Was it a mistake to change cars in Rocket League?

I have been uploading a video a day and have hundreds of videos uploaded from games like Rocket League, Fortnite, and Fall Guys.
I unlocked a new car and decided to try it out for a few rounds. Hopefully it wasn't a mistake on my part trying something new. I saw a video recently saying not to change your car so that you can get used to a specific car in the game.
