The Roblox deathrun that was played in this video is a clone using stolen assets, the actual version is just named “Deathrun”, and while it has 360 Million visits at the time I’m writing this, it only has about 150-200 people in it at a time.
That makes sense, I was very confused

Roblox Deathrun is an actual gem that was sadly forgotten.
Quite literally my first roblox experience that I would never forget.

It was a legendary game I remember grinding my ass to get the glitch emote in that game and Goo’y gameshow was chef’s kiss best map change my mind and safety first theme was beautiful while being incredibly difficult.
I swear it was even in an egg haunt or event.
But I'm pretty sure the version he played was stolen copy.

imagine your favorite childhood game where was active, and years later revisiting it completely with no more players around, its such a nostalgic, weird, liminal and kinda sad vibe.
like the game where you had fun when more young being forgotten by everyone, just remaining as obscure memories
also, when the studio behind the game disappears for years, you wonder "what happened to them and their games?"
Same. Portal adventures (I think that's what its called) was such a good game and its wild to see it have 0 players (the one where you would go into portals and there would be a story. Kreekcraft played it)

i think a big issue is if a GOOD roblox game is dead, you have to have already played it to know it exists.
and even then it might casually have like 10 or so players on a good day because, if its an actual playable game on roblox, people play it. there was an old game i used to play when i was like 9, that was a PVE fantasy game about doge, its been dead in the water for 5 years but still has a flow of 20 or so players daily. if something is worthy of playing, it will be.
theres a reason all the games featured in the video are dead, they dont even have the dignity of some lua coding work.
I play The Office Experiment, it's fairly fun and it only has between 60-100 players at any given time.
another dead Roblox game that I liked was street racing unleashed
it was a game with a once thriving community, now pretty much dead
it also got 2 other reboots that also died, sru tr and sru s2
things like Dead Ahead and Centura are falling into that kind of thing
One I loved was the original zombie tower by Nooooooooooo. Sure it gets players occasionally, but most of them are people who have nostalgia for it
@@dashdestroyer8238 unfortunately zombie tower is broken, but there are remakes and remasters that you can find, some even still have a lot of players
Fun fact: the “Robloxian Life” I think is a copy of another game that is ALSO dead, but still accessible
I met my best friend on it six years ago and we’re still as close as ever today and the last time we played it was completely dead with only a few bots that would spawn in and out

4:55 I remember playing Hello Roblox Neighbour. The only reason why it has 0 players was because of that force filtering update somewhere in 2019. Which caused every old game to break.
i believe Cube Cavern broke because of said update too
Good comment, I used to be a part of the HN roblox community for a while. What you said broke was mainly the meshes in these games. All of these meshes came from the same small amount of people. Wasn't till 2022 where developer, nether_strider. Uploaded every model from the pre alpha through alpha 2, which caused more games to rise, Every single game used the same house model from his model. And again, in late 2023, around August, almost every mesh became broken, which broken means that the mesh is still there, but its texture is gone, appearing to look invisible. Now nether_strider, the guy that uploaded all the models, has literally wiped out any trace of hello neighbor in his profile.
That one dude who joined that Minecraft Roblox game has to be a serial killer.

You should’ve played a game just galled “Glitch” which was made in 2011 and is a horror game where you collect 8 gems and try to not get killed by a glitch that you locate by a glitch meter which displays messages on how close he is, it’s pretty dead

@@Stickman_Productions no, the glitch appears as a black figure with a big head, it appears close to players and glitches doors so they can’t open, and the glitch is very fast and will kill you if he gets to you
Most of the abandoned games are made by kids using the online toolbox.

the real game is just called 'Deathrun' and was created back in 2015
it was much more popular (currently at over 360M visits) but the playerbase has died down substantially within recent years (there are only around 150 active players as i'm typing this)
the game was made only a year before i started playing roblox so i had have a decent amount of playtime on it!
gotta say i miss that era of roblox games. it feels like the front page nowadays is just flashy thumbnails for the same repetitive grind game. nothing sticks out when it's all bright colour and big numbers, and that sucks! it feels hard to find anything worthwhile unless you're looking at recommendations from outside of roblox
though i'll admit i'm absolutely looking back through the lens of nostalgia! fair chance things were basically the same back then with the difference of me being much younger

fun fact: there is a offical "secret neighbor" game on roblox, made by the official devs tinyBuild games. Secret neighbor is basically just among us, but set in the Hello Neighbor

Video suggestions: underrated roblox games that got overshadowed by bad roblox games
Example: stars align, microwave dinner, phighting, hours, brickbattler, robot 64, the battle brick, battle buddies 2, toon universe, etc.
Bro seeing the thumbnail gives me some much nostalgia as I grew up playing Roblox around 2013 to 2014 but seeing the hello neighbor game gave me memories.
It's a shame that old games like Deathrun, Epic Minigames, Sky Ranch Tycoon/Skyblock Tycoon, TNT Run, etc, died out just from how old they are. I checked the real deathrun (not the one from the video) and it only has 150 players as of writing this. It's really sad because they're all great games, but they got lost to time and failed in the new roblox meta that is "cash grab game = front page" or "recent trend = popular".
Edit: some other og games that died are Flood Escape 2, Elemental Battlegrounds, Make a Cake, Pizza Factory Tycoon, or Pool Tycoon 4.

