting helps with the strategy.
What do you guys think? Just trying to make this as realistic as possible!
In my opinion? I think you should only freely craft cards that support the structure deck you're currently playing, cards that would be allowed like the tier wheel with seereax, but a little more lenient (Like when you dueled Seereax and he used Ally of Justice, and you forbad him from using "DNA transplant". You should be able to run supporting cards like that since it directly impacts your archetype/strategy). For generic staple cards like Ash Blossom or Maxx "C", you should put all those cards on a wheel. When you get promoted (and maybe demoted) you get to spin that wheel, and whatever it lands on, you're allowed to craft.
Maybe lose access to your staples when you lose all 5 lives and have to dismantle them.

@@waterman034nah man, I think those rules are not for this kind of challenge. This isn’t a friendly competition between 2 people under the same restrictions(like Sam vs Searax), Sam has to compete against unrestricted players who use all the broken staples and meta cards. You can still show off the strength of the archetype related to the structure deck with Max C and Ash Blossom , those cards just put you on an even playing field
Staying in the master packs gives access to useless cards so why shouldn't you be able to dismantle them, Honestly you should be pulling from the structure deck packs and using support for said cards
Do like 5 entire solo mode missions max per episode (pretty sure u can do each one in 10 minutes but it does depend on the mission) and maybe u can use the staples from that too since they're basically free and still goes with the basis of the challenge
Yeah, crafting cards are fair so long as the main play still revolves around the main structure deck. I really like this content idea too. All contents recently are bangers, Sam.
If I were to make a rule around card crafting, it would be that you can craft an SR with every level up but can only craft a UR with every Rank Up.
Alternatively, could be a rule that dismantling is restricted to 3 cards per level up while Crafting is reserved for Rank Ups. (Rookie Rank being the exception of doing both early game)
But you can craft any card so long as you have the resource, so if you want a staple that complements the current structure deck, you can craft it, or you can save them for the next Structure Deck (reason I add the staples is to give people a fighting chance in plat and maybe diamond)

You can make any deck as a new account… I made yubel, branded, and many others before level 7.
This is the F2P experience is like if you know what to go towards in MD. I like this idea of 3x Structure Deck and getting the free gems they give you through completing quests/solo rewards along with crafting to make them better.
The 5 strike rule is a great idea to showcase the power of these structure decks and have a nice variety of strategies being shown in ranked duels, showing progress and the viability of structure decks in MD. The only restriction really is to only stick to the primary strategy of the structure deck and not deviate from that. I guess engines that work in tandem with the overall strategy is fine, but not carry the structure deck.
This will be a good test to see how well these structure decks are in competitive, looking forward to it!

Cool idea. Gem farming in solo seems fair, and crafting cards as long as the structure deck is the focus seems fine too. As far as getting the other structures, if you're farming for gems in solo mode then it'll just take time. Add the new structures as you unlock them. Maybe release the farming and unlocking as a companion series, or just the highlights in this one.
This was pretty fun to watch, can't wait to see what you do with some of the DOG structure decks like Cipher. excited for when you roll Dragon Maid tho.

I think you could make it so if you lose a duel you get to open 10 master packs and craft up to 3 cards. If you rank up like from silver to gold, you can open a bundle instead of 10 master packs. Otherwise if you can open packs and craft whenever you like, it doesn't feel like much of a challenge.
to get the solo structure packs i suggest that you have to play the solo mode and gain one copy of it and you are allowed to craft more copies of only the cards in the structure deck
also i think every new tier you get you can get stables from the once special packs (like ash or impurm) and only one copy you cant craft it
Just gonna say this for this type of series probably doing solo mode is gonna help for gems and secret packs that might help the decks
Feels like we’re getting closer to a functional Master Duel Nuzlocke but I don’t think we’re 100% there quite yet. I think ANY FORM of crafting/targeting pack pulling should be forbidden tbh. It removes the random generator factor. But using all free gems towards Master Packs/Bundles is fair.

