The little pyramid that could, finally beating the tumor - I assume either because it believed in itself or because friendship was the real power the whole time - was way more emotional than it had any right to be.
I tried so hard to play this when I rented it randomly one weekend. I absolutely couldn’t figure out wtf was going on. Never made it out of the opening level.
I randomly remembered this game and found your video. I remember playing this back in the day and enjoying watching the death scenes alot more than the actual gameplay. I still own it, but I don't have the patience for it anymore. Great video 👍
In all seriousness, I owe credit to Dungeon Chill- In one of his videos he lays out the brass tax that is there’s more content we all like, it doesn’t matter if we take inspiration from him. Made sense! It’s fun and satisfying creating nonsense again. Thanks!
@@Trevelyan2 Of course! To really get down to brass tacks, how would we have stuff like video game of music "genres" (or "tags") if not for people taking inspiration from -- and remixing -- what they like?
Dig the channel. It's always great to find creators that review games in a lightly cynical and jaded sense that can only come from those from the long long ago
@@Trevelyan2 probably PS Mag or some other PS mag that did demo discs, was like 10 so cant remember exactly but defo remember the demo been brutally hard lol

I played Fade to black on DOS and was very impressed, but Tomb Raider 1 blew this game out of the water, i mean, Tomb Raider was far more dynamic, the controls were far better, the graphics too, and had way more style., the transition was alone in the dark, fade to black and then tomb raider, of course there were the sega arcade games but at home i remember those were the most important 3D polygon games in the mid 90s

I could feel that part of the story back in my writing prompts from when I was 14.
This game was too ambitious for primitive hardware of the day. If they remade it now I think it could be amazing
I think he meant "orthogonal walls," because they all seem to be at 90° angles with each other, not unlike Wolfenstein 3D.
Oh jeez, that makes a lot of sense. That unclogs my brain of that thought! Thanks!

If dungeon chill and grim beard had a baby.

I freaking love what you do, do more of it. I'll be to you what you are to Grimbeard and what Grimbeard is to Civvie. Parasocialites all the way down.

@@Trevelyan2 Also I'm big on giving credit where it's due and you do it in a hilarious manner so props for that.
Your reviews are amazing and you deserve more subs. Keep it up.
This comment made my day- thank you
Holy shit this guy only has 1000 subs yet makes great jokes and just great reviews or dives into games. Let's get our boy the subs he deserves.
@@RedDed228 Thanks! I appreciate the kind words.
@@Trevelyan2 I'm just happy I found you, I love your videos and your humor as well. Can't wait to see you hit those big milestones man!
The Conrad player model having actual textures feels so wrong.
I'm pretty sure that O'Connor is secretly the Postal Dude 😂
Thanks, can’t unsee it now!
He's... ahem, secretly someone else as well, if you get far enough in this game...

Yea i remember having the demo disc with this on - even that was unplayable
Wow-I don’t even remember a demo disk for this. Was it PlayStation Magazine? Or was it PC?

This is a good video. I played Fade to Black back in the day and I just thought I sucked at it. Glad to know it was actually the game that sucked
Thanks! And I definitely had warmer memories towards it - totally forgot about 90% of the suck factor.

28:54 AVGN, is that you?
I legit love your videos. Sometiemes Grim is too much and you need a palate cleanser
Nice videos actually, subbing!
This game wanted to be good, it was an interesting concept, but man was it a clunky ass mess!
