Love seeing these Golden Age beauties. Thanks for the report.
So happy when these videos come out. Love see all that Golden Goodness! 🤩
I had my eye on that Captain America Comics #39, but I decided to take a shot at another book in an upcoming Heritage Auction. Thanks for the report.
Good data. Missing out because golden age is very expensive. Thank you for your content.
You: talking about hot golden age books.
Me: stares at chamber 19 and witches tales 25 the whole video.
lol
Really enjoy these golden age market reports. 👍
Allan,
Good report and those high end books were fun to see. I recommend factoring in inflation when you compare recent sales to those from previous years. You'll find some of the books you showed had a loss in value even though they sold for a higher amount than the previous sale. Those you stated had a 3x value increase are actually closer to 1.5x to 2x, which is still very nice for just a couple years.
I did a video about that very issue with comic prices. I think the prices haven't been able to keep up with current rapid inflation.
Just started collecting golden age comics recently. Learning a lot from your content thank you
Thank you for the video and insight - great information
Hi Allan,
Was lucky enough to buy a Cap 2 in June 2006 for 1,200 dollars.Part of the seller's Ebay blurb was that"the comic maintains its integrity." Never quite sure what that meant but have always thought that it sounded great.
Wow it is very major book to own. Congrats!
I sold my Tec 122 in 6.5 for $5K several years ago. Sigh! Still have my PL 13 in 7.0.
Wow 6.5 would be a really pricey book. Probably at the time you got a good price. PL 13 is a nice one though.
Hi Allan,
The MLJ/Archie character named The Shield didn't actually have a shield similar to Captain America's original shield. Rather, it was a case of his costume having body armor which covered his torso which resembled a shield --so, the case was made that Simon and Kirby had ripped off The Shield's actual costume design when they created Captain America's original shield.
Speaking of MLJ, do you have any 1940s MLJ superhero comics in your collection? It would be cool to see a presentation on that.
True...I should have explained better the Shield character. I just happen to have the 1st appearance of the Shield (Pep #1). It's coverless but still cool to have.
That's very cool.
If you haven't already, you should do a video where you flip through the pages and go over the various stories in that historic Pep Comics no. 1.
@@seanmageean5990 Ask for me to show it on a Wednesday video and I will.
does anyone know someone that loves to collect golden age Terry and the Pirates?
i am sorry I should have responded to you earlier. I don't know any Terry and the Pirates collectors. I do collect the good girl covers though.
@@ComicCollectorGeek Thanks for taking the time to reply. It's such a niche rare comic i always hope to find someone that hunts rare ww2 era stuff. Thanks!
