Love the ‘something out of nothing’ videos! Inspiring and informative!
Awesome! Thank you!
That turned out really great Brian. And I can't wait to see the room section build. I'm stoked the focus is back to your space!
Thank you! Much appreciated
I feel like we haven't seen this kind of content for soooooo long. I love it, very inspirational cheers Brian
@@marvrogers9540 I know, so sorry. We are working on it. Thanks for watching!
@@TheSmugglersRoomdon't apologise, I am grateful for all your content :-D
Nice to see the something from nothing creativity unleashed again. You have a lot of promises to fulfill....wiring and and many more but I'm waiting on more of the Q+A vids from earlier this year....i KNOW there are many questions still hanging on out there for answers from you....😊 thanks for more "upcycling" ideas
Thank you! Yes, we are trying to get our schedule back to normal rhythm again, and definitely the questions that didn’t get answered. I promise that will come soon.
Holy mother of a meticulously branded Rancor moth, that room section at the end is incredible!
It's really a pleasure to see you again with another great video. Really missed you. I am eagerly awaiting your dedicated video on designing and programming of the LCDs you mentioned in your 'Star Wars Diorama Project - Drink Vendor Stall'.
From the glimpse of the treasure of trash parts, I have observed that you are not noticing the hidden treasure of all sorts of mechanical components. With the wealth of mechanical components you own, you can build a lot of machines if you can just put a little effort on studying how the mechanical parts functioned originally. You might use those mechanisms right out-of-the-trash as you use other parts. You build astonishing static props with great paint job and lighting. I believe with a little study of clockwork and use of simple motors which, you might already be having, you will build even more astonishing dynamic props and animatronics.
One more suggestion. You own a lot of projector lenses. I request you to explore the use of projected static images from these lenses in some sort of holographic projection props. They are widely used in StarWars. Imagine how cool a simple 2D projection of a blue wireframe diagram of a StarWars spaceship on a wall might look. There are endless possibilities. I know you will find them all.
Thank you, once again for a great video.
Awesome suggestions! You are totally correct on the mechanical aspect, i often focus more on the look and really need to get in the weeds on making things move and adding that motion to things. Thanks for the suggestions!
There are companies that will buy old servers and equipment like this and resell it so others can keep their machines alive.. They send guys in big panel trucks with lift-gates to collect the parts.
We call them Server-Jawas.
They may or may not show up wearing brown robes.
HA!!! That's hilarous!
Gotta love this build!!! ❤😊❤
Thank you!!
Great to see you working back in the basement! 😉And might I say a great addition to the room build👏
Thank you very much!
A great trash to sci fi box transformation. the sneak peak concept looks very interesting.
Thank you! Glad you are excited.
Love the old school build !!!
@@blackmarketoutpost thanks bro!!
I love the 'make something from nothing' videos. I tend to look in the electronic/appliance, toy, and tool sections of thrift stores for stuff to use.
Also, bit of a side note. If you really like kit bashing and using trash for props etc. Take the time to really watch Gerry Anderson's original Thunderbirds, look at the sets and props. I've become fascinated with what they've used.
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll check that out!
I love all of your builds, but the simple "trash" builds are my absolute favs!!
This turned out AMAZING!!!
Thank you so much!!
Beast work brother!! This build is going to be insanely cool!! Can't wait for the following episodes!
Thank you my friend! Much appreciated!
Another great build! Really good job! Looking forward to the next room part! It's gonna be awesome!
Thank you so much!
Fantastic!! Your videos draw me in so deep. Very inspiring.... now I got the itch to build something out of nothing. Thank you!
Thank you! So glad to hear that!
Awesome as all way. Love the layout of your room. Can't wait to see more. Your videos give me so much inspiration and ideas. You truly are the reason I became a builder.
Thanks so much! That made my day. Appreciate you!
@@TheSmugglersRoom I would love to talk with one and see what help or ideas you have on my room build. I seem to be stuck at the moment.
This is soooo great bro!! I'm beyond excited for this section of the room build! Can't wait to see more!!!
Thanks man! After seeing your space I am extremely motivated!
What a fun build. Really enjoy your videos. 👍😎
Thank you so much!
Amazing small builds can be as fun as big ones you look energized can't wait for next vid
Thank you! I like the small ones too!
Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's a sick looking panel! I love the masking fluid technique!
Thanks man!!
It looks like a reasonably forgiving stuff, too. The blue stripe looked too distressed for my liking, but if you were to take off the masking fluid before the rest of the mask, you could see if you like the result, and if you don't you just apply more fluid (or less) and respray. I need to give it a try myself because it looks really fun.
Love me some liquid latex. That stuff works wonders for creating weathering. Keep up the good work!!
It's so great right? Looks very natural.
Love your videos. They inspire me to try different things and techniques I normally wouldn't try. Awesome build 👏.
Happy to hear that! Thank you!
Sick bro ! You took this to a whole new level ! Love the added greeblies and the addition of the box with pipes . Now Im inspired by your build . Time to get to work my friend
Thanks man! Appreciate the idea bro!
Love a quick, simple build! Really dig the color selection and the shape of that box is so great!
Thanks man. I always go with darker greys and metal look, but I love the way the wreathing pops on lighter colors. Plus it will make the panel pop a bit more once the wall is complete.