Same with story based games that actively update like Poppy Playtime if it had less lore. Cause that's essentially portal adventure cause that game is dead in the water cause the final update was like 3 years ago
@@NeonBobertI remember playing so many good games on Roblox (such as epic minigames ) in the late 2010s, Now I only play 3 games total. Another contender to this list is Flood Escape 2, a craze in the late 2010s, spawning fanmade games (that were great) between 2017 - 2019. After covid, it fell off considerably, and doesn't even reach more than 1000 players at a time.

Man, I remember playing that roblox death run you checked out and was so good at it, too! Maybe this is just nostalga talking, (or I'm thinking of some other game) but I genuinely remember that one being pretty good and really popular, and also thinking that it was really cool to have voice acting in a roblox game. Sad to see it here on this list.

I remember playing Roblox Deathrun(or something like it) for the 2020 Egg Hunt. I had fun playing that game and it absolutely sucks that it became so obscure nobody would ever continue to play it.
There were a lot of other games promoted in events such as the Egg Hunts, The Hunt: 1st Edition, and many others that have fallen off significantly since they were last promoted.
Another thing worth noting: The UI for Dino Race(one of the games you covered in this video) is actually copied and pasted from a lot of the other games the devs of it made. Namely with Lumberjack Simulator(idk if it had 1 or 2 in the title) and Pull A Sword, which both played exactly the same and were both featured in The Hunt.
If you ever play one of those obby games again, if you get to those platforms you wrote off as RNG, put your camera through them, the one where the camera cannot go through is the one that you can stand on.

Battleboards.
essentially a competitive board game within roblox with like half a dozen maps and gamemodes with some maps having their own stage gimmicks.
its not monopoly length or anything, rounds last like 3 minutes.
Unironically 'Hello Roblox Neighbor' is pretty fun if you get a lobby with actual ppl in it. It's just the typical: Spawn, Shoot, Die, Repeat typa game. Plus the bushes offer a pretty broken cheese mechanic bc they're invincible. However, you can hide in them and occasionally pop out and snag a couple kills from them. But other than that, it's a mediocre game that's good as a late night endeavor with your friends

I used to play it 4 years ago daily and due to a full revamp. everyone is slowly leaving till its dead. after that. i played the game which it inspires and currently still actively play it

Roblox has so many hidden games that is so fun to play but got buried by big games like adopt me, mm2, slap battles, and ofc many many afk and clicking games

This video reminds me of a game I played in 2021 called "i like ya cut g", it was a game where you spawned in a world with a hammer that played the "i like ya cut g" sound effect, and you explored the map and killed other players to get better hammers, and there are secrets to find in the game. Unfortunately, it has a 47% dislike ratio, and the creator of the game discontinued it and got terminated.

Edit: that three bridge thing in the among us obby is kinda a staple to the generic Roblox obby genre of being insanely non-unique and easy to deal with (sometimes they have more bridges but they’re still easy) as for some reason none of them have realized that the camera cannot pass through solid objects so moving the camera with the mouse and moving it through the bridges until you find the one that the camera can’t get past lmao
I remember this series of games on robox called zombie attack. It has 6 games in total, and none of them is ever played

There was this game called Feet Tycoon, a low quality meme tycoon game that barely worked that me and my friends found one day. We became absolutely obsessed with it, and I have spread feet tycoon to every single friend group I’ve ever played Roblox with
The game had like barely any players when we found it, and my most recent play through it’s got thousands of visits now, and I like to believe we single handedly created the player base for that game

Q-Clash used to be pretty popular back in the day. Sucks it rarely gets any updates and the player count is usually so low.
On the obby part where you need to choose the right bridge, you can cheese it by moving the camera towards them. If it goes through, then it's fake, if the camera moves closer towards you, then it's a solid.
I know this isn't relevant, but I thought I wanted to point out.

here are a few underrated/dead games if you want to check them out
Tower galactica (it's an abandoned game due to lack of players and team motivation, first few levels are a bit tame and was supposed to be reworked, but never got reworked because they quit, but the later levels are really good and difficult)
Project: Sentries (also really high quality TD game, too bad same reason why tower galactica died)
Neon Knights (legit the most underrated Roblox game ever, it's been abandoned from the same reason again of lack of players)

I have been working on Roblox for 6 years and I have grown a lot I can now say my games are actually fun can be enjoyed for a few hours but I have only once got past 1k visits it’s a barely active player base even with advertisements
