    I do hope and pray they are together due to the shortage of water. Perhaps there maybe rain coming.

    What a fantastic siting but just wondering if it’s a few different herds maybe related just coming together a bit of socialising, would loved to have witnessed it.

      Hi, You are so right. Yes a herd is usually a few families who know each other coming together. In this case all of these families were heading in the same direction to seek forest cover for the night. I hope that helps clarify.

    Perhaps they see the dark clouds on the horizon and are hoping for rain. And heading in that direction. Very smart

    Would be nice to see some drone footage ... if it's allowed of course. Many national parks don't allow it.

      Hi, I would never use a drone because it would add yet one more human invention that could be very bothersome and stressful to wildlife. But I totally get your desire to see these wonderful beings from all angles. I hope you will be able to feel their wonderful energy just by sitting quietly with them (in the video) as I was able to do in person. That's the best I can do. Thank you for your comment.

    It makes me wonder how big the herds were in prehistoric times, before humans began hunting them in large numbers, say 1,000 years ago. I'll bet they were much bigger than even this large herd.

    • @LoriSavingWild
      @LoriSavingWild  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, i have wondered that myself. I have heard of herds that were 250 plus. This one was 104 or 112. I cant remember.

    They keep moving in search of water.

      And in search of shelter for the night to protect themselves from poachers and other predators.
