I can assure you that you will hardly need your laptop's graphics card, as I am an Mtech CSE student too. Every descent college (atleast IITs) have servers available for students that are way efficient than you can buy for your laptop. Some of the IITs including Gandhinagar have supercomputer Param ananta which is available to students for free.
