    Damn dude, this is the most raw and honest exposition from you I've ever heard, and that's saying a lot because I've been a subscriber who has valued your words for awhile now. I can so relate to your inner process as it matches my own. And when I look at what you have achieved, it gives me hope. I am inspired anew. Thank you so much.

    Sir i am like you, I lacked interest in studying until my FSC, I used to be the dumpest kid in my class, often distracted. However, upon entering university, I discovered a newfound passion for cybersec and IT. Now, I am self-learning and will get success soon.

    @UnixGuy: I just wanted to tell you to thank you for your videos, work, and attitude, as I am looking to switch to my first cyber security job - I have been in IT for 12 years - and your videos kept me sane, there is so much nonsense in the Security "bubble". May God bless you!

    I'm in a place where I had to decide to leave cybersecurity for later and start studying something short (just commerce and business school) and that will give me more chances to get out quicker of my current shi**tty job (especially the company) and start a stable and better one. It's just 3 semesters (I'm close to finishing the 1st) while I'm working full time. So it's stressful right now and I don't have time for anything else than working and studying. When I'm finally in a better place then I'll keep looking into cybersecurity as a hobby, at least for first. Still loving your channel though, thanks a lot for the content. Hugs from Switzerland🇨🇭

So the question is I want to become an Auditor or I can say start from GRC so my question is should I give my time to solve rooms/labs on Try Hack Me or HTB or instead of that try learning more about compliance and standards? I mean I am confused what to do? Again Thank You. :)

    Really great advice, I definitely struggle with having a negative dialogue towards myself. Even when I put in a couple hours of hard studying I still feel frustrated with myself like I am not doing enough. I think this may stem from me career changing and comparing myself to my peers who are farther along in their journey. Definitely something I need to be more self aware of and work on. Also in regards to staying focused for long periods I found adding in some sort of physical exercise can refocus my mind. When I find myself getting distracted I’ll knock out a set of pull ups or push ups and I am usually much more focused after.

    Hey UnixGuy, quick question brother, I'm considering my options for Cybersecurity specialisations, just wondering, do Ethical Hackers have to at all lie to do their job?
    For example would I have too tell the company I'm working for, a lie, like make up stuff so I get vital information, so for example I say to them I'm from another company (when I'm actually not) to gain important information when testing their defences?
    I'm a Christian so I can't lie, would this affect me being a Ethical Hacker at all?

    • @UnixGuy
      @UnixGuy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hey mate, no we don’t lie, if anything, you need a strong moral compass and ethics. What you attempted to described is referred to as ‘social engineering’ and we don’t do it randomly. We sign a contract that the company asks for, so we’re not lying, we’re testing the strength of the defences of a company to defend them against bad actors.

    • @preparationoftheelect2023
      @preparationoftheelect2023 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@UnixGuy thankyou heaps brother, Im thinking of becoming a ethical hacker and I already have a strong moral compass because of the Bible, so I'm glad you said that, is social engineering common for Ethical Hackers to do?
      Or can I just specialise in the other things instead? I probably will stay away from social engineering
      If I were to become a Ethical Hacker is social engineering mandatory or can I avoid it and still find work still?

    • @UnixGuy
      @UnixGuy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not mandatory, but it's also not unethical. You can educate people about social engineering, you dont necessarily have to do it. Follow this roadma: th-cam.com/video/8K7iAJ9BNl0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bpMFvTCFt0jZkmMl@@preparationoftheelect2023

    Unix Guy Could you please answer my question? I got an offer from Australia University to attend Cybersecurity. Should I take it? I mean should I spend 3years and money in it? Rather than certifications, that bachelor is it effective in the field. My goal is to be CISO and at the same time I wannabe a cybersecurity consultant. Thank you.

    • @UnixGuy
      @UnixGuy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that really depends on your situation! do u already have a degree? if you just finished high school then a degree can help

    • @hsuhnin9

      Honestly, my major is Electronic engineering, because of my country’s situation, I can’t go to university soooo I ask you. I am trying your road map and I wanna say thank you for your sharing and effort.

    • @UnixGuy
      @UnixGuy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i don’t know your family or country situation so I can’t really give you random blanket advice. Degrees in Australia are very expensive, but if you just finished high school and you’re not sure what to do then yeah a degree is fine. If you want to change careers then follow my roadmaps, you do not need a degree to do so

    I saw this video title when you upload it and I said to my self this is going to be the solution that will benefits me a lot.
    I planed to watch it after studying, but I forgot that you were the owner of this video. I searched about the topic in all around the YT videos. I found nothing, so at that time, I just felt something that I lost something like a money for others or life for me.
    When I start to organize my priorities on tasks and try to achive the state of having a great schedual every day & not being distracted by rediculas things. I just found this video again on "Break time VID" like I titled in my browser that day when I saw it lol.
    really appreciate it UnixGuy

      Sorry if that wasn't clear enough. I still try to improve my writing in engliah. 😂😅
      In case of the "break time vid" it's this video, I just taged it on my brave browser tab. I did it with that name to organize my priorities what to watch and in which state.😊
      I don't like to have too much of these tages(tabs) I just decide to have 2 of them different colours on different tasks . Fun & informative video and then the course video I want to watch next to each others. Other tab will be like a candy or a reward if we say so.
      Finishing this task and you will get this reward next to it etc. obviously I didn't reward my self that day😂
      I Just mentioned this to tell how entertaining and informative your videos are for me and for others ofc.
      Really huge thanks to you and please keep going with these kind of videos they help a lot, along with our journey.
      Thanks again my brother🤍

      I don’t have capacity to do one on one mentorships, you’ll find most of the information that you need in the videos (please watch them) and if you still require further help then I have a paid mentorship call (link in the about section of this youtube channel) 🙂
