- Here's the High-Grade 1/144 scale Gogg. This potato-esque Zeon mobile suit doesn't seem very intimidating... but it's got a certain charm I suppose!

Its cheap, and its goofy, but I personally love the arms and hands on this build. From strangling a Gundam, to flipping someone off, the Gogg has you covered!

I'm not going to be surprised if it was released as P-Bandai though.
They gonna make some slight cosmetic alterations on the old molds with no added articulations.
@@First-Name_Last-Name for me the problem isn’t them being a rehash of old models, cause I actually really like the old models despite them not being perfect, just really hoping it’s not p-bandai cause that’ll just ruin everything for me since I’ll never be able to get if it’s p-bandai.

That Thunder Acguys are somehow built using majority of parts of the HGUC kit and imho, looks great.
Imagine if Bandai somehow modified the old Acguy mold.
@@First-Name_Last-Name but that’s what they do in HOBBY JAPAN, there was a custom build Gundam Gremory in HJ and now bandai is making an official HG, with brand new parts. Also they could of used older kits with new parts for the thunderbolt line but they chose to make brand new kits instead, I think it’s highly more likely there will be new molds then retooling old ones, especially since those kits are really old and would be better off with newer ones
I purchased this kit in 2001 when I was 16. Twenty years later and I just bought another one. A timeless kit for sure and worth the $9USD.
It may be a janky suit but the monoeye bumps it up significantly, also probably the second cutest MS next to Acguy!
I remember being so intimidated by the Gogg, back in the day. Fighting them in one of the last missions in Journey to Jaburo on PS2. An encounter with a Zeke suit that had beam weaponry?? It was fierce.
Its just as deadly in GBO2 with the right pilots lol

Just ordered this kit yesterday. What a coincidence lol.
I ordered it last week since it was sold dirt cheap ($10 including delivery).
This was the only Zeon aquatic MS kit that I have not own.
Wish Bandai going to remake the MAM-07 Grublo MA kit though, since only the "retro version" kit was released.

My Hy-gogg arms are a bit floppy from the start. so it can't pose with lifted/outstretched arms.
@@First-Name_Last-Name Yeah I kinda expected the floppy long arms after moving the parts too much. I guess adding a bit of bluetack will help to tighten the joints.
Just built this kit
Got this kit a while ago for €4 and I love it. It’s so chunky and derpy. Kinda cute in a way.
It maybe chunky, derpy but it is also a terrifying suit to fight in the game Gundam battle operation 2.

I almost forgot that the rx 78-2 has a ball and chain weapon that it almost never uses and not featured in the various model kit I’ve seen on TH-cam.
One of the older kits has it. I believe it's in the starter kit that comes with the panel lining pen

I definitely like the weird Zeon suits so I guess I'm the target audience, but I for sure agree on it being a limited but interesting enough kit, considering how much it costs. Can also say that while it doesn't have a lot of details to panel line obviously, the ones it does have do look really nice once you're done. Specifically the ones on the feet/legs. Also it's pretty wild to build an $8 HG kit that has fully articulated hands.
I own a few, I see it as a monster design. A little dorky at first but they dont laugh when the claws and mega particle guns come out..
Zaku suits, especially aquatic suits are so goofy but lovable
Zock is a great kit for weathering lots of chipping and rust options. One of my favorite finishes I’ve managed to pull off.
Maybe it was the Hy-Gogg, or the action figure I had of it, but I really love Goggs. It's hard to explain why I love them so much, but they scratch an itch I have for mech designs that are not by any means common. Maybe it was influences a bit by Macross figures that were licensed for Exosquad back in the day, but I grew to love chunkier builds like this. I still need to work on my HG Hy-Gogg, but once I can learn everything I need to make it look spectacular, I will tackle the MSM-03 beauty. Maybe it will get a RG someday.
The aquatic type zeo suit are imo best for when your tired of the same ol gunpla layout and you need a lil nugget of variety
I just got my Gogg in yesterday. I think it might be cooler if you reviewed the Z’Gok Experiment since you have already built+reviewed the amazing Z’Gok.

Built this 20 years ago and I still have it. Funny you mention the joints, the knew joint took a hit during a move. Luckily, due to the design, other than a strange pose, the parts hold onto themselves. I would love the MG someday, just a wild design.
Love these old hguc grunt suits, I've already built a Rick Dom and a Z'Gok, plus I'm eyeing an Acguy at my local hobby shop.
thus makes me wish the Thunderbolt version of the Gogg got a kit, that thing looks more aggressive and muscular, plus has a Dom-style head design.

There's a lot of Thunderbolt mobile suits I wish had kits.
Especially the guncannon/ aqua , gm cannon , gm ground type c , ball marine type , gm marine type , gelgoog , and psycommu high mobility zaku.

I adore this suit. Other than the shins, there are very few troublesome seams, and it’s articulation is fun.
This was a fun kit to build. Great for younger builders too.

Didnt expect to see a review for this haha. I bought this for a cheap custom, cos i wanted to try scratchbuilding a moving mono eye. The joints in the legs wear down fairly quickly due to the bulk of the upper body.
Any chance you get a review for the HGUC Zeong?

I love the Gogg and Zock mostly for their comic relief value. It's like some Zeon designer totally went nuts.
Might be pretty cool to use some of those parts to upgrade the HG Devil Gundam.

I acknowledge that its a pretty goofy design. But idk, i just have a soft spot for the weird zeon designs.
Normally I buy kits to enjoy the build and appreciate the design. This is the kind of kit I would only buy to heavily modify or for completing a collection.
I though it was a amazingly fun little model, at least it was much better then I ever expected

I kinda wish they made a revive just to fix that mono eye thing. And if they did I hope they bulk it up but a little to make it more Menacing cu right now the hg looks kinda adorable. The MG looks more menacing.
If bandai ever made a revive version of the gogg, probably just go with the origin design. Far better design imo

Hey, hey lets not knock the zock. It may be an ugly design but it has a fun little charm about it. the kit even for being old does a lot of interesting things like with how the mono eye can be moved all around the head. For a good price id recommend giving the Zock a shot.
Don't mix up the thumbs and fingers and then glue the hands together, and then clean up the seam lines and then realize your mistake.

I love the Zeon amphibious mobile suits, but it's an acquired taste for sure. The Gogg, along with the Gelgoog, are my top picks for a HGUC revive model. Both kits look pretty dated.

Shame the original Zock is so ugly. The version that showed up in Journey to Jaburo (PS2 game) was way cooler.
Everyone critiquing this functional design whil gushing over the overdesigned tat with a billion spikes on the back, (if the spikes or parts fly off to fire lasers may as well invest in a fleet of fighters instead of a mecha!)
