I wish the mystery/thriller genre was more diverse, I'm always looking for more. It's part of the reason I started reading horror more than thrillers. Subscriber goals can be so scary since like you said, you can't completely control it but I'm cheering you on for 5k!!
Yeah I see far more diversity in horror too! I might dip my toes a little more into the horror waters, it just seems a little overwhelming since I know there are so many subgenres of horror! But if I can find something specific I like, that might scratch the itch I was trying to get from thrillers. Thank you Lexie!! 💕
I love listening to athlete memoirs (or sport themed books) WHILE exercising. If you want a book to combine several of your goals, consider reading "Running While Black" with me this year!
Great goals! I am trying to read my books. I also notice my favorite book of the month was not always a thriller and I was shocked. Plan on reading a little more romance and historical fiction this year.
Loved hearing your goals for this year! I think I also want to read less thrillers this year lol they have not been hitting recently and I'm feeling a bit burnt out on them lately
Yes, thrillers are feeling sooo over-saturated! I think I may also have to try more horror like you read, since it seems to be more naturally diverse and include more of a variety of types of stories!
The majority of my reads are historical in some way - I found a love for historical gothic thrillers last year! I do want to pick up more straight up historical fiction books this year though! I love your book subscription and ARC vlogs!
Love hearing about your stats. I have set my goal at 100 for the past couple years and gone slightly over. 😊 I just finished my first 5 star of the year and highly recommend it if you haven’t already read it. “The Happiest Man on Earth “ by Eddie Jaku. Definitely not something I would normally pick up but it’s an Amazing book and the audio book is outstanding. (-and pretty short). Happy reading ❤
I haven't actually written the list yet (wanna help?) but I want to do some unique prompts (similar to the Des Moines Public Library prompts) to encourage variety throughout the year!
Good luck on meeting your 2025 reading goals! I love your BOTM, AARDVARK and ARCS videos!!
Thank you!! 💕💕

These are such thoughtful goals. I love all the stats and details you track!
Thank you so much!! 💛💛

Deal!! Looks like I can get it through Libby with no wait, so anytime you want!

It’s so surprising how quickly thrillers get old 😅 that sounds like a great goal!
I couldn't agree more, Jordyn, I need to find more mystery/thriller BIPOC authors because I tend to enjoy the books more.👏
Right!!!

That is awesome! And thank you!!
I like how you talked about what the data showed you should change with your reading.
Kind of a bummer I didn’t hit my goals this year, but at least I’m aware and can always try to do better!
