    ‘Yellow’ effect seems helpful to me because it cured the ugly blue cast in the beginning image. I expect to have to adjust color balance after applying an ND filter anyway. Really like this channel! Excellent narration, thorough narrative, clear presentation!

    I'm wondering if the VND can be used in other 4x5 mattebox systems? Like is it as big as 2x filter trays and could be used in any mattebox or is it proprietary to smallrigs system? Thanks!

    Is it possible to stack a circular and a 4x5.65 filter in this mattebox? Great video btw!

    After a year, what are your thoughts? I think I am going to pick one of these up

    Can you insert the VND in reverse so that the adjustment wheel is on the left (operator side) of the camera?

    If you plan to use this with anything less than 20mm, expect major vignetting. Even though Smallrig claims that it supports 16mm or greater that is definitely not the case!

    Can it be used on a 95mm lens without adaptors? Sorry for the dumb question but I am trying to figure out what kind of gear I need for filming wildlife on my tamron 150-600mm lens.

    When stacking filters, what about a wedge to angle the filter to rid of reflections? Still haven’t seen anything pro on this beside Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom being the least expensive matte box to offer this solution.

    What about cross pattern on Sirui 35mm?

    Curious if you have issues with the VND being hard to adjust? I've heard a lot of users complaining about that nad debating on whether or not it would bug me!

      I just got this. It’s not hard to adjust IMO.

    "... and there is a standard size gear that you can adjust by either hand or motor." Can you show us this with the new Small Rig wireless Focus system, or any other such system?

  • @aevoss
    @aevoss 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    There’s also a cross pattern using VND. I wouldn’t use VND. Most if not all VNDs’ do it. I definitely saw it in your test but you didn’t mention it.

    14:12 hurts my eyes - I hope this is just an issue with this particular copy...

    Variable NDs are cool if you're doing landscapes. If you aim a variable ND at a person at the right angle of the sun... AND you're stopped down enough... what happens is, you remove all the specular highlights from their skin and it looks dry and dull as bone.

    • @thestudentsyes6982
      @thestudentsyes6982 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How far stopped down do you need to be? I do notice this fairly often in other peoples footage. Weird exposure in outdoors that looks unnatural.

    • @fourth1000
      @fourth1000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thestudentsyes6982I cant give a stop number... but just to a natural degree of ND to shoot casually. I put my Variables in my kit bag and just bought normal ones.

      Will it work with the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens and how can I used a use a cpl polarizer as well as the vnd together on it?