Thanks!
Thank you my friend!
I love watching you work my man!!
I appreciate that! Thank you so much!
Awesome and creative project as always, so inspirational 👏👏👏
Thanks so much! 😊
Awesome as always 😎
Thank you! Cheers!
Cool, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Another great video and project! Love how that all came together. I have about dozen or so waterproof junction boxes in varying sizes that I've been toying with for my server cabinet project. Thanks for sharing how you used yours!
oooh!! That sounds awesome! That kind of stuff can always be dressed up and work really well. Can't wait to see what you do!
@@TheSmugglersRoom You'll surely be among the first to see it! Just piecing together things before paint and final assembly
❤this!
glad you liked it!
@@TheSmugglersRoom the techniques are great. I’m currently building out some props for a sci fi music video and your videos are great inspiration. Been having a blast. Thanks 🙏
Loving the new music tracks and great to see a return to some of the old trash bashing!
Thank you much!
Recycling done right! great piece , you should re-decorate Galaxy Edge
Thanks!
Dynamics inspiration to art world❤
Great video 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I recognize that! By the stairs where Han in carbonite and the Mando manequins were.
Nice! Cant wait to see the work on that area!
Btw, is the gonk in the basement? And hows the ceiling going? Did you figure out what goes in the window well yet?
LOL! Thanks Kelley! Gonk is definitely in the room, and nothing yet for the ceiling or window, but getting closer!
Another great video. Love your content. This gets me so excited for the project I have in mind, even if it's not a sci-fi project. I just have to get some materials before I can start it, I might have buy most of it online cause I am having difficulty finding places that carries what I need.
So glad to hear it, can’t wait to see what you build!
That section is going to be so cool! Love this build.
Thank you!!! I am hoping we can bring a lot of value while being entertaining with this section of the build!
@@TheSmugglersRoom I have no doubt you will
What kind of powder did you use for the weathering with the makeup brush? It looks so GOOD
Always learn something new with this kind of content. 🤙🏼
So glad to hear that. Thank you!
Brilliant work, as always Brian. Can't wait for the next instalment.
Thank you very much!
Awesome as always! Make moar videeeoooozzzzz!!!
Thank you! We are working on it!!
Inspired, I just now bought one off ebay!!!
Awesome!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Fantastic dude !
Thank you!
Those boxes are great! Ebay stores know what they have. Those are not cheap! Considering how many got ripped out and tossed.
Do you cast or 3D resin print parts?
Yeah, they are sadly not cheap. I do both cast and resin print parts
love it love it love it
So glad to hear it!
Man I missed this. Very nice idea.
Thanks!
☑️ SUBSCRIBED!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you!!!
Some of my favorite videos of yours. Where do you source your screws?
Thank you! I get the hex head bolts on Amazon. Here is a sample pack link that has a variety of sizes: amzn.to/3Y1ZZi1
Awesome video! do you happen to have any videos of how to use the Wago connectors for the lights?
I don’t specifically, but we are working on an “easy lighting” tutorial that we will have up on the channel in two weeks.
I want to see more of The Pit.
me too. Don't worry, it's coming as well. We are trying to find a balance between the room building and the Pit.
👍
👍
🐐
Thank you sir!
Well if you could find someone who works on those old phone systems it would probably be cheap to buy a few of the empty cases off of them once they crack them open for parts.
100% agreed!
Haha… I saw that Partner module and the word trash.
That has been a dead product for so long. I am glad to see you are putting history to good use.
Awesome!! It's a great piece!
Save one so we can replicate them like 3D printed or resin cast make a mold of it please Lots of photos before altering cuz if you can't find any more you can always replicated later. Grapevine it looks great
great idea! Will do!
The building that my girlfriend works in used to be a school. Its pretty much shut down now except for the part she works in, but we were able to make our way into the basement a month or two ago. I *think* there were a few of those expansion modules in one of the rooms with a buttload of old phone equipment. Have to see if we can get back in there.
By the way, any updates on the Phoenix?
That's awesome! They have a great look!
They finished the Phoenix, but unfortunately the went in a different direction and chose not to use us to finish it off.
@@TheSmugglersRoom Aw that sucks!
How do you decide when to re-work an existing box vs making it from scratch?
That's a great question. I think it comes down to the way the box, or whatever the item is. Some things just immediately have the right look and feel you know? When it's like that all you need is to add a little flare. In my opinion of course. The more recognizable the piece you start with, the more you have to work to disguise it, if that makes sense.
Great work as always! Unrelated question, but you got 1,500 views in 6 hours. Did you always get these kind of views this quickly, or did it take a long time for your channel to get to this point of success?
Thank you! Actually, the views are a bit lower than in the past. Largely because of how infrequent we have been this year with build videos. So we are working hard to build up the content and get back to weekly uploads. Thanks for watching.
Dude i just torn one of those down a week ago to use
no kidding? Did you keep it?
Hey Brian, quite a while back you talked about designing and building a ship themed treehouse/air B'n'b thing. What ever happened to that project, is it still happening?
Unfortunately they went in a different direction and we are no longer part of the project. Such a bummer.
@@TheSmugglersRoom Ah shame. Well I'm sure you've got plenty of uses for those juice lids in your own room build. 😂👍 take care my friend
