Spring is Great for Evening Woodland Photography

  • One of the greatest pleasures of being a landscape photographer is being at one with nature as the sun rises and mist dances through the trees. However, often overlooked are the delights of finishing your day in the woods as the light dwindles, the birds sing and the light takes on a new feeling against the emerging foliage and the cool dry bark. I love the springtime for late evening wanders, so here's some insights and images from my recent woodland explorations.

Nice nice nice. I seemed to have gotten carried away with that slightly mundane word in this episode. There's better ways to describe the qualities of this wonderful time of year ;-) Hope you enjoyed the video, the images and a healthy dose of the woodland loving Meg :) Thanks again for watching and for your support!

That first composite tree, as I call it, also works so well it because it is in isolation, not amongst other mayhem that woods and forest of ten create left to nature’s own device! I love the advice and perspective you give. Thanks.

Wow Simon, that tree in the first image is just fantastic, as a horticulturist I am always amazed how nature always seems to come up with such beauty, how the old Oak plays host to others is amazing. What is equally impressive is how you visualised the image and managed to capture it. great job and thanks for sharing, now back to the video.

I've often moved my camera or had to do spot removal which sometimes isn't ideal never thought of this soultion lol!
