Cool explore, I used to go past a BT tower regularly years ago, similar in design, near Bosley crossroads. Always wondered what they were like inside.👍
Nice to see you up in my neck of the woods, the wind farm up on the big hill ( knowl hill ) is not far from where I live, Google Healey Dell nature reserve, there are some interesting explores, the ammunitions factory, the asbestos factory, the railway viaduct , air raid shelters, lookout gunposts , all close to each other, and there is some great wildlife, I hope you'll check it all out next time you're in the area, I'll gladly be your guide, loving the tunes, thanks for letting me enjoy these mad missions ,
Did some digging and that tower looked epic back in the day when it still had the old microwave horns on top! Kinda like the old AT&T "Long Lines" setup they had over here in the states only way cooler looking. Can't believe all the long distance calls for like an entire city used to get beamed through those things before they'd get routed through those big copper trunks to people's phones. >.
It was bombproof, that’s why the door so epic. It was made during the Cold War so it was Made to deal with a nuclear explosion. There’s a load of them they links London to Edinburgh. I think they were called chain-link.
@@jonathanwright609 not all of them are bomb proof only the style one i went uo was the other ones are not as thay have glass windows Birmingham bt towee has glass window also
Get down with the kids. No, seriously, make a friend of your local homeless and you'll be more rewarded than they are. That doesn't sound right but I hope you know what I mean.
It won't be digital, I used a similar CCTV camera back in the same era, for scanning images, the digitising happened on a seperate computer. The camera output was like an analogue composite video or RGB?
@@pdtech4524 For a short time I worked in alarm installation back in 1987, and I saw a camera like that one and the surrounding box had a heater inside so in the wintertime it would not fog up. It did not have a windshield wiper, though. This was in Canada.
I wouldn't like to say there are but main thing i was always behind the microwave trassmitters never in front of them i also did not want to cause disruption to there services by looking but risk is high if you dont have a clue what you are doing much id give advice of 😁
Cool, I am From Whitefield, Grew up in Heaton park in the 60s , Touched the tower after climbing fences when I was about 9yrs old Lol, Never seen inside, Wow like your vid to see inside and the view's spot on.💯👍
The pile of round things on the floor are microwave antennas. Used for high bandwidth comms links between towers and other tall buildings. Was the way to flip phone and data traffic quickly around the country from tower to tower until emerging at the "last mile" exchange. All done with IP these days

Ideal place to put an antenna for a pirate station ...
It's weird to imagine these towers are still in use, but even though they are fancy to see inside, still it's basic, lol.

Drove past this many times! These were built so sturdy so that they could (theoretically) withstand nuclear attacks and maintain communications.

That camera with the wiper has a full on dslr camera in it full body with len. Thats why the cctc camera case is so large.
