Deadcrows1981 VTM is great and all but Requiem has a lot I prefer over VTM. The touchstone mechanic, the general trying to stay human kind of thing is great. Getting rid of all the clans that weren't fleshed out that well was also a good way. The reason I cannot run a VTM game is because it's really hard to know all of the lore. You always have that one player who's read all the books, can tell you which prince is in what city for example. Requiem doesn't have that, leaves it open to allow you to fill in the blank
If you are a story teller, you can wipe the set up from the 90s off the map and build your own. Also that kid with all the lore stored in his head might make a way better storyteller then just someone who doesnt bother reading and learning the game well enough to know what might be out there. and the books are a guide, not to hold you hand. The books say so themselves. Fun over lore and even game mechanics. The lore is just there to help you when you need it. Make up your own.
Hey Gentleman Gamer, could you do a video where you talk about what a RPG vampire console/pc game set in the The World of Darkness should/could be like? what you would personally like to see, and also what an eventual game developer need to do right to make it feel like a masquerade game as it is described in the RPG books and other related media. that's a video i would really like to see!
+The Gentleman Gamer that's awesome! i just think that the vampire lore and world they have created in the V: the masquerade set in the world of darkness has a HUGE potential for games, that hasn't really been tapped. the blending of vampire politics, horror elements and the vampiric powers and magical abilities is just such a fantastic setting for both games and movies alike imo, if done right. but i think they have to think big if anyone is planning on doing it, and they would have to throw in a lot of development money to make it right and of quality. a kind of open-world with a solid main story, and a huge array of side-quests and missions/exploring ala the elder scrolls series, expanding on the lore of the world of darkness and general mythos. perhaps set in a city setting ala assassins creed, with the ability to move around either through crowds of people blending in, or running the rooftops, or through a city-wide network of sewers and underground now-forgotten buildings. all depending on what kind of vampire lineage you choose to play as. i don't know, i just have so many ideas i would love to see brought to life in a game like this. looking forward to see what you have to say about it!

I'm kind of new to VTM and a question just came to mind.... Can a vampire be fat? Like, if they were embraced while overweight, would they maintain that weight, and is there a way for someone who's effectively dead to lose weight? I imagine surgical solutions might work, but I'm curious if there's any other way for a vampire to get "in shape", so to speak.

I wish you would do a Vampire the Masquerade rpg ideas for modern day for a group of various players. Could you please? This is the way the game was created. I sometimes have issues making non-combat based games.
Just modern day non-combatant scenario/ideas. I started watching some VTM player videos to get some ideas. I played the game years ago and loved Bloodlines. I run a Pathfinder campaign on Sundays and played D&D back in the day, 2nd edition. I am actually creating various "different" scenarios for Pathfinder and plan on doing a masquerade for that. The players will solve riddles and do various physical challenges for the King and other nobles for a prize. My biggest problem in VTM is I start making things combat or just get unsure what to do next. In Pathfinder/D&D it's all about going up in level, getting better weapons, and getting more powerful at the core. In Vampire I sometimes start with a cool idea get the game going, then think what next and draw a blank. To me D&D is more combat based and Vampire is more story telling. But just figuring out how and why a group of modern day Vampires would get motivated is sometimes hard. I do enjoy the game but just stall on these ideas. Also I have been watching you on and off for sometime, keep up the great work. :)

