  • Saw this beautiful spot and had to fly it. The little Flywoo Explorer did ok but it 90+ degrees and I’ve noticed that a lot of heat coming off the ground causes some extra vibes. Still loved the flight and soaking it all in.

Very nice Erick! I'd love to see one day the OSD, so that I can compare to mine (Walksnail) 😉

It will be a bit before I can fly again but I will do that. I’ve thought about using Walksnail going forward, I have a friend that uses it and I am going to fly his to see what I think.

Looked flat calm to me....Some video flicker present...🤔😏🇬🇧

Definitely calm but very hot and I’ve noticed my lighter quads being affected by the heat coming off the ground.

@@smithe68 The flicker could be a dirty VTX power supply was my thoughts.....What size props is this model using?...🤔😳😏

That was awesome brother!! Was that the dvr footage? Looked great and what a killer place to fly! I'm getting ready to build the analog version.. parts has already started rolling in. Nice work bro!!

@@hillbillyfpv1 thanks brother, I appreciate it! Yes that is the from the DVR. It’s even better than this now because I realized after this and one other flight that I had a couple loose screws and a couple of damaged props. As soon as I took care of that it got even smoother, love this little quad. Happy building and flying!

i dont know why, but there is something about the design on the flywhoo lr i just dont like. i am how ever a fan of the flyfish atlas 4 frame. im currently building that. i have the frame, the motors and control board come in soon. im excited to build it! i want shots like this!
i did notice a tad bit of jello. not sure if its your pwm or what but it seems alot less noticable when your doing turns. may i suggest. what i notice in alot of other videos the pilots are banking slightly left and right when doing a straight line. i believe they are doing it so they dont have pmw issues that will cause the jello affect.
other than that. this was a beautiful flight. beautiful area. im assuming your in the cascades. near saint helens. by the trees all kind of laying the same way. but i could be wrong. it could of been wind on fire riddled pines.
    safe trip! enjoy your vacation!

I’ve had good luck with the explorer in the past, the original and the O3 versions. I’m also a fan of FlyFishRC frames, they are really nice.
Yeah there was definitely some jello, which the explorer has never had for me before. I really do think the extreme heat coming off the ground was causing some updrafts. A flying buddy of mine has been having similar issues even with some slightly larger quads. I’ve changed the PWM and also made some other changes, turned off ADC filtering on my radio among other things.
Thank you very much. It was a cool spot in Canada that we stopped at. When we got there a Canadian DOT there flying a huge DJI drone searching for something. We talked a little bit about legal places to fly, sub250g, licensing, etc.

@smithe68 that is very cool. I know Canada has some stricter laws than us. The heat doesn't help. I don't know how it is up there but we definitely are much cooler here than last week
