He may not be concerned with originality but is probably one of the very greatest British songwriters alive. He consistently pens great lyrics filled with poetic imagery and English romanticism I know many people believe he peaked with the Jam but he wrote some corkers during the Style Council years. A much-underrated band. They were great. His solo albums have varied but never lack some good songs. His debut, self-titled album was a great come back, Wild Wood and Stanley Road were flawless. Heavy Soul was a good album. I like As is Now. Twenty-two dreams was a masterpiece and the sheer maturity and delicacy of True Meanings really floored me. I was a massive Weller fan when these tunes were released, I'm just revisiting the classic performances I remember watching at the time.... Still fuckin A!!!!
