Dan Hilferty, Keith Jones, and Daniel Briere sit down with host Brian Smith as the triumvirate discusses the front office structure and New Era of Orange.
I would not say their drafting has been bad. The team has been wrecked by a history of giving huge contracts to old and mediocre players. They’ve always been afraid to really engage in a true rebuild. Hopefully this time is different.
I predicted both of these guys would be part of our future leadership way back as players, far more than just broadcasting :) Both are a very well respected around the league! I was just watching the flyers game 7 impossible comeback against Boston yesterday; thinking, us fans never forget the heart/soul teams or players, and when you combine the smarts/professionalism of both DannyB and Jonesy; they want to win it all! Both guys understand the value of having the right people around in the locker room, and having the right attitude to compete for the hardest trophy in sports (to win). Look at Edmonton just getting eliminated, it's more than just having the best guy on skates. I have full faith in both of them.

I see the purpose of this new era as reclaiming the legacy of Mr. Snider. That's what I love about hiring Jonesy. His intelligence & knowledge are obvious. What I love most is that he knows exactly what Flyers hockey should be. He'll make this a first class organization. Danny Briere is perfect for GM. He's very competitive. I believe he'll act w/o fear, which is how he played the game. Torts is the coach for me. Case closed. Dan Hilferty is extremely impressive. Last but not least, Valerie Camillo is really making a difference. You can see the benefits throughout the organization. Heaping praise on Flyers leadership feels great after a long period of heaping scorn instead. God's blessings to everyone involved.
I hope they down play that mascot in the future and concentrate on improving the on-ice quality of players who wear the Orange & Black. I want this franchise to step away from the need to focus on goon players and focus on players with speed and skill combined. I have been a Flyers fan since their inception in 1967, so I want to see them become a relevant team in the league again, and stop trying to relive the 1973-74 Stanley Cup era.
To all the people saying "trade up for Bedard", i also have a list of demands as likely to happen as that. 1: i want Danny to find a single man to successfully drink the entire ocean. 2: i would like the entire state of Nevada lifted up and swapped with Vermont. And 3: i exclusively want the team drafting players from Yugonda and Australia. Make it happen Danny. Thank you for your time 🤪

While we are at it. Please get rid of "Welcome to Comcast Country" sign at the arena and "PECO" power play. It's tacky and reeks of minor league sponsorship gimmicks.
While Hilferty may be a good talker, I don’t fully trust him and group him together with the rest of the Comcast clowns. However I do have faith in Jonesy, Briere and Torts. I’m confident that the three of them can bring some talent into the organization and build up the team on the ice. Hopefully Comcast will let them actually do their thing and not stifle them.

We don't have anything that would get Chicago to part with Bedard, the oilers aren't trading McDavid, and chances are Matthews won't want to come here. He'd most likely sooner go to Arizona or L.A. we do need a star, but realistically, it will only happen through the draft.

There is nothing that even remotely points to Torts winning another one. Hilferty is ex-Blue Cross with zero hockey experience. None of them has made a trade, worked with the cap, or executed a trade. Briere worked for the ECHL. Jones is an announcer. Period. No business experience at all. Camillo came from the Washington Nationals and created a mascot. Wow. Big deal.

Of course, he has "experience" as a player (never won a Cup), and as an announcer, but how you think that translates to any relevant business experience when it comes to the cap, trades, contracts, or hockey ops is typical nonsense new age fan who hasn't seen more than like 10 games a year.
