So, should something be done to address the counter-play? It's feeling kind of cheap that either duelist can just hate draft something into their deck to counter the other. Maybe the bracket should be scrapped in favor of a wheel to keep this from happening a third time..?

I mean, technically, Yugi did use card destruction. But there would be no other reason why Sam would have that card other than to counter Seereax. 😂
And thats why Seereax is better. He builds the deck to make his stronger or better or unique. But Sam throws in cards to hard counter the other deck since he knows what it is.

That’s actually not true. BLS benefits from have light and dark monsters, and sometimes normal monsters, in the grave. Plus, BLS can recur spells from the grave so he can basically draw cards and advance his game plan for free.
Card Destruction in his deck makes perfect sense. It also presents a risk because it helps an Exodia deck to have pieces in the grave. It’s extremely unlikely for a non-OTK Exodia deck to draw all five pieces so they tend to play the GY strategy instead.
He definitely "side decked" for this duel 😂
The little soldier's also give the rituals bonus effects when used as material... people saying he played card destruction for the banish effects are reaching. You're meant to use them as material to get bonus effects on your monster and then banish them after to get more advantage. Not turbo them to the gy for half of their effects.

I'm a black luster soldier player and danger bigfoot and card destruction aren't anything I ever use but they agreed to have a certain amount of staples and all that.

Can we just talk about how Seereax legit mentioned the last time Sam used BLS he had a specific card he’d never use cuz of the matchup and then again Sam uses card destruction when he would never use it if it wasn’t an exodia matchup
Except the little warriors like being banished from the gy so they can activate, so its a good way to get them out of hand. Seereax was also using card des btw.
The level 4 monsters get effect when banished and one of them banishes them when in GY. Super soldier synthesis reborn BLS ritual monsters and so does the other ritual monster. BLS envoy wants monsters in the gy. Finally, card destruction is a yugi card. How are you this wrong?

In order to win with Exodius, you cannot use Obliterate or any other cards that put Exodia pieces in the graveyard. Exodus says you MUST SEND ALL 5 PIECES USING THIS EFFECT TO WIN.
I haven't finished the video yet, but watching Sam play BLS is pure pain. The amount of misplays is insane. I'm in the third duel where he summoned the new BLS ritual. He banished a Magus, and he didn't attack. There was nothing preventing him from attacking.
Deion used one day of peace the turn before so Sam wouldn't have done any damage

I know thats his extra staple cards, but Sam uses that to get access to his extra deck (which is wrong way to go about it as the x deck is just a back up) where Reax builds his extra deck over everytime to suit his deck, which is why he just builds better decks.

Lol, to settle it, Card Destruction 100% was used to counter Exodia. Not only are there other ways to get the Beginning and Evening knights in the grave, the optimal summoning requires one to be in hand so you get the added effects of both when you use Synthesis to ritual summon. Lets you ban multiple cards on field and in hand if you have multiple copies. Yes, they get help you get ritual monsters and ritual spells from the grave, but that’s secondary. And with the extra deck it’s also easy to link them away.
CD just stops Exodia ramp up and could potentially limit his own plays (like the game he ran out of ritual spells lol). Foolish burial goods does the job well, but with all that draw power CD should never be needed…

BALCK LUSTER SOLDIER is my absolute favorite Card. Love the artwork and whole ritual style of summoning. Just downloaded Master duel recently to try and get back in. I used to play before XYZ got introduced. First deck I made is BLS with some dark magcian thrown in having fun just wish I knew how to optimize my deck .

I think the tournament needs side decking. And for the rest of the tournament you're only allowed to change up to 15 cards from the main deck with your side deck.
Because, this whole I don't remember Yugi playing X is going to get old, and this countering the deck you're matched up against is kind of counter to the point of making the best BLS deck or the *cough* Best version of the Gadget/Chimera deck.
