    As someone who's lived in Two Harbors their whole life, how did I never know this was basically in my backyard 😭

    I'd like to check this place out (I live in Duluth.) Al Capone had many hideouts up in northern Minnesota. About 20-years ago, I explored one of Capone's hideout properties in Clearwater County. Thanks for this post!

    Well you should be kicking up quite a few views if people come directly to TH-cam to wat h your video from the news article. Great find! I'm a native Minnesotan and my brother and I used to find crazy stuff in the nw part

      Thank you! Yes Minnesota is great for exploring. I explore the central part as well. Tamarac wildlife refuge. Itaska state park. These are fun areas to explore.
      Yes this news article was brought to my attention last evening. Very cool article. I'll be doing another video on this area this coming spring.

    Great video. I know that Capone had a few hideouts in MN, as did a few other outlaws. I'm just curious, how did you determine that it was Capone's hideout?

    I live in northern minnesota. There are about 50 old homesteads that are supposedly his but no one knows if any were actually were his or not.

    From the thumbnail I thought whenever Al got into trouble he would just hide in a chimney lol.

    So I've been trying to find this spot to come help metal detect for a hour, should I just give up and go to Bettys pies instead? :)

    Too bad that is not his property. That’s the property of the couple that escaped Chicago and started a lodge. It’s on Heffelfinger Rd in Finland Minnesota. Cool idea but not where his family property was.

    • @upnorthnation6837
      @upnorthnation6837  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope not even within 65 Miles of this property. But good try. That property u speak of is outside of Ely.. u r very far off and are only commenting on news articles u have read. U know nothing John snow..

      hey would you be willing to give an interview and tell that story? it can be as long or as short as you think will do it justice. I'm trying to get material for a Minnesota gangster series and I'm looking for actual relationships with gangsters , especially Capone

      Its historically documented in many news articles over the years. Great question! I wish I could give you more info regarding location, but I haven't finished metal detecting the area. A little research of your own and you would be able to pinpoint this location. But it is hard to get to. Only way to get to it is by walking a couple miles or by snowmobile in the winter time. As I stated in the video, I'll disclose much more about this site once I've finished exploring it

      @@upnorthnation6837 It looked like your truck was parked real close to the location at 6 minutes into the video. Need 4WD to make it? Would love to stop by and take some photos here this winter.

    • @upnorthnation6837
      @upnorthnation6837  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jandrewz7 this area is extremely inaccessible during winter months. Snow machine is the only way to get to the area where I park my truck in the video. Summer months i had an easy time making with my truck. Yes you need 4wd in summer to get there.

      @@upnorthnation6837 Nice. Thanks for your reply and info. Good to know. Was there some kind of bridge for you to cross the creek with your truck? I checked out this spot on a map and looks like it would be difficult to get to for sure. Wish I had a snowmobile, haha.