This kinda goes to show how ranking up in the lower ranks of master duel is a pain. You always get people who create alt accounts, use the gems you get as a beginner to create OP decks and wash everyone in the rank. It’s annoying sometimes.

@@LeoLeo- Except we're talking about rookie to gold, there are people that don't want to blitz to diamond but play a bad fun rogue deck and play against other decks that newbies cooked up, playing meta just isn't for some people. Seeing snake-eye in bronze is a pain in the ass for someone playing something like OG heros with like nova master and the original elemental hero fusions. I've made branded and salamangreat to play in meta, but sometimes when you come back you've deranked and wanna just try something bad to level the playing field. Using meta in the lower ranks just feels bad, like if you're in bronze and planning on ranking back up why not try blue-eyes for a bit until you hit plat?

Might actually not be always "Smurfs", some could actualy be returning players, started 2 seasons ago at Rookie as well and just rushed to Diamond with Swordsoul. But yeah lower Ranks are also just a mixed bag, sometimes you run into Normal summon set 2 Pass and sometimes you run into Snake Eyes in Gold.
Just a lot of people who can't really afford to make new decks make new accounts cause it's easy to make almost any deck you want that way if you play for free anyway I do it myself sometimes when there's a deck I want to play but can't afford to

I actually had been thinking about something like this recently when I went up to my cottage and started a fresh account on my xbox. I was forced to use only the bundles, packs that were in season at the time, and structure decks when I could afford them. It was a lot of fun piecing my deck together. Maybe you could do some solo or event event stuff to earn the gems that you need and open a legacy pack every time you win? Maybe you could unlock the bundles?

I feel like you should use the original structure decks from 2005 -2007 like Dragon’s Roar update the deck to the current format and keep the boss monster in the deck
Fun idea, some comments.
Buying staple packs is fine since it's something a normal player would do.
You should be able to craft 1 staple (3 copies of any) after a loss. otherwise we just do the ame for every deck.
You should give each account a "Favorite archetype" where if you unlock a pack for it you can pull in it.
Do your best to avoid floodgates, while they might be effective there not fun to watch.

Smurfs will always be a thing in any multiplayer games.
The people complaining about it need a paradigm shift: see it as an opportunity to play a much higher ranked player and learn from the way they play and built their decks.
If you don't want to get crushed in ranked and only want to have fun, just play casual. It's there for a reason.

I liked playing ranked earlier this year just for fun and it was pretty alright. Got back into it n tried playing ranked, people are SWEATYYYYYYYYY, I can’t even enjoy it anymore

I think in regards to crafting, it depends on what you want the series to be. If this is a challenge like masochist or something, then you probably shouldn't craft. If this is meant to showcase the structure decks and show people how to build cool decks, using the structure decks as an affordable core, then I wouldn't have a problem crafting the handtrap staples and critical pieces that support the deck. As long as you are still fundamentally playing primarily the structure deck. I suppose you could make a rule that like 30 cards must be from the structure deck or something.
This concept is cool
spellbook should get a new spellbook of judjement where you can set your spells instantly from deck during the end phase cause they are a bit slow for the meta, and spellcasters that retrieve themselves or have quick effects durind your opponent's turn. Basically, support that works around judgement and your opponent's turn more, cause it feels like dark magician, banish and floodgate at best

I really like the idea, I'm actually curious to know if going to master with a structure deck is even possible. Btw I think you should be able to play solo mode for the gems and free cards, there is some staples in this mode that can be quite helpfull.

What if you and Mr. Seereak create a new account and start dueling from the deck you pulled from the Legecy Pack?The loser can ban one card from the winner and the winner can draw 1 times. and that continues until, I don't know, because there are a lot of cards in Yu-Gi-Oh...
limit lives to at most 3, ban some cards from being crafted or only be able to craft cards related to structure deck. currently the challenge is way too easy

solo mode is fair. cuz they give you cards/gems. it takes a bit to get rolling but i am still f2p. solo mode helped. and from there the battle pass helps a lot too
