That's a good point! I never thought about not having a ton of tire choices for that size. Hopefully this brings more to the table! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
Had a good time virtually hanging out with you guys on this one, as always. The blue sample bike is supposed to be here today or tomorrow. You guys got me excited, can’t wait to check it out. If anyone is planning to be at the BMX Hall of Fame events this weekend, I’ll have it there. 🙌
@@michaelpreddy5514 Thanks so much. Yes, video for the blue one is coming later this week if all goes well! But yeah, I’m also big fans of Kevin and Bernie. 🙌❤️

I bought a 26" Mongoose with a plated frame in early '82, a Cruiser Class bike that looked similar to this. Great to see this one on the market. And I did not know about Harry Leary's death, so sad to hear that, condolences to his family and friends. And in '79 I bought a JMC because of him and his BMX Action cover, the one where he is looking back while up in the air. I'd say that was my favorite BMX magazine cover. RIP Harry.
That lookback cover shot is one of the most iconic images in BMX history! Yeah, sad day for the BMX community to hear of Harry's passing. He was a polarizing figure for sure because of his temper, but you can't deny how much that guy worked to be the best. He's a true legend! Thanks for sharing that info with us and thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
Bernie and Kevin, jonesin to build a Chevy, um bike!! What's in the box, what's in the booox??? Lemme seeeeee!!! Trademark, Kevin, trademark!! That creates their heritage. No can change, mang. Bars have an old school vibe. And stuff the seat post in and get that frame outta that clamp!! Oakley knockoff grips, how awesome is that?? That bike is a punkass, I'd rock that in a heartbeat. And place a bowtie on the headtube while keeping that sweet head badge!! Cause Chevy had a Monza many years ago.
He was a true BMX legend and it was so sad to hear of his passing. I owned a Silver Streak back in the day and idolized that entire DB team! Thanks for taking the time to share that and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Yeah buddy, as always great Contant, you are always truthful about what you see and what you get that makes you very very Authentic and I do love Monza every time I see when remind of kuwahara . PS I do love your socks. You are a bunch of great guys. We’ll see you soon.
Couple things, Guys... excellent video as always! First, I was with you, Kevin, when you mentioned the traditional "sunset" stickers (I own both a 24 and a 26 inch Monza) UNTIL you put on the padset at the end- those pads made the stock stickers "POP", in my opinion. Also, a 27.5 is awesome (I love my OM Duro), but higher bars are a must! I did 9.5's on the SE and they're significantly more comfy. Aloha!
With the front brakes in the way of tyre installation, just let the air out. Usually it will pass. Much easier for me then loosening the brake cable or removing the brake shoes
@@cruisinginthe808 God bless brother. I am in my late 40's. No more hard core cycling, just cruising now for me. You guys just share the same passion with me. Cool bros, beautiful bikes, nice cruise, my kind of cycling channel👍

when's the ride video for this bike coming out? cant wait to hear how you feel it compares to Monza's 26" ....those handle bars seem kind of small for that bike though, its a cruiser not a 10 speed id throw some CW handle bars on that bike..

The old school frame and fork manufacturer, Tange, makes the Monzas. They definitely have that old school look and feel. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
The chrome on the crank didn't look so good maybe because it's a prototype bike or maybe it was just dirty and in need of some chrome polish. Also it needs a red chain.
It kinda has that brushed look to it. It’s not like the frame but I’m not sure if it will be better in the production model. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼

Not too sure about the integrity of monza. Hurried and pre-ordered the gold 24 as they were limited to 50. Since it sold out so fast, they are releasing 50 more. Took the point out of limited to 50!
I can see where you are coming from for sure. Yeah, if you're lead to believe this is a limited drop only to find out it's not, I can see why you might think that. I've known Thomas for awhile now and while I can't speak for him, I can tell you that he does not seem like he's that type of guy to try and do cash grabs like that. They got burned a little having to order a ton of bikes in their last order and so this time around, they wanted to take less of a risk by doing the pre-orders. Pre-orders allow them to not have to have a ton of cash backing orders that might take awhile to sell. It's not as nice as being able to just order and get your bike in a few days, but they are a small company trying to do their best to stay in the game. Thomas reads the comments so hopefully he'll see this so he can see where you are coming from. I think you'll still love that gold Monza though and I hope this didn't sour your purchase too much! Keep us posted on how you like it when you get it! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
In all fairness, they have had their 26 in stock for a few years now and are a small company so orders for bikes to their factory don’t happen often. They aren’t big enough to keep bikes in stock all the time. They are moving to a pre-order model to save on costs. The 27.5 is bigger and has better parts. That along with shipping costs doubling or tripling creates a higher price point for this new bike. I’ve been riding a pre-production one this past week and it’s a nice bike! I have a video comparing it against the 26 that will be live on YT in a few hours. I also have a code you can use for $100 off if that helps! Use 808FRIENDS at checkout and the discount will be applied to your order. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!! 🤙🏼
It does have mountain bike feels and I think it’s because of the larger frame size. We each have our own likes and dislikes and not every bike will fit our needs. Appreciate you watching and sharing your comments! 🤙🏼
Bernie is too talented, he can build the whole bike with a crescent wrench! The chrome on the Monza's are amazing!
