Sans was rapidly teleporting across the city, trying to find Bete. In the original show, Sans said that teleporting took a lot of his remaining magic, that is why he started melting so soon.
Also, since Bete was killed before Asriel killed Chara, the timeline didn't erase itself, meaning that the new timeline was never created. Another thing worth to mention is that the soul cracking was Sans' soul, it not breaking signifies he had enough determination/magic to keep living.(But haha, funny hate go brrr). If you listen to the vfx during the children's fight, you can hear people in the background, meaning that everyone were too confused, scared and occupied to intervene in their fight.

When did Asriel kill Betty, is that what happened in the 1st timeline.

Imagine if Azriel and Hate Flowey were in the priginal version with Animosity Chara and were fighting not only Hate, but Bette Noir included. Also, Hate as a being is a callback from Chara's Hate form in season 1. These powers Hate uses are all the powers you get from Undertale, when the soul changes colours.
alright for my recommendations i think you should first start off by binge watching all of the glitchtale origin videos because they are fairly pretty short and after that watch 'Everything You Need to Know Before Watching UNDERVERSE/XTALE!' by Phil Gaimz which explains everything that you need to know about the AU stuff so you won't be confused when you are watching underverse. When you watch underverse I don't really mind in which way/order you watch it in.
There is full blown document explaining underverse in his discord, he should more than fine.

That's actually one of the first Super Eyepatch Wolf vids I watched and the one that got me looking into Undertale in the first place. 😁

the opening when they show each character and who made it REALLY reminds me of underverse

Also, just to tell you, to prevent confusion in further reactions
When you watch underverse, After you finish 0.4, then do xtale, then the rest of underverse
Just because certain things will make more sense, as it's in chronological upload, as well as certain types of foreshadowing make more sense
So 0.0 to 0.4, then xtale, then 0.5 to 0.7

I was actually thinking about watching Xtale after the first season, but A LOT of people specifically mentioned checking it out after episode 0.4.
Does it spoil the mystery too much, or is it just clarifying what's already in the later episodes?

But after 0.4 when the "surprise happens"
That's when xtale should technically be watched, since in a way, it acts as a well placed flashback in a way
Then continue to underverse, since 0.5 and 0.6 and ect, feel like season 2 atm, until a proper season 2 happens
But yes, it more or less has some of its mystery and hype gone if you watch all of underverse first, then xtale
Because instead of it feeling like one thing, it'll feel like 2 different stories
Again, it's your choice how you want to watch it
But if you do like this series, then personally, watching up to 0.4, then xtale, then the rest of underverse will keep all the mystery and hype that it possibly can
And since your great at piecing stuff together, it'll help not accidentally misunderstand stuff, and help feel like you didn't miss any information
(I've tried it that way, and it does feel like that)
And also, yes, xtale does clarify some stuff that happens in 0.5 and later

If you want to know what that person was at 40:28 you should watch Hate's Origin by Camila Cuevas, it would clear all the confusion of who that mystery person is.
To be honest, I really liked the FATALITY from Lily, when she squeezed an orange girl with a shield, probably turning her into mincemeat.
I still recommend that you try all of the origin shorts for season 3 before you move on from Glitchtale.

I heard it was a prequel, but I wasn't sure if it would spoil any twists in underverse (like Star wars 1-3 before the original trilogy).

@@alphaxbox3728 These fan distortions of Glitchtale are literally so much worse in terms of killing the characters you love than Camila could ever be
Not to mention how both of these included Chara getting killed
This one gave Betty killing over to Sans(which couldn't work, Sans' power was just nowhere near enough)
And the previous one had absolutely humiliated Chara before killing him off
So they didn't even let him have an awesome badass fight, just made it so he's fainted most of the time

@@narrativeless404 Including Chara dying is a personal taste so I won't debate that. But sans is a direct counter to Betty. Out of everyone in the group sans poses the biggest threat. That's solely due to his Karmic Retribution ability. If he didn't sacrifice himself to save a friend, and then use DT to save his family he would of absolutely bodied Betty who would've built up tons of LOVE at this point. The fact she was damaged from a blast that was mostly canceled out is also proof of that.
