Saw them for the first time live Monday, will not be the last. Small club, 100 people tops, drove 2 1/2 hours to get there, absolutely fantastic live. I cannot stress enough, THEY WERE GREAT !!

I just came across this today. This is truly remarkable! I grew up a Stevie Ray Vaughn and Allman Brothers band fan. I now have found a brand new band to stand along side them!, thank you for keeping the music alive, but new! I have 3 daughters and it makes me proud to see women of this magnitude in all aspects! Son House deserves to be regarded as equal to Robert Johnson in absolute iconic status. Well done for bringing one of his best songs to people's attention once again, ladies! :D
Son Hous, by all accounts, considered Robert Johnson to be something of a punk kid. All props to Robert Johnson, but.to me, Son House and Blind Willie Johnson were of a deeper well than Robert Johnson.
The story goes that RJ genuinely sucked and got fantastic between Son House's visits to his town. He'd been off learning from someone else, obviously, but it fed into the myth. At least that's how I seem to remember hearing it.
Think'n you mean when Johnson allegedly met the devil at the crossroads ...
Son House, by his own account, thought Robert Johnson couldn't play worth a damn early on, but was one of the best guitarists he'd ever heard after Johnson spent about a year woodshedding. The devil story was popularized by Son House saying that Johnson was so good that he must've made a deal with the devil since he'd last heard him.
