I've got the orange version of this bag. I carry it on the daily and have a few thoughts of my own. 1. I carry it in the reverse orientation, so the zipper is on the front and the magnet pocket is on the back. That keeps the magnet pocket less exposed and bagels it easier to open the zipper compartment. 2. The g-hook can get snagged in my long somewhat curly hair when I take it off over my head, so I'm careful to lift it a bit higher than other straps. 3. I'm highly considering adding some D or O rings inside as attachment points for carabineers or paracord leashes.
I usually carry my minimalist wallet, a pen, and a small battery bank inside the back divider plus mints & gum, meds, small tools, knife, small flashlight, earbuds, and hair ties in the front divider plus my phone in the magnet pocket. That packs it out pretty well and fits everything I need when I'm out and about.
Aesthetically, I think it looks very gender neutral, and I haven't gotten any weird looks or comments wearing it around Portland, OR.

Sacoche bags are for ultra minimalists setups. Solid pouch that converts into a shoulder bag. Gets the job done while traveling.

Suggestion, can you start doing an "iPad test" when reviewing crossbody bags/slings please? I don't know if it's just me, but I'm always curious if an iPad would fit in these (mainly the 11 pro).

Yeah, that's a great idea, giving us info on whether any and if so what iPad models fit would be very helpful.

If I remember correctly he mentioned in a video that he uuuh 3D printed Molds of the sizes when reviewing backpacks check out his latest I vaguely Remeber him using a red one

@@wick3dheathen You are right in that he has a 3D printed plated in the size and shape of a 16 inch Macbook Pro, but for smaller bags like this one, there is currently no equivalent for iPads, only the Kindle, which is limiting because it's smaller than even the iPad Mini.

Based on all the product photos on their website it seems like the front of the bag is the zippered side. The magnet pocket seems to be against your body. I would feel comfortable keeping stuff in it if that's the case.

I feel like the ecopack bellroy venture sling (which ive used all over the blue pebble) gets practically just as thin as this, and carries more, better.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

It does not get quite as thin in my experience, but I agree that it has a lot more functional value

I'm a bit amused that Aaron keeps referring to the unzippered side as the front, when it is pretty clearly the backside. At least the build suggests it (placement of the strap loops) and the Black Ember site's promotional images all show it carried the zippered side outwards.

I agree, it seems the front and back were inadvertently switched

Tom Bihn also has a "sacoche" that's a little bigger than this one if folks like the style but need more room. They do the bottom gusset thing too, but theirs is just a nylon sack. I think it has a couple pockets inside? But no dividers or anything.

I think you're using it backwards, definitely the magnet pocket goes against the body for me. Handles always go in the back, at least that's what I'm used to. I got this recently and it's just so cool. Black Ember products are so satisfying to use, they're a delight to the touch and the small details are just *chef's kiss, delightful. Also this is not as expensive as most of their bags so it's an amazing piece of gear. I have the Kompak, which is amazing as well but that might be too bulky if you just need a couple of items for a quick adventure.

Great video as always. Thank you. Just found out about the Kargo Loculus X-Pack Sling. Would love your thoughts on this item please. Looks very promising to my eye, but I don't see many talking about it, so I'm wondering if it is a newer player or if there are issues perhaps? Thanks for your consideration.

A lot of music venues in the UK won’t allow bags bigger than A4 paper so guessing this is perfect for that.

Long time watcher. I got a question for ya. What is the best backpack you could recommend for Theme Parks, that will also fit in there larger lockers. Water Resistant and can hold some back up clothing for a few tiny adults (children). This is a topic I dont see a lot of in my search. Also thanks to you and through your links I have bought the awesome TomToc Tech Ouch and the Belroy Dopp kit. Now I am looking for backpacks like I mentioned haha. Thank you for the amazing content.

thanks for supporting us for so long! I'm not sure what the best bag for this use case would be, but I immediately thought of Able Carry Daybreaker or Able Carry Daily due to their weather resistance, lightweightness, and size
