Love these videos. I just bought the SuperFood pasta for my wife. With these sort of pastas, I feel they tend to fall apart and are more fragile to cook with than traditional pastas. Thanks for the recommendation.
Depends on how long you cook them. These are great GF alternatives because they have actual protein (which most GG stuff does not have) and some mitigated carbs compared to the auto-carboload that GF usually is (because more fiber)... but Mike is right and I've explained it to other people in almost those same terms even though I have to eat it.

Careful with chaga mushrooms - depending on the type (and how would you know if you buy them processed?) they can cause kidney stones or even kidney failure.
I've had both red lentil and green pea pastas that were perfect, and ones that were... "powdery" is a close enough description, but essentially still the texture of peas or lentils. The best I've had was half the price of the one in the video, and weirdly enough, a store brand. So, don't write them off just because one turns out like molded lentils, just try another brand. COOKING TIPS: boil the water, pour in the pasta and *immediately* start the timer, don't wait for it to boil again. When the timer goes off, start fishing out average size pieces and taste them for doneness. Then strain and cold rinse it immediately; it doesn't need to be stone cold just no longer cooking. It's a pretty narrow window between "powdery"/not done and ball of mush. And there is no such thing as aldente. It's done or it's not. And reheating isn't a good bet either. Have your sauce hot and ready, and use that to bring the temperature back up. EAT ASAP. If you have leftovers, store it in the sauce and reheat as quickly as possible. The texture will start to change, and knowing what it is, it doesn't bother me, but I don't think you'd fool anybody on day two.
Dried figs are a common dry fruit in India. (called anjeer in India). They come stringed up on a jute rope (rope is not to be eaten). Soak it in water overnight, tastes amazing! Must try.
Bone broth is consumed for the collagen extracted from the bone marrow. Supposedly collagen will help your skin and joints. In a pot it takes 24 to 48 hours to simmer. I make mine with a pressure cooker for 2 to 4 hours.
With the exception of the pasta, which is a genuinely good idea, everything else fits the stereotype I have in my head of LA, and its not a good stereotype...
Riverside here.... the vast majority of us don't eat this crap. We. Like. TACOS. Lol.. and burgers. The pasta looks awesome though and i may try it. The rest was crap.
Riverside is less than 45 minutes from LA with traffic. We go into LA a lot, particularly for entertainment. So yeah, it's not LA, but it's pretty darn close.
I live in West Hollywood. It's a mix on who does and who doesn't eat stuff like this. A lot of people move out here to try and be famous, or feel 'beautiful' to go along with the beach weather, and those are usually the 'health-food' yuppies. That being said - LA is a MAJOR food town. We're a veritable melting pot of cultures and therefore flavors, and you can find a lot of phenomenal food here. We also have a lot of amazing farmers' markets where you can get great produce and products right in the middle of LA. The key word I'd use to describe Los Angeles is 'diverse'. And honestly, don't go on about 'Riverside not being LA'. Los Angeles is MASSIVE. Riverside is still Los Angeles, as is Malibu, as is Pasadena, as is Torrance, as is Culver City.... you get the idea. They're still considered part of LA. I think some people still even consider Disneyland as being 'in LA', even though it's technically in Anaheim and like two hours away. We are big. Do not compare us to your tiny European cities. xP

I'd like to see something from the (hopefully for me) growing trend of low-FODMAP food, especially things like pasta sauce. Things in that category are often very helpful for people with IBS and other lower digestive tract problems that are otherwise hard/impossible to reliably treat.
I'd like to try that red pasta. I'm trimming down my flour and wheat and egg intake because I'm starting to suspect that I'm developing an allergy to them. I'm missing Pass It On and Normals Battle, guys!
You don't develop an allergy...you develop an intolerance (bloating, incontinence, brain fog, arthritic joint swelling, etc.). Allergic reactions (hives, swelling of the throat, etc.) happen or they do not. They can be sudden but they are not developed.
@@OGimouse1 good to know about the difference of intolerance and allergies. Ooh, I like the pasta substitute one. Mostly just so I can have pasta with less carbs, which is always helpful. I love pasta, wish I could eat it more.
They also make pasta that's *only* lentils.
"I'm gooey in the middle, baby let me bake!"
Did Ben get new glasses or am I just realizing now that the purple really brings out his eyes? Either way I really like them!
He's had them all year already and I think they're more blue than purple? I really liked them too :) I suspect Ben is one of those good glasses wearers that actually checks his eye sight every year as we're told to do, unlike me who haven't checked my eye sight in 6 years :P
Time stamp (if relevant) please
@@Missmethinksalot1 you can really see his glasses in the beginning and the end, when he and Jamie is talking to the fridge.
"Highly saturated market" ha, I got you, Mike!
It would be really interesting to see what each of you eats in a day. You should do a series where everyone takes turn filming a “what I ate today” type of video showing their meals/snacks as the day goes on. I’m always interested to see what other people eat in a typical day.
It’s so crazy because mike read the expiry date “30 March 2021” then Said “that’s so far away” and here I am watching this video in March 2021! Guess march 2021 wasn’t as far away as we all thought CRAZYYYYYY
The wine glass on the top right of the screen is driving me bonkers in the quick cuts between the boys!!
SO how about this video idea! BEN vs CHRIS MOROCCO from Bon Appetit - BLINDFOLDED FOOD CHALLENGE!! Give the people what they want!
James is just the best for this kind of videos. Love you all, but it's a fact.
Mike: “I dunno this bone broth is overrated if u ask me sis”
Also Mike: *drinks every last drop*
That last glass of sludge belongs on Good Mythical Morning.
