I've danced to Stanky & the Coalminers a 1,000 times, but every time I hear the band's songs it's like I'm hearing it for the first time. Love, love, love the band.
WSKG Public Media, Cleveland, Ohio at least used to be a Polka Town. As such, I have asked WVIZ-TV PBS 25 Cleveland, if they'd be willing to produce a Cleveland-style Polka-music program, otherwise similar to NE Pennsylvania's "Let's Polka!" Cleveland used to have "Polka Varieties" on ABC Channel 5, then later on Independent Channel 43. "Let's Polka!" reminds me a little, of the "Polka Varieties" that I remember from the 1960's. Thank you for letting me see "Let's Polka!" on TH-cam. By the way, is "Let's Polka!" filmed, not videotaped? I think that "Polka Varieties" from the '60's, was videotaped.
Yep he says it the way my babci did, punkin pie and let's not forget pitnic not picnic, as we're going for a Polish pitnic, I have my uncle's Stanky records, in fact I have all the records he had which included some Frank Sinatra, my uncle took me to my first polka dance, it was the great Happy Louie at the Polonia acres Polonka in Randolph township dover new Jersey, it was in 1972 I was 12, it was a hot summer Saturday night I'll never forget it.
