Thank you so much for your video. You are very helpful. I’ve been searching in TH-cam and Google to sort out my problem. I couldn’t find any thing till I find you now I fixed mine. Thank you so much
Hi, thanks so much for your comment. It's so good to hear that our video has helped you to fix your pressure washer! Well done for fixing it yourself, and have fun pressure washing!
Hi I have K4 karcher machine. My one when I turn on the machine motor running noise is not continuously. Look like on and off and spraying pressure also indicating fence symbol on handle. Is ther any faulty inside?
Hi Matt, I have a Kartcher K4 compact looks very similar inside to the K2 in the video. It trips my circuit board switch and or the RCD. I have tried your electrical diagnostics video. Switch is fine, capacitor looks ok and tested ok (charging and discharging). Fuse ok. Live to Neutral though is showing 400 ohms. Same when I do live to neutral at the switch. Any ideas? The motor is not exposed like on the smaller models to be able to test. Not sure if I can take off the black cover to check the motor and even if I did what could cause the 400 ohms. Any advice appreciated
Hi, I see you are savior for many having issues with the Karcher. Please see if you can help me too. The problem started with the Karcher pulsating every 2 to 3 minutes when the power is on but washer not in use. When the machine is in use there is no issue but when I stop it started pulsating at intervals. After 2 to 3 hours, the machine wouldn’t stop even the power button on the machine turned off. At this point also, there was no issue when the machine is in use. I opened up the machine and couldn’t find anything obvious, so I closed it back. Now, it will work if I turn the on/off knob several times. It will stop when I release the handle but wouldn’t turn on automatically when I press the handle again. Would you be able figure out what the issue and what needs to be replaced from the problem described herein?
Hi Antony, have you tested the switch but we have had issues similar so check these: try another spray lance as a partial blockage can cause the motor to shut off then come back as the pressure reduces. Check there is a good supply of water to the machine and the filter in the machine inlet elbow, and there are no air leaks on the supply hose also, have a look at this diagnosis video th-cam.com/video/4WZgprLndhU/w-d-xo.html
I have a 2.240 and every now and again i turn the power switch on and nothing happens. I disassemble the unit, yellow cover only, and then do a quick on and off test. It works. The I reassemble and works for a while, but the problem comes back. Have you seen this before?
Hi, thanks for your question. We don't have any specific K5 range videos, but you can see our range of K5 spares here on the eSpares website: www.espares.co.uk/browse/mt16/pressure-washers/karcher/domestic-k5-series
Hi Hills Up, try this 1. Disconnect your Pressure Washer from the electricity supply. 2. Remove the black high pressure hose from the outlet of the machine. (If your machine has a hose reel, remove the trigger gun from the hose and leave the hose connected to the machine). 3. Connect the garden hose to the inlet of the machine. 4. Turn on the water supply but leave the machine unplugged from the electricity supply. 5. Leave the water running through the machine for a period of 5-7 minutes. 6. Re-connect the black high pressure hose. 7. Squeeze the handle of the trigger gun to draw the water through the hose and into the gun until water exits from the lance.
I have a pressure washer apart right now. There is no activity at all at the pump. I checked the plug and to the best of my knowledge, seems okay. There is no fuse in the plugin head. Just a GVI plug. I have the motor out of the unit and found that on one side, there is a long spring holding the brush in, on the other side the brush is just sitting in the slot against the armature with no spring or anything holding it in?It just slops around? I assume it should have a similar spring or something holding the brush against the motor?
Thanks. Actually I realize after I posted that the post that the spring should hook to is broken and spring is gone. So will need the plastic part and brush holder. I did put a spring against brush & taped it on so that brush was under pressure & holding against the armature. It did work and kicked in. So will go on the hunt for part. Thanks. Great vids and support by the way.
The switch is positioned to turn the motor off when the water flow stops as you release the spray gun. Bypassing or moving this switch would result in the motor running manually and not automatically as designed.

