Thank you for these tips. I had people tell me don’t push your hounds because they are young so I would ask them what pushing them was and nobody would really come out and tell me but this advise helped thanks.
Thank you bud, we just kinda put the pups in a place to have the opportunity to progress at theyre own pace. We let them do it in theyre own time. Makes better dogs.

Once they hit that year to two year old mark and only hunt 60-120 yards solo...how do you recommend I get her to hunt further out? She goes 2-500 yards with other dogs, just not solo.
Tie him, and swat your hat at him when he chews. But honestly is it a real problem or do you just not like it. If its not doing any real harm I wouldn't waste my time with it. Up to you
Need help training my 10 month old Walker pup to hunt raccoons don't have any older dogs to train with he will go out by himself at night not shy at all about hitting the woods any help will be greatly appreciated
I have a couple of questions. I’m just getting into the sport and getting two dogs. They are both female one is fixed the other not. Can you kennel two walker coonhounds together and is it ok for two females to be kenneled together and not separate? I know it sounds dumb but everyone I see that has multiple dogs have them all separated
I guess you could especially females. The pros to 2 sepkennels is more personal space for each plus sometimes dogs with access to same food bowls can get ill over food. So I guess you can fo it but probably best not too. Just my opinion definitely not a rule or anything

Well it can be done solo! 2 weeks ago Dawgy Dawg is 7 months now and tracked him a whole family! Coming through AK on a Potty break turned Coonhood break. He caught the smell and 50 yards through a parking lot (on a his lead in a strip mall )at 10.30 pm he was up on the smaller ones and the backdoor of a BBQ restaurant but got distracted by the employee. After some loving from someone he was serious Then circles to a tree by the drive through and seemingly sure but not confident. Keeps looking up after circling & off to the trash 🗑 about 10 feet away and up one side and down and then looks up the pines and strikes. But off to the drive through and tree again. He is 👃 down then smells the air then takes off to right under the dang thing on far end of a branch and I'm trying not keep my excitement from distraction and Dawgy even tried his hand at tree climbing! Hasn't looked back and dang it didn't even think to get my phone out for this potty break.
