Gate Guardian materials not also getting retrains sucks. For the worldwide TCG-First retrains for GG, they seem kind of mid. Saw some others did manage to pull Baronne and Guardian Chimera, which are both Ultra Rares. Teardrop Rikka and Utopia Rising are also at least CRs. Really could have reprinted some better stuff though, because getting another Rare Imperial Iron Wall is really mid, when it was literally reprinted as a Rare in Tactical Masters. As kind of expected, the chase cards are not exactly shorted, but definitely not as commonly printed as the other meh stuff.

Y'know, you could TECHNICALLY run the funny Gate Guardian fusion in a Tear deck given it can still mill a whole lot and the card has contact fusion, but it'd be really jank lol At the very least, you'd only have to run 2 of the 3 materials due to King of the Swamp.
Honestly, I’ve been wanting to grab Mekk-knight cards cause they’ve always been a favourite of mine, so I’m happy about the reprints (especially Avramax)
TBH I'm excited for this set, but I'm tired of seeing all these "deckbuilding" structured sets with a bunch of rares and barely any holo foils. Wish they'd bring back the style of Fusion Enforcer styled packs.
I am 100 percent building gate guardian. the monsters got secret reprints in the GX duel box and gate guardian himself. Theres tons of interesting support to potentially make them a really fun deck.

I'm excited for the synchro support as I am just getting into building a deck since having played Master Duel and I have been hooked on 5Ds. Can't believe I let my friends convince me that the anime was trash, it's so good!
At least they reprinted it. Also Sprights are still playable, though not having Elg does suck for them. Beaver got the OTS reprint, and now Angler has the side set one.
@@IsmailAQ No? Do you not play locals or anything? They're still very much playable in the current format. Just requires mixing with something like Tri-Brigades. Running stuff like Lava Golem and Book of Lunar Eclipse/Moon is a necessity though.

Like Synchro Storm, Baronne is the card to save the set. But realistically, the set having Guardian Chimera, Avramaxx and Solemn does help it way more. Reprints of Psi-Beast and Nimble Angler are nice too (the latter moreso because we got Beaver reprinted in the OTS). But yeah....definitely not the set to dive into. As expected, Konami will put out the much more sought-after reprints in their later sets (e.g. next version of megatins/ghost set).
So underwhelming honestly. Half the reprints weren't needed. Konami really delayed these early reveals just so they could give us this. Some cards are nice, but most aren't.

@@rayrup5203 These side sets are generally never worth buying into. Tactical Masters was somewhat balanced and not crazy on short-prints. Amazing Defenders the good URs like Ohime and Purrely are somewhat short-printed. This set though, not only are the reprints in general sub-par (except a few, like Nimble Angler), but the pull rate for the actual good Ultras are probably complete garbage.
They got abc pieces... That banish to summon. Jirai gumo, wall shadow and labyrinth tank all put apiece on the table. All mini gate guardian fusion bring them back on the field upon removal.
Really. Some of the reprints are incredibly disappointing. It is just one box, so can't say much, but cards like Imperial Iron Wall getting a reprint is such a waste.
