- Got a special one for ya'll today!! I've been hearing a lot about the film "They Cloned Tyrone" starring Jamie Foxx, John Boyega, & Teyonah Parris and today I'm going to view it for the first time!
There is so much to unpack with this film that I may do a part 2 where I review and breakdown this film and it's deeper meaning to me and this world.

"Frog" was "The Oracle" in "The Matrix". Frog gave a word that made you understand the world. Frog was the guy who gave them the clues throughout the movie to let you know where to go. When he told Yo-yo, "When you're trying to get out of BABYLON, where tf else are you going to go?", he was using a normally coined idea amongst black people. From Babylon (slavery and destruction) to Zion (Peace and tranquility). Most churches use names to exhibit an idea of peace and tranquility.
Also he was one of those people in the community where you could commit a whole crime in front of and because he's a drunk no one would believe him or take him seriously. Kind of like how people can take advantage of the mentally ill and they'll just be like oh they're crazy they don't know what they're saying. I also was thinking maybe he drinks so much to cope with knowing what's really going on and not having a way out/gave up on trying to stop the experiments like Fontaine did at first too? Who knows how long he's known probably decades. Love The Oracle/Matrix reference makes perfect sense just never thought of connecting the two movies!
To answer your question about what a "Goldilocks Situation" is, it's when you leave something one way, and when you return, it isn't the same as before.
But if you also notice it gave a lot of references to other movies especially at the end when Tyrone was driving that made me automatically think of boys in the Hood

I've literally watched this movie twice and both times I was high I don't advise that because it will freak you the fuck out. Had me thinking I was a clone
My only commentary on this film would be the beginning needs a bit more focus. There’s too much happening at once and it takes a while for the audience to process it. When you start seeing the underground facilities and what’s going on, it starts to make sense. The sense of suspense in the beginning needs to be simplified with a single focus no matter what the scene or characters :) But otherwise its an A+ for a first time director. Looking forward to seeing a sequel. Maybe call it They Cloned Fontaine

This film comes out swinging and I felt wrong laughing most of the time but Jamie Foxx made it near impossible not to. Oppenheimer is just Oscar bait. Watch a documentary about the bomb and leave the private lives of dead people alone, Barbie is not my thing so this movie so far is my 2023 film. Maybe it will encourage everyone to ask themselves if we are in a cycle just being what society expects of us.
How you miss the beginning when they said “MJ working down at the piggly wiggly” 🤣😭
“John Boyega kinds favors Denzel Washington I thought he was Denzel’s son…then I googled it and actually saw who is son was.” 😂 Not gon lie, that semi-disappointed non-chalant expression was hilarious af. I mean John David Washington’s a pretty good actor, but Boyega is far superior in range and intensity.
My man had a info box like Pop Up Video to help out those unfamiliar with the culture. I love it!

I think that the Bitcoin reference places the movie at around 2011. It existed in 2009, but it became popular on black markets in 2011.