Hi, I have a K5.7, I've watched all your videos, diagnosed the problem to be the switch however it's not as straight forward to change as this model. The part came this morning (complete assembly) but I can't seem to remove the old one. Looks like it's combined with the pressure switch which I can't seem to retract. Any ideas? Thanks
Cheers for the quick reply, unfortunately I'd already tried that (with the pump laying down, so emptied of oil). Is there an email address I could sent a photo to?
I received the correct part number but no way is it easily clicking in as at 1:39 in video. Seems to be too much plastic in the way for the back catch to grab. about 1mm out. Help.
+rjbda2003 You need to trace continuity between the plug and the motor using a multimeter. You may find another video easier to follow see: th-cam.com/video/pJkyY8qRRwc/w-d-xo.html
Hi Satish, if the switch has failed then you will need to replace, we have no idea where to buy in Bangalore but our website will be able to help www.espares.co.uk/search/ma877pt1899/pressure-washers/switches/karcher
Never understand why these brands choose components that only last barely 100 hrs/ year for a few years and then malfunction. An electric car can go for 150000km without any engine issues, easy. The fact that my third karcher has 'stopped' in 10 years (one interior cleaner, this is the second pressure hose K4) totally baffles me, such horrible components. No professional work, just maintaining a large house, cleanups twice yearly. Never had a plan to buy all these tools, get a good piece of kit that doesn't fall apart (capacitor, carbon sticks, whatever). Karcher? why ever?
Thanks for your comments Moataz. Reservoir capacitors in DC power supplies must always be discharged before contact. This appliance uses the capacitor to pass AC current phase shifted to the other motor winding. When not running the capacitor is across two motor winding's in series so will always be discharged as soon as power is removed.

The armature of the motor on my k2 has jammed, can it be repaired or it has to be replaced entirely?
Could you please give me with a solution.

Hi, I have Karcher k4 full control and cannot remove the capacitor. Is there have something special or just pulled the capacitor? Thank you!
Hi georgi, there is nothing special about removing the capacitor even though the terminals can be tight to remove so take your time but persevere.
@@eSpares thank you, it was little hard but I removed him
Need help for fixing my karcher k5.200 low pressure problem, thanks
Hi Hills Up, try this

Both brushes must be pushed into contact with the armature so this is likely to be the problem.
Thanks. Actually I realize after I posted that the post that the spring should hook to is broken and spring is gone. So will need the plastic part and brush holder. I did put a spring against brush & taped it on so that brush was under pressure & holding against the armature. It did work and kicked in. So will go on the hunt for part. Thanks. Nice! Now I'm not worried that the Karcher I have isn't an induction brushless motor ones!
The switch is positioned to turn the motor off when the water flow stops as you release the spray gun. Bypassing or moving this switch would result in the motor running manually and not automatically as designed.
Glad you found the video useful.

Hi Richard, we think if you follow the video from 7:10 you will be able to remove the switch assembly from the pump.
Cheers for the quick reply, unfortunately I'd already tried that (with the pump laying down, so emptied of oil). Is there an email address I could sent a photo to?
Hi when am using my karcher model k360 during am washing engine start and then stop and then restart I must to know what the problem
Can you show me how to change the hose on K650 MB?
Hi Thai, we do not currently have a video on replacing the hose on specific models, but will try for the future.
nothing for gear ? oil level in the pump ?
I received the correct part number but no way is it easily clicking in as at 1:39 in video. Seems to be too much plastic in the way for the back catch to grab. about 1mm out. Help.
The black plastic peg is pushed through the hole to grip it, it should release with a little force.
Mine k 7 doesn't star. what could it be !? so far couldn't find a place or someone to fix it. any suggestions? thanks

I need help with my electric cooker ring plz
Hi Sandra Dove, how can we help?
You did not show how you determined that the switch was bad. You simply plugged in the new black one.
We show how to diagnose electrical problems on Karcher pressure washers in another video here: th-cam.com/video/afPHu9LrRbQ/w-d-xo.html
