I own a 110 and just got my first 112 love both. Edc it everyday grab it over my spyderco's, or any other knife I own. These are real mens knives. Those who say there to heavy do some pushups, tie up your skirts and be a man. Great vid man.
Both of the knive models in this video can be opened one handed by holding near the spine of the blade with a downward flick. The handle will drop and lock in place. See Blackie Thomas's video. It's definitely old school, but it works. Great knives thanks for sharing.
Great review!! Also worth noting that you can custom order a 110 with a bunch of options including getting a s30 blade. I ordered one and it has the Bos emblem on it from when they still put his emblem on it about 10 years ago
I've had the 110 all over the Alaskan woods on the seas And now all over west idaho it's a work horse Just ordered the 112 auto it's going to be awesome I recommend to everyone Good video bro
Great video. I ended up getting a Case Kickstart folder because my grampa machined his own 110 and 112 in his shop out of 1095. Only thing is he never sharpened it and wanted me to keep it the way it was. Lol
Great video excellent knives, the history of Buck Knives is interesting. The 110 costs $70 delivered in 2024, Still a fair price for a high quality knife.
You sound a lot like doctor frunkey and have a similar vibe! Btw I love the buck 110 and 112! My 112 has the silver nickel bolsters with g10 handles and the s30v blade steel. I own a lot of high end knives and midtechs but my fave are still these two knives!
Good to know they will do heat treating for people. Have you ever made your own knife? I got some used 16” concrete saw cutting blades. I have thought about making a blade with one.
I purchased my Buck 110 in the early 1970’s for $20.00. From this video, the sheath has declined in quality. The Buck 110 is a true classic. Today, the Buck 110 competes with the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, or Bench made 940. The Para Military 2 , with S110V is 3.5” @ and much lighter and better knife characteristics. The Buck 110 is a nostalgic knife.
I just purchased my first Buck 110. I normally carry one of Buck's pocket knives day to day but felt I needed to have something more substantial for a few days I'll be spending in the Bighorn Mountains soon. Great review!
Hi great video review thanks, im planning on getting one of them but i can not make up my mind , in your opinion what one do you think is better ? Thanks
I’ve carried a 110 for several years every day and love it. I’ve used and abused it about as much as someone can and it never fails. I must say I’m seriously considering switching to the 112 for edc as the 110 is quite large and after switching professions I don’t use my knife NEAR as much as I use too and no longer need as big of a knife. Cant go wrong with any buck!!!
It depends on your preference and use. The buck will be more durable and heavier without a pocket clip. Spyderco would be lighter, less durable but have a pocket clip.
I own some buck 110s and a couple of 112s and I love them. I also have a few Spydercos-the Shaman ( Spydie edge=serrated), Manix 2 XL, the Tenacious, and the Civilian. I carry my Shaman, Buck 110, and 112 daily. I may rotate the Manix 2XL with the 110 day to day. I feel the Shaman and the Manix 2XL, and the Manix 2 are the most durable Hard-use knives Spyderco has out. Personally, I do not think you will go wrong with either of the Knives mentioned.
Every video I wach on the 110 has nothing bad to say about the knife. I believe I'm going to buy one. After all can't go wrong with a $20 knife that nobody can find anything wrong with it. Hell I'm sold lol
Kills the most dangerous game just as easily too... Nothing quite like having a Buck knife on your hip. Beats all these pretentious super steels and pocket sharks most carry these days who only use their knifes to open Amazon boxes.
Both these models have the same serious design flaw. Unless handled rather delicately, the blade can "overclose", its edge making contact with the frame. This can render the most carefully applied edge an absolute waste of time.

💯
BOOM!!!
Agree 💯
Thank you🤟
Holy balls of shit. I just read about Gene Moe. That's probably the craziest hunting story ever. That man was a bad ass. That buck 110 saved his life.
I am proud to be the owner some of Buck knifes. My favorite grap and go is 112 ranger pro. I really love it.

Just got my first 110 year 2019 version. It has Black African Ebony handles.
Thats awesome, great knives! Enjoy!
There great for the cost. I have 2. One I carry on hip every day. The other I have in my survival pack.
Great review, I carry a buck 110 alot on the belt, I love the classic style of this knife and the history behind it
Great choice! Thsnk you!
Can't beat them for the price. Not in a folder anyway. I have 2.

Great to know, that sounds awesome! Thanks!
It's 2024 and they still use the Bos trademark on their knives.
Good video enjoy the wee story as well mate thanks
Thank you for the awesome information 🤠,I love this video 📸
I just ordered a 110 and I can't wait to get this piece of history in my hands!
Awesome! It will last you a very long yime as long as you dont pry with it. Ive seen two blades break, in other peoples hands...
I prefer the vintage. I’ve had my vintage 112 forever, along with my Vietnam era Buck 120 General. An older model 110 will be my next knife purchase
I've had the 110 all over the Alaskan woods on the seas
And now all over west idaho it's a work horse
Just ordered the 112 auto it's going to be awesome
I recommend to everyone
Good video bro

Awesome video! Just got into Buck knives and I’m addicted lol
Buck used 425m steel from the early 80s til about 92. Before that it was 440c. I love buck knives, American made ones of course. 110 is my favorite.
Great video excellent knives, the history of Buck Knives is interesting. The 110 costs $70 delivered in 2024, Still a fair price for a high quality knife.
Cool video; thumbs up. I have always liked the 112 better. For some reason, they are hard to find in the store. Does anyone know why?

I have never make a knife before but the idea intrigues me. I've seen people make knives out of blades.

Thanks for the video! I just posted a video comparing the Buck 110, 501 & 503, all great knives!
Really good video
Very nice Cool thank you !

Dang that was a good review.👍
I really appreciate that sir. Thanks for watching.
Which one do y’all think would be best to carry around everyday?
Id say 112, a little smaller for everyday.
You're a good Son!
Should i go with a spiderco persistance or with One of those buck ?
It depends on your preference and use. The buck will be more durable and heavier without a pocket clip. Spyderco would be lighter, less durable but have a pocket clip.

I could open a buck with one hand
Up until the late 90's you could flick them open with one hand but they tightened up the internals making it more difficult now.
Crack heads are harder to kill than a kodiak I would imagine, I wonder how that guy would have done against a crackhead with the 110?
Gene Moe, BTW, Killed that Kodiak Bear with his rifle, not with his knife.
If a slipjoint joint knife closes on you then you're obviously applying pressure to the wrong side like an idiot.
Are they the same thickness?
Yes that Im aware of, 0.12" on both. Great question!
Believe in Jesus Christ and be saved from hell before it’s eternally too late if you haven’t already. May God bless
What's your opinion on the abuse (well documented and proven)carried out by these people who are gonna save everyone?
Kills the most dangerous game just as easily too... Nothing quite like having a Buck knife on your hip. Beats all these pretentious super steels and pocket sharks most carry these days who only use their knifes to open Amazon boxes.
It's the classic folding knife, but I have better knives for killing bears. I wouldn't recommend it either way though.
Both these models have the same serious design flaw. Unless handled rather delicately, the blade can "overclose", its edge making contact with the frame. This can render the most carefully applied edge an absolute waste of time.

Small kodiak bears...... just saying
The small ones are the same size as the big grizzly bears in the Northwest.
