Oh my gosh i literally burst out laughing when you were talking about parents evening and said i want the teachers to think "oh she smells clean". Lol😂
I've been to a couple funerals in recent years and I've always felt appropriate in a black midi-length dress with a light grey cardigan over top (plus a neutral coat depending on time of year). It threads the needle of funerals that expect black and funerals where you're not sure. IMO you can't go wrong dressing a bit more conservatively (no mini dresses or cleavage).
I would never ever wear jeans to a funeral.. Don't think it shows respect for the situation. Would just switch out the grey jeans with plain black trousers. Otherwise loved this!
I worked in funerals for years, jeans are extremely common and most families take a more relaxed approach to dress code so jeans are not inherently a big no no, but it depends on the family in question and their wishes.
Mostly, for European people, casual dark navy or black and covered if it is religious. It is a part of a culture to wear black, inappropriate clothing feels disrespectful.
Very cool video! I feel you and Alexandra Stedman are the ones who nail their style. It’s affordable, comfy and still with a twist. Love your content recently very much 😊
Loved this video! And as a teacher, you‘re absolutely right, I honestly do not care what parents wear but I do notice when someone looks put together AND I‘d totally compliment your cardigan after the parent teacher evening haha
I absolutely loved this video Lily ❤ and now I want your whole wardrobe 😂 I feel like you just nail effortless laid back style. The cream skirt jumper combo was just 😍 Tip for future parents evenings…..the teachers don’t care what you wear but your teenagers will. Gotta look like a cool mum in front of their friends 😂😂 x
As mentioned I think it totally depends on the situation, this will be completely different for different cultures, communities and situation. I’ve had many of my own family funerals and my family have absolutely no preference on what guests wear to our family funerals.
Love these looks, I definitely have a similar style to you. Please can I ask what size you wear the sezane red cardigan in please, I haven’t a clue what there sizes are like. Xx
I love all of these except the rainy/windy day outfit 😅. I mean you’re going to step out the door, you’re umbrella will get wrecked immediately and then you have a wool coat that is going to get soaked and smelly and really heavy. And the snood as well, so your hair will get soaked too. If you live in a rainy country you NEED a nice, big, waterproof coat. with a big hood. Uniqlo do really nice ones!
I really enjoy these scenario-dressing videos! You have a great casual personal style, however, there are occasions that being dressed a bit smarter is more appropriate. The only area that may be lacking in that scenario is your footwear. Have you tried a lower heeled slingback? A slingback generally looks a bit more sleek and sophisticated but a mid-sized heel or even a kitten heel can dress up a look without being unsteady or uncomfortable like some higher heels might be. Just a thought to give you more comfortable options for dressier occasions. Maybe even a heeled loafer style might fit in your comfort zone but provide a dressier look for those occasions. 🤷🏻♀️❤🥰
I care abt what my parents wear because, from what they wear, we can see how approachable they are and how much we can tell them about their child. Sone parents, in business attire, are just rubbish as they are rushing for another meeting
No, I only used it for this video as I have to stand far away from the camera and so the audio is always really quite, so it keeps the audio consistent whether I’m far or close to the camera
As mentioned I think it totally depends on the situation, this will be completely different for different cultures, communities and situation. I’ve had many of my own family funerals and my family have absolutely no preference on what guests wear to our family funerals.
I think that's quite cultural. In Ireland people frequently go to funerals of people in their community or relatives of friends. If you're not in the immediate family jeans are definitely very acceptable. That's the Irish context. Could be very different elsewhere
I also think the colour of the jeans was appropriate and overall saying "jeans isn't appropriate" seems to be taken out of context when you see the actual chosen outfit which was very somber.
I personally wouldn’t either but as Lily said I her experience/culture it’s fine. I’d always wear black trousers/skirt and some kind of colour on top like a grey or darker shade. I think all black should be more for immediate family but still stay respectful.
I think jeans for a funeral is a hard one. I've experienced it at one before, and we didn't put a dress code, but I did think it looked odd. I didn't want to say anything to that person because I had enough other things to think about. But they might have gone away thinking it was fine, because what are you supposed to say at that moment except if they asked you beforehand? I guess it feels a but like insisting to hard and having a "casual style" instead of dressing for the occasion to me. But funerals in the UK might be very different from my country, so it might be a different vibe
Yeh I think if you’re not close with the person better to be safe and “smarter”. Most funerals I go to they want to celebrate the life, some even ask people to wear colour.
I thought the funeral outfit was appropriate, the coat dresses up the outfit and you're "invisible" without being overly casual 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Great ideas for everything - awesome video!
All outfits were perfect for the occasion Only with the first one i would have changed the shoes into a loafer & added a belt. So suggestion is belts , preferably 3 different ones ▪︎ 1 brown (tone to your preference light, dark,..) for casual looks ▪︎ 1 black with silver, gold or black hardware ▪︎ finally last 1= 1 with more statement (like the Khaite studded belt but no way 1 pay 800€ for a belt , but i loved it so much , it goes perfectly with my personal style, but although I hate , really hate dupes, i bought the h&m version. Its slimmer then Khaite one but 9,99€ 💁🏻♀️ no brainer ) or another one oc. doesn't have to be studded, just one more statement that instantly adds to a look ✌🏻🪻
had to x out after the „depends on the vibe comment“ at a funeral. it‘s a FUNERAL, there is no ~vibe~ ? totally missed the mark here. wear black top to bottom. end of story
It’s just not the case though. I’ve been to funerals that have wanted no one in black. Some people find it offensive to dress sad. It DOES depend on the family’s wishes.
@@lilypebbles that‘s the exception tho, is it not. people asked for a funeral outfit, what are the odds that it‘s one where they dont want you in classic black lmao
It wasn’t for them to wear, it was give me a scenario for me to wear. And I know my friends and family. I think I caveated enough when explaining that the dark grey jeans I wore could easily be swapped for trousers if it was more suitable depending on the funeral. Not everyone requires that. Just like when I often show that it’s normal for my friends and family wear black to weddings and people on the internet get very offended by that. Everyone is different.
Please just stick with Ganni and not "GaRnni"! As a Dane, it has always been Ganni as you say it, so let's stick with the original and not make it farrrncaay.

