I totally agree with this! They seemed to intentionally make it so she didn't know about all the sacrifices he made for her. They hardly even mentioned him in Legacies and they never really mentioned Hayley much either. They kind of make a plot hole by doing that because Hope misses her mom in the originals after she is a major part of the reason she died to begin with, but rarely mentioned her in Legacies? I mean she sure took it out on an already guilt ridden Elijah! She should have felt more guilty for it herself! Because she didn't seem to know how much Elijah sacrificed for her or that he loved her as much as he did, she came off like a brat! Adult Hope ruined the show in my opinion. I hated that Elijah died, but I'm glad when everyone told him he needed to be there for Hope, he decided to finally do one thing for his own happiness by going to have his peace with Hayley. Hope didn't deserve such an amazing uncle
If not for Elijah and his devotion to his family, it would’ve fallen apart ages ago. Hope would not survive. Klaus would not have found redemption. Rebecca would not know peace and happiness. Frya would not have found her family. And Haley would’ve been alone and unloved. He was the heart of the show. The soul of the mikalson family. The best original

I find its so in keeping with his character and how he did something similar when Marcel was a boy. I also really loved how you drew parallels between Elijah and Hope's personalities, from the little we saw of them interacting. Anyway, gorgeous vid! It's been years and all of these characters are still taking up so much rent-free space in my head and heart!

I will never forgive the writers for ruining their relationship and for keeping Elijah away from Hope in S4. I mean...why ?! Hope and Elijah never had a dialogue in S4 😢
They did Elijah so dirty in S5 he was the first person to actually care about Hope, Klaus didn’t give a damn about Hope at the start and Hayley tried abortion. Elijah was the one that changed their minds. He loved Hope as if she were his own child. He would’ve sacrificed everything to save her! They just had to ruin their relationship by making him kill Hayley. After that it all just went downhill, Hope despised Elijah for ‘killing’ her mother and Elijah blamed himself too. That didn’t stop him from caring for her tho he was still willing to sacrifice himself instead of Klaus just so she could have a father as he didn’t want to leave her orphaned. I’m glad in the second to last episode we did get to see them getting along together. The writers literally ruined every good thing we had and it just really pisses me off!

Klaus became monsters to face thousand yr amount enemies... but from the moment he became a father... elijah took it upon himself to be that monster to protect all mikaelaons cause hope deserved a dad and not the monster klaus was... kol ditched them... finn was well... finn. Freya and rebekah were sisters who should be protected and not be the protector... so elijah became a real MONSTER... for love

Unpopular opinion but Elijah betrayed his family when he had marcel erase always and forever. Choosing to forget his love for them was Elijah's first truely selfish decision and it cost him dearly but it also cost hope her mother and Klaus the mother of his child.
