I will be hunting public land this year exactly like this. With ponds and small amounts of woodlots and lots of pasture. Thank you for this tips, they will definitely help me out!
This is quickly becoming my favorite series. Love that fact you show many different factors and approaches. This episode correlates well with plains and grasslands, two areas I hunt frequently. Great job.
I used to chase pheasants in a massive public block of open ground in SD. One side of it had a small, dense woodlot maybe 25 yards wide. It was absolutely littered with rubs and scrapes!
Ted better start curling some dumbbells with that left arm so it can catch back up to size with the right arm, lol. Glad to see it's healing up. Great episode as always! Season will be upon us before we know it
I hope a big woods one will be made! Always see field/beans being hunted, or farms/open country when I'm stuck in New England on big woods areas lol areas without swamps are the hardest for me.
A little tip. When you go into the woods do what ted does with his socks. Then put duck tape on it inside out with the sticky part out and it helps catch the ticks and they get stuck in the tape. Then you take the tape off and no ticks. It’s not full proof but it helps a lot. I think anyways.
Ted is wise to be tick conscious. I've had Lyme disease twice. First time was a long standing case and had both knees and elbow drained of fluid; the elbow never the same.Permethrin spray on clothing, a safe repellent on skin of face, neck, ears, hair line and wrists, also tuck cuffs into boots and shower and inspect yourself at home. Larval stage ticks are tiny and infectious. Lyme is also one of the chief causes of Bell's Palsy (facial paralysis), not a pretty picture.
Regarding ambush setups in your video, I heard you say that you’d set up in the wood lot hoping that the buck would make their way from the grass to the woods in the evening. But I’m assuming that that’s when they are bedded in the grass on their summer pattern? What about fall pattern when they aren’t in the grass and they are bedded in the wood lot? What’s the ambush set up? Is the only option to get to the wood lot in a stand super early in the morning hoping you beat the buck to its bed? That sounds dicey.
That's the kicker - we're not sure exactly where they'll be bedded in fall. Hence the reason for an observation hunt first. Then if we see they're still bedded in the grass, we'd setup in the woods. All depends on which spot they are using during that time.
On the stateland i hunt i seen 15 bucks a couple weeks ago. This area hasn't seen water like this, well in a lifetime. Its crazy "BUCKS RUNNIN THE SHWAMPS"
When observing an area from a high point. Do you have a rule of thumb for how long you will observe without seeing anything before you move on to another area?
Permethrin - I buy the concentrate from a local feed mill and dilute on water, this type of method creates years of "Home-Made Tick Solution". We made a vid on our TH-cam Channel if interested. Good vid btw.......
Saiyan Seeds ok I will and I don't believe that Mybe they can't read a eye chart at 500 yards but to say they can't see much past 20 yards that's BS. not trying to argue with you either your just misinformed if you believe that.
When THP uploads a video that might be my favorite notification.
Permethrin men. It's great for knocking those ticks off. That's exactly the type of habitat I hunted back east. Big fields, oaks and pines.
I was about to comment the same thing about permethrin. Sawyers does great work so you don't have to focus so much on ticks.

Please keep these coming out daily. So much fun to learn and watch
Can't wait for the season to get started ! Y'all find the best places for big bucks.

How much did you pay that buck to bed there and stand up while filming?
Teddy didn't look too enthralled with the ticks 😂it's ok ted, we all hate em me especially
See Ted is still running with the hat...Got to love it. Arm is getting better. Can you shoot your bow?
I haven’t seen much on hunting cattle farmland, I think that would be interesting
Just like GI JOE said " knowing is half battle" great video series enjoying keep it up!

And big woods with trails. Can get busted by someone just jogging/hiking
Outstanding! Thanks for posting.

You should make a video of getting your bows set up and shooting at the range like last year!!
Can’t beat that sign🦌

Hal Blood coined the phrase “sign post” after rubs that bucks use for year after year.
Awesome vid. 2 good bucks!
Permethrin! Use it! Good video btw
Can I send in my map and have you guys take a look at it and maybe make a video with it.. like Whitetail instinct
I use permethrin but having a simple lint roller helps a ton. Roll your clothes and it pulls them all off. Then discard!
Love hunting those kinds of places that “don’t look like they hold deer”. I exclusively hunt areas that don’t look as good on the maps.

We need more intros like that one! Haha
Hunt for bucks!
I'm praying for you guys and hope you have a great season. In Jesus name, amen.
Just curious if u guys ever try making mock scrapes and what ur take is on it on public land?
Just curious, who does the final tick check? :-)
When observing an area from a high point. Do you have a rule of thumb for how long you will observe without seeing anything before you move on to another area?
Love scouting hate the ticks I am usually covered in them
You guys don’t use permethrin on your clothes??? Also, any chance you’ll do a video on hunting big pieces of woods?
Nice buck grate video later thanks
Strip mine hunting is a lot like this

08/01, even closer ⌛️🎯🍽
Number your episodes again, please. Good stuff!
Lobo EL264MAG we actually just took them off so as not to confuse this year’s episodes with last year’s
The next one will be 3-19 and next year we can have the 20s series
I’m shipping you guys some lint rollers aka tick remover tool
Nice scar Ted
When’s the next episode?
tomorrow night
#bringbackthestache
Que the big buck......
What's crp?
El cropo?
Looks like I got to stop working for 12 mins
Duct tape, best way to get them off.
you guys are great but could y'all spend more time talking about bow setups and the thinks y'all like to use for hunting.
There are a thousand videos of bow set ups , this is actual education , not some random guys bow preferences.
You do realize visually deer really cant see much past 20 yards
Do you mean in general? Or when bedded?
@@JimBowSlice in general. Past 20 yards deer if human would be considered legally blind they rely on scent and sound more then sight.
Saiyan Seeds I disagree with where ever you heard that at.
@@yogibear6271 ok its not an argument or opinion its scientific fact so believe what you like.