Love this video! So helpful talking through why you styled certain items. Definitely has given me inspiration! 😊
You're looking beautiful, Lily, and you really have your style down pat. A very enjoyable video!! Guffawed all the way through "parents' evening" 🤣.
Love the hush jumper, I looked online after seeing the Vieve video and found Mint velvet do one and M&S had a cheaper less contrast version
Loveee the birthday party look, chic yet casual
Teacher here, guarantee we do not care at all what you wear unless you maybe showed up in your pjs. Love this video format. Fx
🤣 thought so
Such a great video. I love that it’s not all beige neutrals. Also yes for the spring one!!

This is such a great concept, thanks for doing again! Brilliant🥰LOVE the finale fit!
Not sure about jeans to a funeral. But I liked some of the other looks.
Agree, do not wear jeans at all funeral.
No one dresses up at Jewish funerals. That is what she is referencing.
@@flfl4871No, the person asking didn't stat what kind of funeral

To be fair her coat was long so couldn't see much of the jeans
When it’s windy and raining in London I wear a hat and use my umbrella as a shield 🛡️ to save my make up 🤣🤣
Love love loved this video!! Really useful tips and loved the outfits, we have a sjmilar casual style 😊
you're so good at that!
Any recommendations for a cosy to wear at home but can wear out tracksuit/ coord set? Something that washes well x
lily where are your earrings from in your first outflit with the leather black trousers? ❤
I would love to know what cameras do you use, especially for vlogging
Love these looks, I definitely have a similar style to you. Please can I ask what size you wear the sezane red cardigan in please, I haven’t a clue what there sizes are like. Xx
Fantastic, loved this format
Because we shouldn’t be afraid to suck at something new. (Re the ice skating)
Great answer! ❤️
I love that your outfits are realistic!
I loved this video!!!
Another more summery one later in the year please.
I don't usually comment but wanted to say really enjoyed this video! Loved getting to see a range of styles with a purpose!
What you wore for "parents night" is what I wear as a teacher 😂
Love this content, more of it please!
My style isn't like yours but I really enjoy seeing how you would style things 😊
I especially love your casual outfits. So bummed the chartreuse Arket Beanie is sold out in Germany 😢 the perfec pop of color fur us brunettes imho.
No heels girl too. I would wear sth more glamorous at the kid's party, hoping that the dad would chase the kids around 😅. Loved the last look❤
Such a fun video. You have some lovely pieces and i really like your style . Xx
I like how your style has evolved, but still stayed true to you. I found myself going “that’s really a Lily outfit” to your choices.
Ah this is lovely. Thank you x
I’m a fellow casual girlie - I love this video! 🤗 Thank you! 🤩

Love this, good fun to watch, lol at parents evening 😂
I’m a Dane and I’m here to tell you you are pronouncing Ganni correctly! Not gone-y, ganny! Like granny without the r
Love these videos so much!
Very helpful outfit looks! Thank you 💐💐💐💐

I think the scenarios were a bit too niche lol enjoyed your first video

Jeans is fine for a funeral.. is the thought and effort that counts.
I'm from Ireland & the outfit for the funeral is very appropriate!
I swear you didn't use to walk around carrying a tiny mic befoe???
No, I only used it for this video as I have to stand far away from the camera and so the audio is always really quite, so it keeps the audio consistent whether I’m far or close to the camera
very nice outfits! :)
The shoes on or off dilemma at a house party is real
🙌🏼
Who has a shoes off house party!? I mean if anything it’ll be people spilling drinks rather than walking dirt in 🤣🤣
We’re a no shoes in the house, house. So we invested in slippers for guests to change into. So we also wear slippers.
I always think for a funeral to dress smart and anything smart would be acceptable.. I wouldn’t wear jeans!
I never comment, but as a Dane I just wanted to say, that you are pronouncing Ganni just right ❤️
Wondering where all the plasticy toys are gone 🤣🙈 love your videos!
🤣 in the lounge. Obvs

You’re pronouncing Ganni the right way👌 It’s the danish way and it’s a danish brand - you go Lily!
Oh phew!
Love the video not the mic 😢

Found this video hard to watch because of how it kept focusing / unfocusing - especially at the beginning 😢
I know. So frustrating! I have no idea why the camera was doing that. I wish the perfect camera existed
It is actually ga nni, not gaaaa nni- spoken as a danish person;)
