This game, and by extension this DLC made me legitimately excited for mainline Pokémon in a way I haven't been in years. Yeah, it's buggy, it performs poorly and has plenty of problems, but for once I have so many things to absolutely love that I can still happily say I'm utterly hyped for it.

Shoehorning all your legendaries into one DLC is simply uninspired Gamefreak, there are creative ways to add them to the game you don't have to drag and drop them like in Sw/Sh.

You made the right choice. Sword/Shield was so much more enjoyable than S/V. They look and play better too.
Man, the marketing team really went all out on this one, for a small moment I even contemplated returning to this rushed, ugly, uninspiring disappointing letdown that is Gen 9

Gen 9 was not a disappointment. It excelled in every aspect but graphics. It has the best story, best gameplay, best characters, most amount of content, and even the toughest casual battles. It's buggy, sure, but everything else makes up for it.

What a cute little indie game. It’s amazing what this small studio was able to achieve on a relatively small budget.
Imagine if they had the resources of a massive, multimillion dollar franchise.
It’s almost like they’re being crunched to death and given a dev cycle of less than three years.
maybe they wouldnt have to crunch their employees as hard if they hired (significantly) more people to work on it. Surely they have the budget to hire a large amount of experienced game developers and talented managers/coordinators to efficiently supervise a big team

@@JuanRomero It is just pretty unfortunate because Gamefreak knows how strong Pokemon conceptually is, but they do not seem to care about their mainline products nor investing time into optimizing things.
Have Kieran use the Lousy Three in battle. Each member should have another form contributed to the mask based on it as well as that it stole in the Teal Mask scenario. As a last resort, Kieran should use a purple peach Pokémon in battle, and it will change form as well. It would be a grueling match!

@@Chaos_Senpai Not exactly, the trailer shows a character called Snacksworth who gives you items to encounter these Pokémon. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire merely required to locate a floating ring or Dimensional tear to immediately start an encounter. Having to acquire an item via a side quest then travel to a specific location is reminiscent of Heart Gold and Soul Silver or B/W2, as you had a specific wing to carry to a certain location in order to face a certain legendary.

Yeah the game runs poorly, and yeah there's no excuse, but do I find the game fun? Am I impressed by the returning pokemon and an apparent new emphasis on tricky battles and rival matches? Absolutely! Of course I'd love to see a console pokemon game that doesn't have game cube graphics and 25 FPS, but I'm perfectly happy to put some time into this DLC because it looks charming and fun
I like you and other people like you that can recognize flaws but still push them aside to enjoy the game and not just complain and demonize people that do enjoy it

Man, I remember playing Pokemon back in the 64 era, and going through the Gamecube and Wii I never heard many complaints about graphics.
When did people get so stuck up on how a game LOOKS? And when did people start complaining about games being buggy when number of people LOOKING for ways to break the game over their knees.
Seriously as long as I can enjoy the story, the game is playable, and I enjoy the gameplay- That makes it a good game in my eyes.

i have living dex in my game plus shiny box, event box and battle readsy box and so on and still have plenty empty boxes left over you dont need to be a hoarder and save everything

Hear is my theory: kieran will be another “volo” battle, we fight his full team of 6, then he fight us using another Pokemon, my theory is our box legend which he will steal because we “stole” ogrepon from him, and then pur box legend will transform into a stronger form after where we have to beat it again, just like how we had to fight volo’s full team of 6, then giratina, then it’s origin form

I don't think we will get Gen 10 in 2024. I think a Gen 10 game will be set for 2025 or even 2026 at the earliest. I think a new Legends game will be announced around Februari 2024.

And seeing the subtle references to Mystery Dungeon (Dialga, Palkia and Darkrai get events and there's an special Lucario as well), I would say that Explorers DX could also be a thing as well.

