In the end it was Hayley who became the redemption of the Mikaelsons.
Haley & cami were the only ones to make them actually reconsider everything they were taught and thought! Haley even said the family owes her. And after cam is death Haley was their on voice of reason ! Her death scene didn't hurt as much cause it was rushed but the fact that she died period killed the show for me.

So, without her, there was no Hope Mikaelson, and there was no hope for 'the redemption of the Mikalesons'

Legacies was already set in stone to start at some point when the cast came to film season 5 Danielle said it in a interview that she got signed for legacies when she got the part of hope for the originals. And the actor that played Klaus said he wanted to move on with other roles and so did others actors bc they were playing those roles for years . It’s the same with nina dobrev not returning really to the last two seasons bc she wanted to move on and do other projects

I like to believe some people are too into the canons. Like her character and Camille’s character received a lot of hate due to Klaroline shippers. Like why can’t someone just not compare all three women for the changes they brought upon Klaus.
Plus even when making mistakes her character development was amazing. Every character demonstrated parts of their humanity as you got to know them better. However, it’s for those that thought they might be threats to their favorite characters that pushed them to see that every character had its merits.

The people saying Hayley doesn’t embrace who she is because she a hybrid are ignoring the fact that the crescents represent her relationship with her inner wolf. Hayley loved the wolf’s and sides with them but she always went back to the mikealsons because the Mikealson family represent her vampire side and her struggle with accepting that she okay with loving it. In season two when she tried to take hope she tried to fight her love for the mikealson and because of that she suffered because she wasn’t embracing both sides of her identity. In season three she accepted her love for both sides which made her stronger. She finally stop allowing people to tell her who she should love and fight for and embraced its both.
It's crazy that the chemistry Klaus and Hayley had never progressed into them being together. Yes they had their own lovers, but they were so alike that it would've been amazing to see their relationship. I think at some point they both realized that wasn't going to happen, that's why they respected each other because they knew it was a possibility.

She was a drunken one night stand so that's probably why. Klaus never thought or imagined he would see her again so it took a while for them to bond because we all know how closed off Klaus was. They do have some similarities but I always felt her chemistry with Elijah and Klaus with Cami.

This was so amazing! I feel like people didn't appreciate the duality of her nature. She was an orphan who always wanted a family. She wanted to know her roots and she sacrafices a lot for it, including innocent people. Then she finally finds it but she's thrown into another family as well, a family of powerful vampires. She's discovering two parts of herself at once as we watch her in this show - finally finding the pack she always wanted to dedicate her loyalty and identitiy to and discovering her place in this new family of vampires, all while becoming a mother who just wanted to protect her baby. The life with Jackson was the life she always wanted, but her life with Elijah was what she was meant for. She was a crescent and Mikaelson with equal parts, and watching her try to find that identity and balance was my favourite arch in the series. I love the duality of her nature and the poetry of her becoming a hybrid. She deserved a far better ending. (They all did, really)
I adored Hayley as a character, and her dynamic with the Original family, Klaus in particular. I do believe it was Hayley that made redemption possible for the family, and gave them all so much more depth. I'm really sad she had to die and that she was barely in season 5, but I WILL say her death was 'felt'. It wasn't just over and they all moved on, it rippled out and had lasting effects. I liked that because it kept Hayley alive even after she was gone.

The originals took a poorly written TVD character and turned her into the fan favorite. Her development from her first scene of TVD to her last of TO is incredible.
She really does grow on you doesn't she. At first she seemed an annoying, stubborn lone wolf baby mama but throughout the time you begin to love her. She became a Mikaelson. She deserved better, better!

She showed them the pure love, the kindness, the peace, the family and the home. She had that much big heart to show everyone love, to help anyone who needs her. And she thaught it to Mikaelsons, especially to Klaus. She said "being kind doesn't make you weak" and he understtod that. Hayley never forced Klaus to be better but she thaught it to him. Whatever you say Hayley Marshall is the one who brought goodnes in Klaus, she is the one who made him a good father and a better man. That's way Klaus said "i really wish you were here to tell me" because it was always hayley who told him the right thing to do. When Hayley died Klaus lost his light, the good side of him. And he said "we're no longer family" to his own brother because he let Hayley die. He killed Antonio in front of Elijah because he wanted him to feel the same pain. Elijah said it hisself "you wanted to show how it feels" and i'm sure elijah didn't feel the same pain as klaus. Because Klaus is the one who always understood Hayley and he was the one who protected her, who cared for her the most, who fighted for her the most.. Hayley Marshall is the queen and it was Klaus who thaught her she is the queen. Klaus watched his little wolf's death for twice and his screams was the most painful voices ever. My king and queen deserved a lot better. i'm sure they are watching their littlest wolf from the other side. i'm sure they are together finally

In legacies and the end of the original Hope said she would redeem the mikealson name. However I think the person who did the most to help see the mikealson in a different light, was Hayley. People saw Hayley fight and love the mikealson and considered maybe they weren’t that bad. She raised her daughter with the qualities of a mikealsons because despite everything, they will always be her family.
If you think about it the fact that Hope knows and loves Klaus is all thanks to Hayley. She told Hope that her dad was a hero. She grew up idolizing him when Hayley could have made him the villain. Hope is a mikealson by name because of Klaus but Hayley is the one who taught her how to be one.

Klaus should have died in a more meaningful way and so should Hayley. I like how it was out of nowhere but it should have been a better villain in the last season. I agree that it was for legacies but they could have made it a lot more interesting and fun. It was very anticlimax

This was an Incredible Masterpiece for Hayley Marshall-Kenner. Hayley was a very complex character but she was one hell of a Mother I still wish that Hope got The Chance to be raised by both her Parents. I do agree with most people Killing Hayley was very unnecessary.

I honestly think that the way she died was super anticlimatic. If they were going to kill her (the writers I mean), they could have given her a better end. And even alive she could have been a good character for Legacies, since she is way weaker than hope is, it wouldn't have made a big difference against those ridiculous enemies (haha Legacies is a joke for the most of it, this last season is the only one getting good actually)

She deserves so much better, the season 5 messed up all of her essence, I know that she died for her daughter, but all that Hayley wanted was that Hope doesn't grow up the way that she and Klaus did, without parents and in the end that was what happened. She has the best development in the TO, go for a annoying wolfy girl to a queen, a fighter and she teached this to Hope, that family is all worth to fight. Hear me out guys ! I KNOW it was unfair what happened to Hayley but can we agree that despite this being a show. REAL life shit happens and fairy tales and happy endings aren’t always how shit goes ! I personally believe it’s sucked the way Hayley died BUT she did it PROUDLY as a mother would do to protect her child. Now I am not a mom but her strength and resilience inspired me to, IF one day the universe allows me to be a mommy, I’ll try and be as fearless, compassionate, understanding and allowing. And just BE present. As she tried to be even with the curse upon her … I absolutely LOVE this show. Cannot get tired of saying so. F.O.E always and forever !
