I love how these had a sense of weight to them. You really felt the massive energy of these huge ships moving at vast speeds. A lot of stuff today has this high pitched aspect that makes everything feel tinny.
That thin “tinny” sound is all the rage for weapons and stuff these days. You see some dude with an alien rifle and then it goes “click click click”. Gone are the days of bang, bang, and pew pew
I was about to leave a comment on this, I’m glad someone else recognizes this cool sound effect! It sounds like a motorcycle revving its engine, and has a really aggressive quality to it that sells the idea that these war ships are ready for action. One of my favorite small moments in Star Wars thanks to this sound!
@Sammyhale30 he's not the only one that gets those goosebumps. I can play the song on Spotify and still hear that acceleration in my head from the amount of times I've seen this movie.
Round of applause for the genius, the mastermind, the chosen one Ben Burtt for his outstandind sound design throughout the prequels. The podrace is still one of the most exhilirating movie sequences ive ever seen.
6:09 love it, love how they swoop in and you just barely hear that iconic Twin Ion Engine roar that made TIE fighters famous.... if only Seinar Fleet Systems made their fighters more survivable
One thing I noticed right away and hated about the Disney takeover is that the sound design is severely lacking compared to not only the prequels, which has the best, but even the original series.
I swear AOTC has to be the Greatest and Most Unique opening in the WHOLE Franchise! Panning UP instead of downward breaking tradition and entering a planet upside down with chrome ships !
Republic Gunship probs is the most iconic clone wars vehicle sound, with jedi starfighters beside it cause those are just satisfying to hear. u instantly know what's coming when you hear either sound effect
Attack of the clones will always have the best score/soundtrack and sound design, it has also always felt like the most ominous of the first six movies to me for some reason too.
I think the nerdiest thing I've ever done, one of my first times alone driving after I got my license I played a loop of sebulbas podracer sounds driving around town
I'll be completely honest, the sound design is why I still LIVE the prequels and their animation, game and fan music adaptations. I just found a ship in Elite:Dangerous that sounds like a Star Wars ship when accelerating and I am treasuring it. FUCK, the seismic charges in that game were also inspired by SW
"Jet catamaran" is such a fucking hilarious thing and yet it EXISTS Beyond the throwing of shade, I hope that I will someday be able to pilot a ship that glides among the stars
You can actually experience the Jedi Interceptor engine sounds in Warthunder. There's a supersonic attack bomber called SU-7 BKL, when you fly the SU-7 BKL in cockpit mode, then you will hear the howling sound of the Jedi Interceptor. th-cam.com/video/4EgWW00cc0o/w-d-xo.html
the music and sound of the prequels was second to none.
I like the idiom second to none, but man does it actually sound like a insult.
@@nate87799 It honestly does lmfao
Was done by people who had no political motivation behind making a fictional story the best it can be

5:07 has without a doubt the most slept on sound effect for the LAAT. The hard banking turn just sounds so good

so beautiful
I found a die-cast LAAT at a store a few months ago & that sound goes through my head any time I look at it
I like how sebulba’s sound is like a cammed out 7 litre V8, and then Anakin’s is an F1 car. Friggin awesome
Sebulbas sounds more like a Harley to me
6:21 Goosebumps every time I hear that acceleration
@Sammyhale30 he's not the only one that gets those goosebumps. I can play the song on Spotify and still hear that acceleration in my head from the amount of times I've seen this movie.
I loved all the sounds and scores in the prequels. They really added to the movies
added? I would go so far to say that is what "made" those movies....which is both extremely impressive and somewhat disappointing

4:48 i love this
I love your pfp too
It's my notification sound on my phone!
no one can beat Phantom Menacs's SFX. they are pure eargasm

100%
Pod racing is literally the F1 of the Star Wars galaxy.
Because they used F1 sounds
2:37 SIUUUUU
I can’t unhear that now
This scene will never be the same again lol
I love how the spaceships
“rrrrrraaaaAAAA*AAAAAAAAA*AAAAARRRRRREEE”
I swear AOTC has to be the Greatest and Most Unique opening in the WHOLE Franchise!
Panning UP instead of downward breaking tradition and entering a planet upside down with chrome ships !
Watching this reminds of the clone wars miniseries, barely any dialogue, just sfx and music 👌
Jedi interceptor is my absolute favorite.
Me to
I like that they reused it properly in the ahsoka arc in season 5 of the clone wars
me when I hear sebulba's podracer sound
BUBUBUBUBUBUBU
The prequels were amazing in sound the ships, the score everything.
6:01 god i love that fighter
Sucks that I doesn’t have a built in hyperdrive, you have to use a hyperdrive ring

0:47 "and it's lights out!"
0:49 in the theater as a child this scene gave me goosebumps
Probably my favorite vehicle sound effect from the prequels is the sound of Obi-Wan's blue starfighter coming out of hyperspace when going to Utapau
The Naboo cruiser is my favourite, than the dirty sound of sebulas pod racer.
Thank you for including the shock wave bombs too.

@2:20 - Aha! There it is! Straight out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon!
2:29 this one 🥵
My two favorite sounding ship in Star Wars are the slave 1 and the clone LAAT
Palpatine’s shuttle is also iconic for its sound design
Anakin's pod racer sounds better than this years F1 cars
the actis class interceptor is the sexiest sound i have ever heard
I hope that these sound effects will use from lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga
Sadly I think only some were
maul’s scimitar is haunting
The Zephyr-G swoops howl makes me bust every time I hear it
ben burt changed the way i listen to movies...
The Naboo Cruiser sounds like a distorted B-17
Great compilation! Exactly what i was looking for!
Jango fett's blasters
The red diplomatic ship from the very beginning of Episode I has the best engine sound of anything in Star Wars and ya missed it out. For shame
Perfect
Good for stop motion!!
Came here hot grevious’s wheel bike
Excellent video. Subscribed to your channel.

Couldn't be me looking for the star destroyer sound effects in the prequels video lmao

Came for the comment, subbed for the pfp.
You forgot the Geraldine fighter 2.0
Ben Burtt, everyone.
Arc 170 and slave 1 i think sounds the best
4:04 hmmmm…Sonic bombes…
I just realized at 2:23 is probably Zann planting the bomb
LAAT for the win
Based video.
that felt great thanks.
TIEs should've been in here after the V wing, but they are pretty similar
The title says 'prequels'. No TIE fighters