Please optimise your game before releasing dlc
I wish they would also wait to complete the DLC before releasing the "complete edition" with the DLC on the cart (which also has a price hike to factor in the cost of the DLC in the eShop). Sword/Shield released complete (though a subsequent update still meant that you had to download the entire 3GB bulk of updates to date), but at least both expansions were otherwise on the cartridge. Meanwhile, Nintendo deliberately rushed S/V out to shelves, along with Mario Kart 8 Expansion physical release in Japan (before Wave 6 was released).
Nintendo used to be a breath of fresh air compared to their rivals, but they've become every bit as bad, and in many cases, worse.
The main advertising point is the returning pokemon.. Every pokemon should have been in the game on launch. Now with 2 extra DLCS we still don't get them all. Can you just bring back the national dex please and stop lacking as a company.
First, no, it isn't feasible to have the Nat Dex in every single game. The more Pokemon that are created, the longer it would take and the more resources it would take to bring them all every generation making it unfeasible at all.
And second, the don't lack as a company at all. Simply because they don't make the games exactly as *you* want them to be doesn't meant that they are a bad company.
@@toumabyakuya As the franchise grows bigger they make more money. That money could be put into a larger development team.
It would allow for the games being finished when by the launch date. Having more people creating would allow for more content to be made within the game during development.
By doing that including over 1000 different pokemon should be feasible. They can also increase the time between games to put out finished products instead of jamming it all in early then filling the void with rushed DLC.

Not feasible. The more Pokemon are created, the more time is needed. I wouldn't find it weird if by gen 15 they would require 6 years to do so. Do you think investors are capable of waiting that long in between new games being sold?.

@@Slervinator3110 Main game was released in 11.2022. GameFreak-company never fixed it with proper update. It has lots of buggy issues and its problems are widely know. Still they are pumping DLCs without fixing the main issues.

This sentence was said about when SV was first revealed and they didn't improved the framedrop problems even after it was released. Not a single patch managed to fix any of the glaring issues.
It's still prone to crashing, and to avoid some of the crashes, their solution was NOT to optimize their game like maybe stop rendering stuff the player won't see all the time but instead to reduce the amount of Pokemon you encounter. The solution to fix a game about POKEMON was to reduce the amount of POKEMON onscreen, the thing this game is about. And even then the memory leak is still a problem. Not even SwSh was this awful in performance, atleast it had a consistent framerate in each area. Setting aside the fact that you're basically paying now an additional 30 bucks for functions and that were originally in the base game of 60 dollars years ago, you're defending a 60 dollar game that was so unsatisfying because of all the performance issues and lack of responses towards those issues that Nintendo had to re-announce their policy for refunds of digital copies.
If the base game has barely improved after months of bugs and glitches stackpiling with a handful of them still remaining after 8 patches, then I had the right to be judgemental of an season pass that's not missing the same problem. And alas, the first DLC was also underwhelming.
If a game or an DLC is one week away from being released, it's pretty much the final product ready to get shipped out. They won't make drastic changes in a week without accidentally implementing more bugs or redundant code. At best another week after it's released for an patch, and with the track record off SV alone, it's not good. It's simply not good.
Gamefreak did and can do better than this. End of the story.

Dude, you do know that Celebi had an entire different inspiration for it, right?.
With Pokémon becoming increasingly modern, artists hired by Gamefreak add more detail. Sometimes Pokémon look like they belong in Digimon (looking at you, SW/SH), other times they're simply neat.
To clarify, Digimon Pokémon are designed in a way where imaging one wearing clothes and carrying weapons is believable, like in the Digimon show. Not all anthro creatures are Digimon, however the increasing trend is simultaneously funny and concerning.

Then disengage, nobody is forcing you to play the games or engage with the community. And to be fair the only thing the community can do to "fight for a change" is stop paying for the games and stop playing them, and even then Gamefreak is more likely to go under before making any meaningful changes. Just enjoy the games, disassociate the product from the company and just enjoy what's good

@@james_k9654 I haven't bought a Pokémon game since X/Y. The series has been going downhill since, I try each gen through a cousin who follows the franchise and, well, the era of making great games are over. I play romhacks now, they add QoL features Nintendo doesn't, and I'm happier.

I understand all the frustration about the frame rate and poor graphics, especially seeing as what the Nintendo switch can achieve for the Zelda games. But, there is so much to love in S/V in the DLCs. Some fantastic new Pokémon, fun story, great battle animations, music and open-world Pokémon interactions. Ogrepon was absolutely adorable and I can’t wait for this new awesome diamond turtle Pokémon. Bring it on!
To be fair I can kinda understand it when you consider the time between Zelda games compared to Pokemon games, plus it's unlikely that Zelda's devs get divided between multiple projects the way Pokémon's devs do. They simply have more time and resources to optimize the Zelda games, although I do think that something should change with how Gamefreak does it, but at the same time I still enjoy the products