I haven't played for many years, but I believe that you have a few options; 1) Choose to defend/dodge etc as you main action, 2) Multiple actions, for example attack and defend, 3) Use Celerity for more actions and use for defense. For example you can chose to fire your gun, and dodge the opponents fist by taking the lowest dice pool of Dexterity + Firearms, and Dexterity + Brawl, divide dices for these two actions as you see fit. Successes achieved for dodging the fist is removed from attackers successes. I might be wrong because I haven't really played 20v yet.
Her Daughter would remain a Child forever and suffer of every aspect of the vampiric curse. I like to think that she would suffer much more than the average adult, because children and teenagers most likely have low self-control, falling to the Beastial side and being more prone to frenzy. c:
In addition there is the flaw in V20 called child, that you could apply if you were to put the child on a character sheet. Child (3pt. Flaw) - You were a small child (between five and 10 years old) at the time of your Embrace, leaving your Physical Attributes underdeveloped and making it difficult to interact with some aspects of mortal society. You may not have more than two dots in Strength or Stamina at character creation, except when raising Physical At-tributes with blood points, and the difficulties of all die rolls when attempting to direct or lead mortal adults are increased by two. Characters with this Flaw should also take the Short Flaw. Short (1pt. Flaw)You are well below average height - four and a half feet (1.5 meters) tall or less. You have difficulty reach-ing or manipulating objects designed for normal adult size, and your running speed is one-half that of an aver-age human The physical body will stay the same and look the same throughout their un-life, and can have some very interesting moments if a player character dons a child-like character.
From a Roleplay perspective you could use nature, demeanour to your advantage. And the demeanour can change throughout a characters un-life. Again there is the child nature/demeanour which you could play on or you could pick up the child later on in their un-lives after say 20 years, there body would be the same but their persona / knowledge would have changed in that time. Could have some really run stuff come up like the character not being able to get into bars/clubs for life, gets questioned whenever they wonder the streets at night by themselves. "Have you lost your mommy?, Hold on one second I'll call the police and they'll be able to make sure you get home". Do you allow the person to make the call and risk a masquerade breach or do you convince them that you know where you're going or get them to go into the scary alley to get your toy that you dropped. There you can feed and ensure you aren't reported.
If I'm interpreting you correctly, you're saying Sophie is an immigrant FROM the US to Puerto Rico? If so, that's not possible. Puerto Rico is part of the US.
Gentleman Gamer, I started following you recently, but I really love your work. I wanted to ask you a weird question: being born in 1994, the first edition of vampire I could lay my hands on is the V20; same thing for Werewolf and Mage. And since I live in Italy, where most of the previous editions weren't translated in italian, it is pretty difficult to find them. But recently I've been able to read some of Werewolf and Vampire oldest books, and realized that the 20th anniversary editions are actually extremely reductive (obviously a 500 pages book can't tell as much as more than 40 books). The question is this: do you think that the 20th anniversary editions are actually good for a newbie player since they are obviously addressed to a veteran gamer that already knows those games? For example, I read the WW20 and started GMing a chronicle. Before reading the Umbra book I was struggling a lot in describing the penumbral ambients, since what the base manual says, in my opinion, is not enough. I'm waiting for your response, and I send you my best regards.
Fabrizio Corriera Hi Fabrizio! I'd say the core books for the 20th anniversary lines are still the best, as they provide more options than any of the previous versions. With 1st edition, I would have needed the Book of the Wyrm to know all the Wyrm's minions, and I'd need the Umbra sourcebook to describe the umbra. I feel it's the same with the 20th anniversary lines, except the books are all accessible via DriveThruRPG, all up to date, and in full colour.
I can certainly understand your point, Matthew, about preferring 13th generation vampires as new characters but personally I love playing characters that are a bit more established in their personality and established in their social standing within the vampire RPG game world community. it gives me a much better Foundation to sort of stick 2 in terms of a personality type I think and plus I honestly just prefer the idea of playing a 7th or 8th generation vampire or if it's dark ages I prefer 5th and 6th that just seems more appealing to me. I like being able to have a wide range of abilities at my disposal and the freedom to use them or even requirement to use a few at a time to resolve some scenario in a game setting. I also had my fair share of playing RPGs and having no systems like generations and basically having to start from nothing and I genuinely have gotten sick and tired over the years of always having to roll a newbie dip shit type of character that doesn't know any better LOL
Neb Shake That's completely understandable, and I've played and ran many games of that type too. I would say though that 13th Gens have access to five dots in their Disciplines, so they're not limited.
The Gentleman Gamer very true. Have you ever ran games where all the players were thin bloods or dhampirs at all and does that change the experience very much?
Enjoyed watching this, good video. I haven't played vampire in about 20 years so it is nice to see a charcter being developed. I thought the character might be better with something unusual or surprising about her. Perhaps she has half a dozen men buried under her patio or something?
I am the only person I know that makes characters like this creating a human then a vampire......using story and dots as a background story. My biggest issues is family normally the char is either an orphan or moved far away from any family or the family members are all dead.
Puerto Rico isnt a nationality...its a part of America. They’re all US citizens. They’re also mostly Caucasian (Hispanic caucasians to be sure, but caucasians nonetheless). XD Just some minor quibbles in an otherwise excellent video.

I might be wrong because I haven't really played 20v yet.
p0ck3tp3ar This character can do as the other commenters have stated, or rely on the other members of her coterie. She's not a combatant.
what if Sophie was so desperate and frustrated that she embraced her daughter? and how does that work if a child would be embraced?
You have difficulty reach-ing or manipulating objects designed for normal adult size, and your running speed is one-half that of an aver-age human
The physical body will stay the same and look the same throughout their un-life, and can have some very interesting moments if a player character dons a child-like character.
Yeah and there's that too. I was thinking more on a roleplaying perspective rather than a mechanic perspective. But yeah, those are pretty good.
c:
There you can feed and ensure you aren't reported.
requiem or masquerade witch is better?
muss Depends what you're looking for in a game.
If I'm interpreting you correctly, you're saying Sophie is an immigrant FROM the US to Puerto Rico? If so, that's not possible. Puerto Rico is part of the US.
Do you know where you can take your logic?
Gehenna?
Bit of a harsh response..
I speak only in jest ;)
Lorekeeper Percival I like how the person that was directed at responded knowing it wasn't completely serious and you thought he was being harsh
Really enjoyed the video
Thank you so much!
I apologize for being the person to request this video and then missing the live-stream. *facepalm*
HumanoidCableDreads Don't worry - a few people have asked for this over time.
My biggest issues is family normally the char is either an orphan or moved far away from any family or the family members are all dead.
what?
Puerto Rico isnt a nationality...its a part of America. They’re all US citizens. They’re also mostly Caucasian (Hispanic caucasians to be sure, but caucasians nonetheless). XD Just some minor quibbles in an otherwise excellent video.
"If she was American I'd say she has a dot in firearms" ahahahah, that's great. -non-gun-toting American
Another WoD game on PC/console? Sounds good. Not a fan of Cyanide, though. Their adaptations aren't very good, but I hope they break that trend here.
....Why? 👳🏿
She wants to escape poverty so she goes to.........Puerto Rico?
Vampires are real.
Really?
THE MASQUERADE HAS BEEN BREACHED
Shhhhh rule number 1 of Bite club
ahah so golden xD
male
Αλέξανδρος Βασιλείου I think you're commented on the pre-recorded version.
How did he know I was on mobile in bed?!?!?!
I see all.
