The difference between sarah and other filipina singers/belters is that Sarah's voice contains a lot of class. She does not just randomly belt out a song and do unnecessary amateurish runs just to impress. She sounds like a legit black american soul singer. So much power, soul, and flavor in her voice. I do not know any other filipina singer who can do her style of singing. She sounds like a mixture of celine dion and beyonce in a body of a 1960s black soul singer. She sounds so unique. It's hard to explain, but her voice has so much character and substance.

I have been listening to a lot of black soul singers from the 60s to today (classic soul, neo soul, blues, jazz, blue eyed soul, gospel). Her techniques are a lot similar to black soul/jazz singers. Her nasality, the accent she uses (especially when she exaggerates her vowels) and her heavy use of vibrato. There are even times when she tends to sound like beyonce, especially in her cover of "emotions". Even her use of jazz, blues and gospel scales in doing improvisations is very similar to 60s black american soul/jazz singers. She's a trained jazz singer so its not surprising anymore. There is a celine dion hint in her vocal style but there is definitely a jazz and soul element as well. Im a jazz/soul/rock musician btw.
