Actually no, he'll probably have 90% if not better. Once a city gets over 500k pop the game literally cant load anymore cars. The limit is 16000 i believe so the game cant load the rest of the cars. it would be more accurate to say FPS: 2 xd
Yea urban sprawl is generally a thing. In reality if there was the land for it this city would be surrounded by smaller cities and suburban areas for hundreds of square miles around it.
it is because every single citizen is simulated in this game...this fact restricts number of population, simulation of 10+ mil citizens would be too demanding for hardware

underground highways are actually a great way to lead Traffic trough the City without blocking the roads, public Transport ist also very helpful and important^^

Not if you count the metropolitan/urban areas. That basically means that the population of the suburbs is also included. The metropolitan population of New York City (keep in mind, it includes all of Long Island, and chunks of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut) is around 20 million, so yeah.
It is not only the fact that this gorgeous city has 1 million inhabitants, but that it also looks very natural grown, with the small suburbs and this amazing eye for detail. I'd love to live in this city. You'd be one heck of a mayor

Many people here don't seem to able to comprehend just how big real cities are. New York City has population of about 8,5 million and its land are 789 km², but this fictional city doesn't seem to be nowhere that big.
I was talking about the New York City, not about the entire New York metropolitan area, which has land area of 11,642 km2. Moreover, there's nowhere in world this densely packed city, but I still doubt that this city could have population larger than a few million people, because its area is too small.
Something that’s always bugged me about Cities is that the population just doesn’t match the city size. This for example could easily accommodate 40/50m people in real life and you can use the Tokyo metropolitan area as a good comparison, this is bigger and has 1m residents. Lol.

This really parallels both Tokyo and Singapore. The surrounding forests, the sea, the countless skyscrapers, and the huge sprawling city. Been to both cities and gotta say this has been really fun for me.

Just saw this and the words, Wow and Holy shit do not even begin to do this justice. It really looks like a modern, if slightly futuristic megalopolis with smaller rural towns and cities. The roadwork was truly amazing, The massive highways which split off in many directions and cut through the city like arteries in the human body shows a true artists work and care and dedication to realism. I am truly truly impressed and wish you all the best for your next mega project.

The problem with Cities Skylines is that you build a city the size of god damn Tokyo (like this one for ex) and only has around 1 million people, because only about 20-ish people live in an average skyscraper.
This is nowhere near the size of Tokyo. Honestly, look at a map of Tokyo and you'll see just how massive it is. Don't think of Tokyo as a single city, but as a gigantic metropolitan area about the same size as a small US state.
Cool city. You really love this game to spend so much time in it. I spent over 500 hours to build my 1,000,000 city called Bedrock. I did it on the Hard mode and didn't turn off anything. All services work all game mechanics work.
@@chrise76776 You are rushing it. Envision the flow of traffic, then carefully build your roads. Don't have too many roads connected to another, especially the highway. Congestion is fine at the entrance and exit, as long as everyone on their turn can flow out into the city.

Hopefully if another Cities Skylines is made they'll have a solution that reduces the lag for having a detailed and large city. I feel like it kills the fun of the game if you have to constantly worry about not making a city too detailed or large to prevent lag.

I've played the game before and if the demand is middle or high, high density buildings get filled up within a few in game weeks.
There is a realistic population mod in the Steam Workshop that will adjust population according to building size. You may want to try it.

No traffic problem because of the game limitation for vehicles. After about 300k traffic problem goes away.

Surprisingly, electricity is easy, in big cities … getting the fuel to them can be problematic, once you hit the vehicle limit.

Hopefully if another Cities Skylines is made they'll have a solution that reduces the lag for having a detailed and large city. I feel like it kills the fun of the game if you have to constantly worry about not making a city too detailed or large to prevent lag.
And hopefully it will also have a realistic population depending on the type of building
@@Josh-11769 100 people on a cruise line lol Yeah. Hopefully they fix the big population=lag thing. I don't know much about programming, but I feel like they may solve some of the lag if they don't have every single detail in the city or cim active all at once when you're not looking at it. Like have the cims and fuller details load only within a radius of where you are.
Wow.. I could run that city, at 12 to 15 fps on an i7 4970 - 16gb - 1080 Oc. But that some work.