Activated charcoal should not be consumed! Unless its a medical emergency.
I will say downing a couple activated charcoal pills was incredibly helpful when i had food poisoning. But no way I would down that stuff normally.
Only time I've made someone take activated charcoal, they'd overdosed on medication. We were in the hospital and I was the one their making them drink the sweatendd charcoal sludge... Not fun. I never want to be that harsh with a friend again.
Should totally come and do Melbourne and Sydney for your app ;)
Someone turn on James' mic, for christ's sake
I suspect they only took 3 with them to USA and one is faulty and didn't discover it until the first time they used it. If you look at all of their video from their latest trip, there's always one that doesn't work properly.
Funny thing, I didn't really notice until I read your comment. I must be partially deaf
@@planetbroccoli5405 it actually isn't that noticeable, but once you do notice, you can never unhear it 😭
I can't thumbs this up more than once. Realise they couldn't re-do but also, check your lavs!
Came here for this comment. It was so bad I think you should have got James to voice over his section or got some audio person to remove at the background hum & echo. 😔
I do like the way you spread out the patter/banter throughout the video, very nice.
This video came out and I had the terrifying realisation that today is Sunday
Same.
nooooooo!
Mike: Who's gonna be buying this?
Me: uhhhhhhh apparently Ebbers did XD
James is JACKED. Good job, man!
The baru nut is popular in Brazil too... 👍🙃
I’m a very simple man. I see James in the thumbnail I click
Living in the U.S. I've used & liked some of the wheat-free pastas, so I'll try this one. For those who plan to visit the US & want to try these foods or similar, a great place to shop for them is Whole Foods.
James' reactions are extra expressive today and Mike is extra sarcastic 😅
I need to stop watching these when I'm hungry... but you all are worth it!
Mike Huttlestone is the basis for which i choose the men in my life ever since I started following this channel
"YAWN!" I loved Mike's entire reaction to the nuts...both funny and well-articulated.
I really like banza, which is made with chickpea flour. I'm not gluten-free or anything like that, I just really like pasta and am open to trying healthier options of it, my costco had a great price on banza and it's very nearly 1:1 to me. I'm really picky when it comes to any sort of food replacers (sugar, protein powder vs actual protein, etc)
Sorry this sounds like an ad. I just really love pasta lmao
It's cool of Sorted to do US food trends! Thank you!
Lol I'm watching this on February 28th 2021..... wonder how that fig salami is holding up.
Mike's speech was epic in the end!
James’s muscles 😍
Don’t encourage him PLZZZZ
I cook vegan once a week and ended up buying spinach pasta, it is really good and a funky colour and now it’s our go to pasta- people should deffo try it
James trying to be nice and complaining about how hard they make it.... BIG MOOD
NOW I understand why you were traveling so much recently!
You're making your business more robust, and I think that's amazing. If you add Indian places, I'll happily upgrade my club membership!
Careful with chaga mushrooms - depending on the type (and how would you know if you buy them processed?) they can cause kidney stones or even kidney failure.
I just harvested my pumpkin patch. And now have a bunch of dryed pumpkin seeds to munch on. Now that is delicious.
Add E I’ve seen these in the supermarket and been wanting to try them - these are some really good tips, thank you!!
I looooved that video where they had to guess the mystery ingredients in the doughnuts and ice cream. Sooo different!
James is perfect
steady on now!
But he is...
Dried figs are a common dry fruit in India. (called anjeer in India). They come stringed up on a jute rope (rope is not to be eaten). Soak it in water overnight, tastes amazing! Must try.
Oh god, Jamie, that Dad Joke was a real groaner!
Bone broth is consumed for the collagen extracted from the bone marrow. Supposedly collagen will help your skin and joints. In a pot it takes 24 to 48 hours to simmer. I make mine with a pressure cooker for 2 to 4 hours.
I'm glad to see that James' mic was on.
This is always the best upload time. After Sunday Dinner, Countryfile and with a glass of wine. Keep it up bois!
So have y’all finish the salami it’s almost time
That fig salami is about to expire lads. Make sure you eat it!
Oh, those hippies in Hollywood... 😪 lol, great video! The pasta looked the best.
Testing if you can identify vegan food versions from the non vegan version food blindfolded!
More pass it on ! Thats the best one and loooong time since you did one
@@lerabutterfield964
Riverside isn't LA.
We are big. Do not compare us to your tiny European cities. xP
Thank you for posting these lovely videos! I enjoy this channel's contents.
No. Thank you for watching! 😘
"They were just a list of words that mean nothing to me."
Me during my parasitology lecture.
That fig sausage looks like something you might step in at the dog park.
More pass it on please!
I love love LOVE the ginger fellows.... delicious.
Can you do “Air Fryer” recipes.
In the vein of the lentil pasta, I'd really love to see you guys do a video involving gluten-free cooking! I love drooling over all the recipes you make but it kind of sucks knowing I'll never be able to try 98% of what you make.
You could buy a box of wine for the cost of that bone broth 'elixir.'
And wine solves ALL the problems! Ha
I don't know who's kitchen it is but wow, goals.
That fig sausage has almost expired. RIP
I just had a feeling because I was never allergic to flour when I was younger, but recently I get hives when eating pasta, or anything with a large amount of eggs. Thanks for telling me. I'm going to the dermatologist to find out.
i love this series!!
"Therefore I am pleased." All hail King James
As much fun these are we need more pass it on plzz.love them.
Pass it on and brownie point battles back please.
Love the travel too though
