Cartamundi vs. USPCC head-to-head? Monolith Playing Cards Deck Review

- In this episode we take a look at a beautiful pair of decks, including one with some holographic innovations, from renowned designer Giovanni Meroni’s Thirdway Industries. Plus we announce the winner of the of Silk decks giveaway
Released in 2019. The white and black Monolith decks are a physical manifestation of Giovanni’s own deep affection for mythology and lore and his influences. We’ll get into those in more detail later. The two decks feature a lot of the same elements but also include some stark differences beyond just the superficial.
The white monolith deck comes packaged in a silver metallic tuck case printed on a white glossy card stock. The front of the box features an intricate arrangement of geographic shapes and architecturally inspired line work. All in all, it has a very diagram-like feel. The tucks feature no title or lettering on the front. Or indeed anywhere on the tuck for that matter other than traditional ad copy on the bottom of the boxes. The sides of the box feature some white bars with a ribbon-like coil design that reminds me of a snake or ivy--but could also be an allusion to the columns of greek or roman antiquity. The same shapes feature prominently on the back of the tuck, a representation of the back design within the box. A two-way design of mirrored circles flanking a central sun-shaped center design. Two diagonal lines forming 90 degree angles at either side of the circular sun center also give the impression of an all seeing eye.
The top of the box includes the four suit pips. There is no seal on the box. The bottom announces the deck as being printed by the united states playing card company which will soon see is in contrast the black monolith deck.

since you got just a bit off topic from playing cards, I'd just like to highly recommend a movie about the same German Enigma code … "The imitation Game" (2014) * awesome movie on the subject. I have just recently pledged for the Order playing cards on Kickstarter which is also from Thirdway Industries as well as previously purchased the Lunitica set. * I saw that there's also a gilded Gold Monolith deck on the website, but it's sold out.
A great review of an awesome pair of decks from Gio. It is a task to even provide an overview of Gio's extensive back stories to his decks. You should consider reviewing VXD's Las Vegas decks with true holographic film. Their London deck is still up on Kickstarter. Thanks again for an amazing review.

Just like lady wake if you ever did a QA video, my first Q would be in all of 80+ videos has there been any video or any shot that was not perfect in terms of your standards and yet you still went ahead with it cuz you needed to publish the video or finish shooting it. Your reviews are top notch, dude. So many reviewers, while cool people with great interest and intention, just go about their reviews too haphazardly (and this is coming from someone who is pretty haphazard, himself, lol), while yours shows a level of intention and diligence that I can't help but respect.
