The amazing part is being able to get good shots while keeping up with this level of athlete.Thomas could 'just race' and win, but this goes beyond that and captures the essence of the race. Spectacular

Dang, I even felt the "No Hands!!!" on the balance beams. Those judges don't play. There was no "go back", it was literally "GO do your punishment!" Intense!

So many lead changes throughout also, means they had a very comoetetiv3 field of competitor's which is awesome. So many races are one or two lead changes.
I felt so bad for him when he used his hands on that one obstacle and was forced to do burpees. Such an easy obstacle but fell behind.. was rooting for him rest of the way

Few tips: it's faster to do the rope climb all arms, just jump up high and then pull yourself really quick, only 5 seconds or so. For the rotating monkey bars, try to skip 3 or 4 at a time and keep your momentum going forward. When there are no obstacles try to sprint to the next one instead of jogging. These are a few simple tips, let me know if you want the best tips on every obstacle.

This is just so physically demanding. The organizers were 10 out of 10.
If they could create scenic routes in the future thats good for drone, camera coverage the better.

Hey Thomas, could you maybe tell me how you keep your shots so steady (also what camera do you use)? I would like to film some of the survivalruns in the Netherlands (they are somewhat similar to ocr), but I am not quite sure what gear I need to have/should use.

I dont like how its basically just focused on being a good runner and having slight obstacle skills. Way more difficult obstacles would make it more interesting as it wouldnt just be about whos the best runner.
Looking at all this the only thing I feel I should prepare for is the spear throw.

for being an athlete myself it has been an issue at some of my races... but racer organizers are usually well aware of this now days.
We keep the quad as far away as possible from them and always get athletes feedback after the event checking if they were annoyed by smoke and where it happen.
Most of the filming here is done while I'm running amongst the athletes
